Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 25 | Tʜᴇ Aɴɢᴜɪsʜ

"You know if we had one more day before your honeymoon, I would've taken you for shopping. My choices are the best with lingerie." Aradhya said.

It was still early in the morning, and we both were currently in the kitchen preparing breakfast as each servant was busy cleaning up the mess. I was fine with it as I have a good habit of waking up early in the morning because of the office.

When I woke up in the morning, Ahaan and I were again cuddling, and nothing felt wrong. It's like the universe is indicating that he's the one for me, but I am not able to accept the fact as every single time my past reappears in front of my eyes. No matter how hard I try, I am not able to understand what's going on with myself. These moments of kisses always make me feel things that I am scared to experience again. Sometimes, I want to ask him why he did that and tell him on his face what all it has cost me. But he doesn't even deserve to know. I wonder if he even feels guilty about it because he behaves with me like nothing had ever happened.

I don't know if I am wrong in accepting whatever is happening. I know I shouldn't kiss him, but it's like I can't control myself. I let out all the anger, pain, and sadness that has filled inside of me of these past years in the kiss, and I feel light. I also experience this weird feeling in my stomach whenever he does these cute gestures for me or when we kiss, which I am highly scared about.

"Well, it's safe to say that I got to know about this honeymoon yesterday night. I didn't even think about it this way." I shrugged, balancing myself on the countertop.

"But still, I know ladies buy new and sexy pairs of lingerie for the honeymoon. And I can bet on it that you didn't even purchase for the wedding." She said with a known look.

"You got that right." I replied, flicking my fingers.

"You're lucky that bro is head over heels for you. I know it wouldn't even matter to him if you wore a onesie on the honeymoon. After all, he has got you by his side." She said with a playful smile on her face.

"You aren't even a bit hesitant talking about your bro's honeymoon." I commented.

"Why would I? I know everything, babe." She said with a smirk.

"Wow. From bhabhs to babe. You're absolutely going in the right direction." I said, raising my eyebrows.

"I know, right." She grinned back.

"I didn't even pack my bags yet." I said, stirring the milk.

"What? You're insane. Brides are so excited about their honeymoons that they pack even before the wedding. And look at you here." She commented, her face looking horrified.

"What's the use? My suitcases are still packed, so I'll just pick any random in those and see if the problem is solved." I replied, shrugging.

"I am not letting that happen. The first thing we are doing after breakfast is packing your bags. I need to see your pictures in amazing clothes picked by me." She said with no room left to argue.

"Okay." I agreed as I had nothing else to do.

We carried everything that we prepared for the breakfast and placed it on the dining table. No one had come yet, so we were still preparing the dining table. Soon, as everyone came.

"I hope you both are prepared with everything for your honeymoon." Papa said, looking at Ahaan and I expectantly.

"Yeah. Everything is done." Ahaan replied, nodding his head while sipping the juice.

"I am happy you agreed to go on the trip." Papa said, looking at me, with a small smile on his face.

"Why wouldn't I agree?" I frowned in confusion, sipping my juice.

"Uhh- they thought you might be tired after the wedding, so you may not agree." Ahaan said too quickly.

"Right." I nodded.

I then looked at him, clearly showing that I didn't buy his explanation. It's common for a couple to go to their honeymoon just after the wedding, so why would Papa even think I might be tired. I clearly had my suspicions about this, but I let it slide for now, making a mental note to ask Ahaan later.

"Done! I have packed everything you'll need for the trip. Not to forget, you need to add your necessities as well." Aradhya said, looking all too excited.

"Thank god, I was in no mood to pack. I am so glad I have you." I said gratefully.

"No worries." She shrugged with a smile.

"Is it okay if I say that I am still tired because of the wedding?" I questioned, sighing.

"Uh huh. Even I am. We had like nonstop fun without even sleeping." She said, nodding.7

Sitting down on the daybed, I closed my eyes for a moment. I wonder when all the tiredness is going to end. As Aradhya sat beside me, she started showing me the pictures from the wedding which she had taken. All of them looked so good that I couldn't believe this was my wedding.

We were so engrossed in laughing and teasing about different pictures that we didn't notice someone's presence in the room other than us. As we heard a clearing of throat, our heads snapped up, noticing Ahaan standing in his glory, glaring at us. I immediately frowned in confusion, seeing his expression.

"What? Why did you guys stop? Don't mind me and continue your gossip about my pictures." Ahaan said, faking a smile, and I gulped.

Looking down at Aradhya's phone in my hand, I noticed it was displaying one of Ahaan's pictures from his haldi ceremony where his expression was so funny. He looked like he was whining about something, and Aradhya clicked the exact moment. The first time I looked at the picture, I burst out laughing, and we were talking about the same just before he voiced out in the room, meaning he heard everything. I quickly scrolled down to another picture and looked up again.

