Cath awoke with a feeling that she was being watched, puzzled she kept her eyes shut to see if she could hear anything. Sure enough, there were whispers.
"Where do you think he went?"
"I don't know, he left a note though"
"HE DID?!"
Cath's eyes flew open and she sat up in bed, startled by the loud voice.
Alice and Spade- the two lovebirds were sitting beside Cath, staring at her.
Is this how it feels when I stare at Jest?
Jest? Wait, where is he?
Cath's eyes flew around he room, not even caring about Alice and Spade.
Cath turned to Alice with a look of dread written on her face.
"Where, is Jest?" Cath managed to grind out through gritted teeth.
A look of curiosity crossed Alice's face.
"You don't know?" Alice scrunched up her nose and put her head in her hands.
Spade spoke up. "We came in but he was gone, we though you might know where he went."
Realization dawned upon Cath as she realized Jest was not in the house.
"A note?" Cath looked at Spade who has a confused look on his face.
"Jest always leaves a note." Cath grabbed the letter as Spade pulled it out of his pocket. She opened it and scanned the white note. She rolled her eyes and fell back on the bed.
"Unbelievable." Cath muttered under her breath, she jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom, where she quickly got ready.
"Forget the Queen, we have to find Jest." Cath made sure Alice and Spade heard her.
Alice got out of her seat and shook her head. "Oh no we're not, we don't even know where he is, besides the Queen is our top priority."
Cath was getting extremely annoyed with them.
"I almost lost Jest once, I'm not losing him again, we can work out the plan for the Queen and Jabberwock on the way, and if you don't come, then I'm doing it myself."
Alice opened her mouth, ready to protest, but shut it. She rolled her eyes and stomped her way out of the room, and Spade was right behind her. They soon returned, both ready for an adventure.

Cath weaved her way through the forest, Alice and Spade following her.
As Cath instructed them where to step, and where to not step, Alice grew more annoyed by the second- and she soon exploded.
"ENOUGH! I have lived here for ages and I do know where we're going, so if you would please STOP telling us where to go, it would be kindly appreciated." Alice huffed out a breath.
Cath acted surprised, but when she turned around she smirked, pleased with herself.
As everyone continued walking peacefully Spade suddenly yelled.
"AGGHH!" Everyone turned around, startled by the sound. Spade was stuck in a snapdragon. You could hear his muffled screams and yells for help.
Alice glared at Cath, but Cath returned the glare with a smirk.
Cath leaned against a tree. "You were saying?" Cath grinned at Alice, but suddenly felt like Jest.
Alice put her hands on her hips and said, "You've been spending too much time with Jest."
Cath smiled and said, "likewise."
As Alice attempted to pull the plants mouth open, Cath still stood against the tree, amused.
"That's not how you do it." Cath laughed to herself as Alice was struggling.
Alice swung around and glared at Cath. "Well, how do you do it then?!"
Cath could tell Alice was extremely annoyed.
Cath sighed and walked up to the snapdragon. Cath plastered a smile on her face and thrust a hand towards the plant. She started stroking it, but quickly turned it into tickling. The plant let Spade come tumbling out of the plant onto the floor, he was covered with this yellow goo on him.
As he rolled on the floor, he quickly got covered by dirt.
Alice gasped and rushed towards him. "Your okay! Thank goodness!" She hugged him but pulled away and realized that she too was now covered in goo. "Great." She rolled her eyes and helped Spade up.
Cath laughed at the young couples differences. She enjoyed spending time with Spade and Alice, even if they were quite annoying.
Cath turned on her heel and marched through the forest, determined to get back to the castle and get to Jest.
Unfortunately, they got lost pretty soon.
Also, Cath had pretty much no idea what they were going to do when they got there.
"Well Cath. We were going to help your husband, so if you still want to do that, then..." Alice looked at Cath as if the rest were obvious.
They took a break in the middle of the forest, as it was getting really dark.
During the break, Cath came up with a plan. It wasn't the best, but it was something.
They spent the night in the forest, not entirely sure what Cath was up to.
The stars were bright in Hearts, and even though there were so many bad things going on, for once, everything seemed peaceful.
More or less.
Spade and Alice talked into the night. The fell asleep side-by-side.
Why does this sort of thing only happen to me? For once, can someone else take the worst of it?
Cath thought.
Catherine fell asleep to the sound of birds singing, and to the thought of seeing Jest again.

AAAAAHHHHHH IM ALIVE! I'm so sorry I haven't updated! I started writing it, then forgot, then deleted Wattpad, then got it, then started more books. UGH
