Dong-Wook walked into the mansion with his usual confident stride as he made his way up the stairs and to Min-Su's office. He hoped that the man wouldn't ask many questions about where Runa was going to be staying or where her 'new place' was.

If he did, he could just lie and say she got a condo in Brooklyn, where his property was, and with that, he probably wouldn't ask for more information and wave him off so he could continue working. So when he knocks on the door and is called in to enter, his heart isn't racing and he isn't anxious.

At the same time, working for a man like him and being in a criminal organization, numbs the body and brain to certain feelings, meaning most of them other than anger. Anger was something everyone in this line of work thrived on and it's what kept the empires growing.

Regardless of how he felt, he knew deep in his heart that Runa was feeling much worse. The dark past of her family was thrown so abruptly her way, giving her no time to process and cope with the trauma her mother and brother went through. And yet she still had that pep in her step, she had that same glow in her eyes and didn't let anything hold her back.

He was proud of her and Jimin, and in a way proud of himself for keeping the family somewhat together while they were physically distanced. He aided both of them and in his heart, he considered them as his own, especially because he was close with their beloved mother.

Upon seeing the man who entered his office, Min-Su finally looks up from his stack of paperwork with his permanent frown, "What is it?", he asks impatiently.

"I just wanted to notify you that Runa has decided to move out. She figured that since most of the business she handles is in the city, it would be good to live there. Jungkook is going with her too obviously", the underboss speaks surely, holding in his much-needed breath of relief when Min-Su hums in response.

"Alright then, that's good with me", the man mumbles with a shrug.

"If there's nothing else, you may leave", he concludes.

With that, he went back to his work as Dong-Wook exited the office with a triumphant smile, and it soon fell when he saw the housekeepers and called them over. About ten women surround him and he instructs them to pack all of Runa's things along with Jungkook's into the van he brought.

They scurry away to complete their task in a timely fashion and the underboss takes a moment to message a certain tatted male to be ready when he arrives at his place. It only takes about three hours for the van to fill with labeled boxes. So after gesturing for the driver of the van to follow him, they stop on the way and another vehicle trails close behind.

When they arrive at the estate, Dong-Wook pays the driver and gets Jimin's housekeepers to take the boxes out and bring them to the house. He glances over at the cotton ball that exits his vehicle and looks around, his hands in the pockets of his slacks with the sleeves of his maroon dress shirt rolled up, showing off the black ink on his milky white skin.

"Damn, nice place", he mutters to himself, seemingly impressed, making the older roll his eyes.

"Follow me", he says with a sigh, feeling the ache of annoyance start growing in his chest from being around the other man.

He never liked Yoongi much, and it sucked ass to admit that the man was both smart and useful. Why couldn't Runa have dated someone else? He couldn't fault her for the situation though, Yoongi was attractive as well and they'd always been close since they were kids.

Min Yoongi was her type, he knew that, but he didn't like his cocky attitude. Or anything for that matter, so although Jimin agreed with Runa on her idea of bringing him into the inner circle, he wasn't going to be fake and act like he wanted him there. He was here for his skills, period.

When they walk into the house, Yoongi looks around and sees Runa sitting way too close next to her bodyguard on the couch, both of them discreetly sharing a conversation until their attention turns to the men who walked in. As soon as he locked eyes with her, he looked away and caught the gaze of a silver-haired male who descended the stairs in a fancy suit, which he could only assume was her brother.

"How did it go?", the man asks as he approaches Dong-Wook.

"It went fine, he didn't ask any questions", he then turns to the duo sitting in the spacious living room, "I made sure housekeeping packed everything. I triple-checked to make sure everything was there."

With a nod of appreciation from both of them, Yoongi clears his throat to make his presence known and to be introduced to her supposed brother. Jimin catches his gaze and steps forward, Yoongi eyeing him skeptically as he extends his hand for a greeting.

"I'm Runa's older brother, Park Jimin. Also the leader of the Russian mafia. It's a pleasure to meet you, Yoongi. We appreciate you helping us", he introduces with a welcoming smile, and slowly, Yoongi shook his hand to be respectful.

"It's no problem", he smoothly responds, and Jimin turns to everyone as Dong-Wook now lies on the couch.

"I'd like everyone to meet in my office. We have things to discuss", he announces, earning a groan from his consigliere who just got comfortable and had to get up once again.

Just so he wasn't suspicious or got the stink eye from her bodyguard, Yoongi kept his distance from Runa and followed close behind Jimin as they walked up the stairs and down the hall to his office. Once everyone was settled, Runa and Jungkook sitting on the couch opposite Yoongi and Dong-Wook, who scooted over dramatically to create distance between them, with Jimin seated at his desk, he was the first to speak up.

"Now that we're all here, I'd like to make one thing clear. No matter what, we must always share any information we have with each other. No secrets, no bullshit."

Once he gets a collective response of agreement, he stands to look out the window at the forest view with a frown of concentration and seriousness on his pretty face.

"Another thing, all of us must stay in constant communication with each other. If you're going somewhere, the rest of us should know in case anything happens and we know where to look."

Again, they all agree, a certain someone's eyes lingering on the woman across from him since everyone looked at Jimin as he spoke. He took the opportunity to admire her side profile and once he looked down and caught the eye of Cookie watching him and scooting closer to her owner, he turned away to follow everyone's attention.

"Now that we're all in agreement, I have a plan to take down Min-Su. Of course, there's always a risk of people dying, I don't need to tell you guys that, but I just want to put that out there. Specifically, I have a plan for Dong-Wook and Yoongi that will help give us more specific information about Min-Su's schedule and the events coming up."