"It's of no use, babe. I clearly saw what you were doing." He said, looking at me, and Aradhya faked a cough.

"I- I have something to do." With this, she ran out of the room, not before taking her phone.

"Stop calling me that." I said with a stern expression.

"What?" He questioned, sitting beside me.

"Babe." I replied, scrunching my face.

"Yes?" He said.

"Oh ho, stupid. I am not calling you, babe. I said, 'Don't call me babe.'" I replied, shaking my head.

"I know." He said, bumping his right shoulder with my left one.

This caught me off guard, resulting in me losing my balance for a second. I placed my hand on the corner of my daybed to stop myself from falling, and it worked.

"What the hell? How strong are you?" I huffed, slapping his shoulder.

"It's because I have grown with my increasing age, but you're still the same as before." He replied, causing me to raise my eyebrows at him.

"That is not true. At all. I have gained almost 5 kgs since school time." I replied proudly.

"Right. I wonder how much difference these 5 kgs have made to your body." He said with a known look.

"Whatever. You gotta stop making fun of your wife." I waved it off.

"And my wife can make fun of me? Well, isn't it unfair, wifey? " He commented with a mischievous expression.

"Yeah." I said cheekily, and he just laughed at this.

Is your packing done?" He asked, looking at me expectantly.

I nodded, pointing towards my suitcases placed in one corner of the room.

"Good. It's already 11:30 AM and we need to need to leave in an hour for the airport seeing Delhi's traffic." He said, and I nodded.

"What did Papa mean at the dining table? Don't even think about lying." I questioned with a warning at the end.

"It's exactly what I told you at the dining table. He was hesitant about your health and tiredness after the wedding." He replied, and I frowned.

"What's there to hide, Ahaan? I can tell it's not that big of a thing." I said, shaking my head a little.

"Please don't be mad." He said, looking at me expectantly.

"Just tell me goddamnit." I said, releasing a huff.

"He knows about what happened in the past with us." Came his low reply, and my eyes opened wide as saucers.

"He- he w-what?" I stammered with my heart beating loudly.

"Ky, please understand, there's nothing wrong with him knowing about it." His voice reached my ears.

"Nothing wrong? Are you saying nothing wrong? Well, it's definitely wrong for me. Do you even know how I feel now knowing the fact that he basically knows everything? It is like an insult to me." I raised my voice, looking at him clearly mad.

"He's my father, Kyra. He has the right to know what's going on with my life. And what is insulting about it? Almost everyone has a past, and even we do. There's nothing to be ashamed about what happened with us. I know my mistakes, and I am trying my best to repent it." He replied, raising his voice.

It was the first time after all these years that I heard him raising his voice at me. From the day we met after all these years, he has been nothing but sweet with me every single time. I feel a pang of hurt at this, but I tried my best not to show it.

"Wow. So he must know your actions and words for me from that night. Weren't they that good to be remembered?" I said with sarcasm dripping in my voice.

"Stop it, Ky." He said, running a hand through his hair, and at that moment, I could sense the tiredness in him.

I wondered what that tiredness was about. Is he done with me this early? Does he think I am suddenly too bratty to handle?

"You okay?" I hesitantly questioned after minutes of silence.

"Come here." He mumbled and pulled me towards him.

I squirmed a little as I wanted some time to take in what I've heard just moments ago. It's not easy for me to get to know that Papa knows. It was a very big moment of life what happened in the past, and I now feel embarrassed. He must be thinking what kind of girl I was. That desperate?

How am I going to face him the next time? What is even left in my life now? The one thing that I promised to myself was to stay away from Ahaan forever. Now, on the contrary, we are married. I didn't even want anyone to know about what happened with us. Everyone has an opinion about things, and I am not comfortable with someone knowing about it. Even from my side, it's only Dhruv and Sarah who know just because I wasn't able to handle and hide everything myself.

"No." I murmured, shaking my head and removing my hands from his grip.

In return, he only tightened the hold, and my tries went in vain. He placed his arms around me, caging completely.

"Ky, you need to understand it was hard for me as well. You have no idea what I felt from inside." I heard his voice wavering at the end.

"Why did you tell him?" I questioned with quivering lips.

"He could clearly point out something was wrong with me. No matter how hard I tried to hide or how stubborn I became, he eventually found out everything from me only. He's my father Kyra, and he was worried about me. He even threatened to tell Mom about this, and you know Mom was very strict in my teenage years. I had to let everything out to him." He replied, and I clearly sensed the guilt in his voice.

"I am sorry." I apologized lowly after some time.

"I shouldn't have said that. He's your father, and even you needed to let out everything to someone like I did at a point." I mumbled.

"I am sorry too." For the first time after he came back, I heard him apologize.

