Third Person POV

The clicking of dishes could be heard echoing throughout the kitchen as a couple sat at a table. Cereal had been poured, orange juice was drunk, and the feeling of relaxation was evident in both their faces. Comforting silence filled the room as the two love birds read their own morning paper.

Cancer sat on one end, her deep green, silk pajama pants paired with a white lace tank top. Her hair was out of her face and pushed to one side and she held a pristine white coffee mug in her hands. She was looking over the stock markets eyes scanning the page for her next investment. Both legs were brought up onto the chair in a criss-cross position, and Cancer took another sip of her drink, her silver wedding ring catching the rising sunlight.

Scorpio sat at the opposite side. His hair was spiked up every which way, bed head taking over his entire skull. His dark t-shirt sat above his fuzzy pajama pants, which were spotted with Looney Tune characters. The man was draped over his chair, one arm behind him while the other held a newspaper as well. Scorpio chuckled as his eyes scanned over the Funnies, and Cancer flicked her eyes in his direction.

"What's so funny?" She said, getting up to refill her mug.

"This Garfield, man. Cracks me up every time."

Cancer smirked lovingly at her new husband. His eyes met hers, and they held that gaze, lost in each other's eyes.

"How did I ever deserve you?" Scorpio asked as his eyes began to shine. Cancer didn't know if it was out of love, or some sun had just burned his pupils.

She smiled, and shrugged. "I have no idea."

Cancer wasn't sure if Scorpio had noticed how different they were. One was sophisticated, while the other was possessive. She thought with her heart while Scorpio led with his head. Her side of the bed was always wrinkle-free while he couldn't bother to pick up the pillow off the floor. Cancer had nagged him about it for what seemed like years, but he always just smirked, kissed her, and explained how cute she looked when she was flustered.

"Hey, babe?" Cancer called, turning around and leaning against the counter-top while stirring her coffee.

"Yeah?" Scorpio glanced her way, thinking it wasn't anything serious. But then she started fidgeting with the spoon in her mug, and Scorpio could tell she was nervous. He then folded the paper up and gave her his full attention.

"D-do you ever notice how different we are?" Cancer asked, entranced in the swirls of the coffee in her glass.

"What do you mean?"

"I-I'm just saying, we contrast so much. It's kind of weird how you got to be with me, isn't it?" She have a breathy laugh while her smile had faded at the thought that he would probably be better off with someone more similar to him.

"Darling?" Cancer heard the chair shuffle out and footsteps approach her, but she shook her head, and they stopped where they were.

"I'm such an introvert, and you're a social butterfly. What if I'm keeping you from being who you really are?" Small tears started to form in her eyes, but she quickly blinked them away. She had no idea why she was crying.

"Cancer..where is all this coming from?" Scorpio tried to get her to look at him, but she turned her face and set her coffee on the counter, then started to spin her wedding ring around her finger.

Cancer shrugged, "I d-don't really know," her voice cracked a little, "I guess I've always worried about it. I mean, you're such a great guy and I love you so much. Without you, I honestly don't know what I'd do. But I don't want to hold you back from anything you love. And while I hope it's me, it doesn't have to be..."

Scorpio looked at his wife with concern, but said nothing. Instead, he went over to her and wrapped one arm around her waist and placed the other on her head. He held her there as he tried to exude all the love and care for her that he had in his body. She continued as he played with her hair.

"I just don't want you to regret marrying me." Cancer whispered.

Now that hurt. Scorpio's heart pained. How could she ever think that? Cancer was everything to him, he would do anything for her without question. He loved her, more than words could say, but he wished that he could at least say something that was equal to how he felt.

His arms tightened around her and he leaned down to rest his head on her shoulder. "Of course I don't regret marrying you," he started, head still rested in the crook of her neck, "I asked you, didn't I?"

Cancer had wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave a relived chuckle at his response. Short and sweet. All of his comments were small, but she always knew the deeper meaning. While hers were more extravagant and detailed, his were simple but encouraging.

Scorpio pulled away slightly, and looked into her eyes. He gave a sad smile at the glinting tear stains, and wiped the away with his thumb. His hand moved across her cheek, then down to cup her jawline. Cancer tilted her head and rested it in his palm. Scorpio leaned in and gave her a kiss on the lips.

The kiss was sweet and slow, but exploding with love and care. Not only did this reassure Cancer that Scorpio wasn't going anywhere, but it also lifted any insecurities of their first years of marriage. She knew they would make it through. It would be tough, but as long as they always stuck by each other's side, the couple could conquer anything.

Even an emotional Sunday breakfast.
