Another stroke of hope

My eyes follow the clock its ticking keeping my company. It's almost hypnotizing but yet my eyes never seem to want to look away.

A sudden crash came from behind, the culprit a maid her victim the tray of fruits a mess on the ground.

I turn away not wanting to meet her eyes, not wanting to see that express of pity that everyone choose to wear.

My heart jump when the click of a door came and the tapping of heels behind me I turn once again but before anything a hand capture my mouth tightly.

I started to panic, not knowing what to do I thrash in the hold my mind fantic of the worse thought.

"Sh sh please calm down" the voice said in a smoothing tone it sounded like a female 'oh no one of his sex partner' I wanted to speak out but to no advil my not mouth finding no space to move.

But I eventually stopped my struggles, I was a weak mess, wondering why I was even fighting, knowing this was coming my way sooner or later.

"Calm down, imma take my hand away but you got to promise not to make a sound, okay?" I only nodded in understanding yet my heart beat increase, it's not like I could move my feet was chain to the ground.

"Good?" Her hand moved away cautiously. Fearing I may make a sound.

Not sure what to do, I gazed at her my eyes widen from the sudden attack.

I wasn't sure what to think.

She gave me a reassuring smile, I was baffled by such a kind smile. Not understanding my situation I remain calm not giving her a reason to kill me. She was the same maid is it bad that I felt a slight calmness.

"Eliza, I have to be quick so listen carefully" she began to say leaving no room for interruption all the time looking at the door.

"I'm agent Al but you can call me Alex, we're here to save you" my heart leap my eyes start the burn feeling the tears filled my eyes. 'Words I only dream of hearing' I got on my knees eyes facing her fully wanting to know whether she was lying.

"Hey don't worry we'll get you out of here, I need to know where's the other girl" as soon as she said that my happy heart dropped I had no idea of where Shasha was.

"I..don't..know" I whispered my voice broke it's soreness being evident of it not being used as a few tear drop fell on my fisted hands.

"...it's okay we'll find her, I'll make sure of that" she said her voice full of trustworthiness.

I could only nod.

"The pain will be over soon, we got a plan"

I nodded fanticly

"I just want all the pain to stop, and my family" my voice broke some more.

She gave me a sad smile "and I can promise you that"

But I didn't know if she was also answering to my family. She still gave me a sad smile, a sad pang spreading through my heart.

Her eyes went back to the door, its like any minute the devil would appear.

"I'm running out of time" she mumbled under her breath.

"Okay Eliza breath easy"

"I want you to meet me at the fryer by the end of the week, just got news he'll be out"

I could only listen my glee showing through my tears. Finally my prayers were gonna be answered.

She gave me a wink before standing up and fixing her outfit taking the content of fruits on the ground before the door burst open.

He didn't say a word without a glance he walked over the mess and head into the bathroom. I quickly wipe my face sitting back on the ground.