"I know how much it matters to you. But listen to me very carefully. You don't need to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable about it. He's your father as well now. And there's nothing wrong about the past as long as we talk about it and accept it for moving forward in our lives." He said softly.

"I don't want to talk about it anymore." I mumbled, and he gently removed my face from his neck and cupped them in his hands, making me look directly at him.

"Then we won't." He said and kissed my now dried tears.

I didn't even realize when I cried.

"Get ready fast. We don't have much time left." He said after some time.

I nodded in agreement, getting up from the daybed, and moved towards the closet where my suitcases were.

30 minutes later, I got myself dressed in a dress that reached a good two inches above my thighs. I wore my white sneakers for comfort and left my hair naturally open.

Never in my life was I this insecure of how I look. I was mentally crying because I looked like a clown right now. My hands and legs were covered in the remaining bits of henna from the wedding.

All I had been doing for 5 minutes was staring at myself in the big mirror from every direction. It seemed like everyone would be able to see me like this. After all, it was visible from every single direction. I was one second away from crying for the second time on the same day when I heard Ahaan's voice.

"Ky, come on, we need to leave." He said, coming inside the closet now dressed in a white t-shirt and black jeans paired with a denim jacket, looking way better than me.

"Wow." He murmured.

"What?" I said, annoyed with myself.

"Jeez woman. What a change, huh?" He replied with a smirk.

"Don't you dare say that. You are only making me feel worse about my look." I said, and it sounded like I whined.

"What? I don't understand. You really look beautiful. " He said, coming closer.

"No, I don't. Can't you see these weird bits of henna on my hands and legs?" I said with frustration, clearly evident in my tone.

"Of course I do. And that's the best part. Now everyone will know that you're my wife with this henna and that we are going to our honeymoon." He said possessively, and I blinked my eyes twice, shocked at his words.

"Y-ou-," I stuttered.

"Yes, I know what I am saying. You look absolutely breathtaking, and I am the luckiest man on the earth seeing you with this look." He replied, drawing me closer to him.

"Thanks." I whispered with a smile, feeling good all of a sudden.

Hearing his words, I feel a lot better about this situation. It's definitely an amazing thing for him to see me like this, but I just feel better with his words. I never knew it could change my opinion, but it definitely did.

"No need to thank your hubby." He said with a smirk, and I immediately blushed remembering my words from yesterday's night.

"God, you're wasting so much time. We need to leave, right?" I said, pulling his arm out of the closet.

He laughed, and I blushed even more, but controlled myself as we eventually got out of the room hand in hand. As we reached downstairs, Ma and Papa were sitting in the living room, and I saw Aradhya as well on the sofa at the corner.

"Finally! I thought you both bailed out on your honeymoon." Papa exclaimed.

I chuckled in reaction, and Ahaan just shook his head with a faint smile.

"We really don't have time for your theories, and we need to leave like right now." Ahaan said, glancing at his watch.

"Shoo away then. We aren't stopping you both." Ma said, waving her hand dismissively.

I hugged her bidding byes, which she returned, and then took blessings from Papa, to which he patted my head lovingly. This certainly made me feel good. He has not once brought up the topic of our past and always behaves normally with me like everyone else, which I am glad about. I could never be more relaxed about this. As I hugged Aradhya at the end, she didn't forget to remind me her tips about honeymoon, to which I slapped her head. She really has no shame.

Finally, I came and stood beside Ahaan, and he took my hand, leading us to the car, which was standing in the driveway.

"I hope you'll give us the news of grandchildren after the honeymoon." Ma shouted, and my cheeks turned red with eyes wide open.

"Don't worry, Mom." Ahaan shouted back and winked at me, causing me to blush even more.

I quickly sat in the car covering my face with my hair so that my tomato red cheeks weren't visible. I never knew his Mom was this blunt. Soon, we were on the way towards Delhi Airport for our flight to the honeymoon.

Sitting in the waiting area of Airport, I was scrolling through my Instagram, where all I found were pictures from my wedding. I could tell everyone enjoyed really well, including me. Ahaan was busy with the checking counter, and he just told me to wait for him, which I was doing. The best part was that we weren't traveling in his private jet as this honeymoon was a last-minute decision.

"Hey, come on, it's time for boarding." Ahaan's voice made my head snap up.

I nodded in affirmative and took my sling, which was resting beside me. As I got up from the seat, Ahaan pulled me towards him by my waist.

We made our ways towards the security check, and it took another 5 minutes to get this done. Soon, we boarded the flight, and it wasn't a surprise to me that we had our seats in first class.

I took the window seat without even asking him, and he just shook his head at my childishness, to which I smiled cheekily. He took the one beside me and took my hand in his grazing his name on my hands with the pad of his thumb, causing me to relax.

Soon, the call of the flight's take-off was made, and we fastened our seatbelts followed by the journey of our honeymoon to Greece being started.

Honeymoon it is😌
