4~Party (part 3)
I walked back in the living room where Hiroto was busy choosing a song with Endou and Fudou. I walked over to Suzuno who was sitting next to Nagumo, eating some ice cream (I swear, this guy and ice cream) "Uh Suzuno, could I talk to you for a sec?" I said in almost a whisper. "Sure." He said getting up and following me.
We walked upstairs to his bedroom and he shut the door behind us. "So are you going to tell me what's wrong now?" He said perching on his bed, gesturing me to sit. I sighed, there was no point in trying to hide it anymore-Suzuno had always been able to tell with me, ever since we were kids. The only person better at it was Hitomiko-neesan. Suzuno was always the one I came to for advice, or to mope to, or to complain to. He was a better option than Saginuma at least...
'I'm surprised he isn't here actually, he never misses a party? Though, if he was here I'm sure he'd make things a thousand times more awkward.' I shook my head.
I pretty much just spilled everything and he just sat there and listened in silence. By the end I was starting to get really upset "I mean it was stupid of me to think that he loved me anyway! He'll never think of me as anything other than his friend! I don't know what to do anymore, he doesn't love me that's for sure and he never will, but I'm too scared to tell him how I feel anyway! What do I do?" Tears began to form in my eyes and a few escaped, sliding down my face as I tried to wipe them away.
"Hey Ryuuji don't cry." Suzuno said handing me a box of tissues. "I don't think that's the case at all." He continued.
"Wh-what do you m-mean?" I sniffed.
"I mean, I think he does like you, if you saw the way that he's always looking at you, if you knew the countless times he's called Haruya and I asking if we've heard from you and if you're okay; because he can never seem to be able to get through to you, it's so obvious and you just don't see it. You're too worried that he'll say no even though I'm 110% sure that he won't. One of you has to make the first move, like I did with Nagumo." I instantly felt a pang of guilt, I had been ignoring Hiroto's calls because I was too afraid to talk to him, I had no idea that he cared so much.
"B-but that's easy for you to say! Nagumo couldn't keep his eyes off you since - forever! You two were practically made for each other and everyone knew it! But, I can't do that. I'm not like you and even if you think it's true that doesn't mean it is!" I said a little louder than I should have. He raised his eyebrows at me. "Sorry. I know your just trying to help." I mumbled looking at the floor.
He didn't say anything for a while and I looked up at him worried that I had offended him. He had a very serious expression on his face. "Midorikawa Ryuiji show some motherfucking backbone! If you want him then stop complaining and get him. I'm not just gonna sit here and baby you forever because sorry, but that isn't my job. Either you say something or he does, I can't make him confess to you. You gotta take charge for once!" That kind of hurt- but in a good 'friend giving you a kick up the butt' way. I knew he was right and he knew it too. We both stood up, I was still nervous but I knew what I had to do. "Thanks Suzuno." I said opening the door. He just smiled and said "Well what are friends for eh?".
I walked downstairs and into the living room to find Hiroto. However he was nowhere to be seen. "Eh? Kazemaru have you seen Hiroto?" I asked. He nodded, sipping from his can of coca-cola and keeping a watchful eye on Endou who was currently engaging in what sounded like a rap-battle with Fudou, a rap-battle Endou clearly wasn't winning. "He went with Nagumo somewhere just a few minutes ago."
'Nagumo huh? Well I guess I'll just have to wait then...' Just at that moment the song finished and someone tapped me on the shoulder, I turned around quickly to see Tsunami standing there with a big grin on his face. "Hey Midorikawa come sing with me and Sakuma! I wanna beat Fudou. What do you say!" I saw Sakuma swaying slightly, standing behind him, a grin plastered on his face-he was clearly quite tipsy. I was about to say no when Suzuno glanced at me, I quickly changed my mind, determined to have a good night from now on. "Sure!" I said as I followed.
We eventually chose a song that we all knew and Tsunami asked me to start off.
I can move mountains
I can work a miracle, work a miracle
Oh, oh, keep ya like an oath
May nothin' but death
do
us
part
We all belted it out. It was really a lot of fun, Tsunami was doing a great air guitar when Sakuma and I were singing our lines, Sakuma was actually really really good (despite being smashed off his face) I was actually having fun! Not caring about anything. Everyone was clapping and cheering, joining along.
She wants to dance like Uma Thurman
Bury me 'til I confess
She wants to dance like Uma Thurman
And I can't get ya outta my head
I sung with all my might, pumping my fists in time with the music.
I sung the bridge by myself since Sakuma seemed too drunk for it. Just then Hiroto walked back in with Nagumo, he smiled at me and I almost stopped - but I didn't. I carried on singing, having a great time.
You'll find your way
And may death find you alive
Take me down the line
In Gem City we turn the tide
You'll find your way
And may death find you alive
Take me down the line
In Gem City we turn the tide
She wants to dance like Uma Thurman
Bury me 'til I confess
She wants to dance like Uma Thurman
And I can't get you out of my head
I can move mountains
I can work a miracle, work a miracle
Oh, oh, keep you like an oath
I screamed at top of my lungs also seeing that everyone was jumping around including Hiroto which made me even happier.
May nothing but death
do
us
part!
With that the song finished. I felt utterly exhilarated. Tsunami high-fived me and so did Sakuma, although he missed and almost face-planted the floor, luckily Tsunami managed to catch him. Everyone was cheering and clapping as we put down the mics and sat back down.