That gains Yoongi's undivided attention and as they listen to Jimin's plan, he can't help but be impressed. He knew who the Executioner was and why he was called that. Any traitor would get their arms cut off by the blade of his sword, a weapon made just for him as a gift when he took after the man before him.

His sword was unbelievably sharp, one press into your skin would penetrate instantly and could slide through bones like butter. Yoongi's eyes fell upon the glorious weapon that was displayed behind the desk and on the wall. He couldn't deny the race of his heart when he saw it, both in awe of the design and fear that he'd fall victim to the blade of Jimin's sword.

Although as he listened to the plan Jimin had, ignoring the side eye Dong-Wook gave him every time he asked questions, he harbored doubt in his mind. Jimin was seriously powerful, a man that even the Gods would fear, and so was his sister. Yoongi was never one to live a harmonious life.

He embraced the chaos because he loved drama and loved the pain. That's why he was with Runa for so long and was crushed when she ended their relationship. Even if he was her sex slave, he didn't care what he had to go through as long as he'd have her back and force her to love him. He was delusional and not even his brother could stop him from fantasizing about a future with her alongside both of them.

As he's admitted before, he's love's bitch, he's a fool and he knows he doesn't deserve her for the things he's done, for what he's currently doing. He's selfish and wants her to himself, he wants all of her love, all of her attention, and all of the pain she brings him because it makes him feel alive. It makes him feel needed and important, and after all these years of desperately trying to gain her approval, he hides the smirk behind his hand when he thinks about how soon that will come.

Once Yoongi had left to go back to his place and prepare for this upcoming Sunday, the housekeeping had moved all the boxes into both Runa and Jungkook's rooms and said male walked in hers after he was finished unpacking.

"Jimin said dinner will be ready soon", he says while leaning up against the wall and watching her put away clothes in the walk-in closet.

"Good, I'm starving", she exclaims.

He hums, thinking about earlier's meeting for a moment before asking her a question once she goes to her bed to grab more clothes to put away.

"Do you trust Yoongi?"

That immediately gains her attention and she nods at her bodyguard, "I do, we've known each other so long and I can tell he still loves me. He might try to hide it but he's terrible at it."

Once she puts away the rest of her clothes, he responds, "Love makes people dangerous. Just look out for him because although I think we can trust him, I don't like him and I might be wrong. The only reason I even see him as someone we could work with is because of his history with you. Other than that, I'd prefer if he wasn't involved."

Runa sighed and sat on the bed, patting Cookie's head before turning to look at Jungkook who now stood in front of her, making her gasp in surprise. He moved so swiftly she didn't even see or hear him, like a shadow.

"I don't want to make you doubt anything. God knows that's the last thing you need right now. I'm just saying what I feel, and I wanted you to know. No matter how tough this gets, if a war breaks out, I need to know for sure you trust me wholeheartedly. Tell me you trust me with your life."

She chuckles a little, cocking her head to the side with amusement, "Jungkook, you know I-"

"Say it", he sternly cuts her off, making the smile fade from her face once she realizes how serious he's being and it confuses her.

Was he doubting himself? Why did he have such a strange tone of voice? Was he worried? No, probably not. Jeon Jungkook was never worried.

"Why are you speaking like this?", she frowns, "Is something wrong? Do you think-"

"I want to know that you trust me. That when things get bad, because believe me they will, I want to know that you know I'll put you first above any and everything else."

She stays silent for a moment, soaking in his words, and before she can reassure her confidence in him, he continues.

"If something happens to Dong-Wook, or Jimin, or Yoongi. Even myself. You must survive and I don't care what I have to do to ensure that. If I have to die for you, so be it. If someone else has to die? I won't feel guilty about it."

She liked how 'ride or die' he was for her, but she didn't like thinking negatively. Every time she did, nothing meaningful was accomplished because of the overwhelming fear and sense of doubt that was brought along with it.

Runa always acknowledged and took risks seriously, but that didn't mean she wasn't positive. It was more so her confidence that kept her resilient and calm. In the end, she knew everything would be alright and work out the way it was supposed to.

"I understand what you're saying Jungkook."

She stands up, and she smiles when he doesn't back away from being almost nose to nose with her, although she was much shorter than him and he towered over her. They were close enough to feel each other's body heat, and she wanted to be embraced again just like she was not so long ago. To feel his hand caressing her hair while his arms wrapped around her body, to remember the experience of pure relaxation and warmth.

"I know you'd die for me, and that makes me feel safe and reassured. But you're not dying. No one's dying if I can help it."

"Runa-"

She puts her hand up, and he closes his mouth and allows her to finish, "I know the risks, but it's the life I've always lived. I know I could die, I know any of us could. But I don't dwell on that. Do you know why? Because I'm not worried. I know we'll take down my father and soon, hopefully, we can figure out who this drug lord is before things get worse. I need you to give me hope, Jungkook. Even if you don't believe it, it would mean the world to me if maybe you didn't focus so much on the negative."

She steps even closer and he presses his lips together, looking into her hopeful eyes that admire his Bambi ones, "Please hug me. I need it", she whispers, embarrassed to even ask for such a thing and she already feels disappointment in her heart because she expects him to reject her and walk away.

But as soon as she looks down at her feet to hide her warm cheeks, his gloved hand tilts her chin up so he can look into her eyes. He was unreadable, but the physical contact made her melt and she didn't want to pull away.

He was so mesmerizing to her, and she couldn't even describe how much she ached to feel his embrace again. Call her needy but as someone who usually hates physical affection, now that she had a taste of it, it was addicting and made her body feel empty without it. Him more specifically.

"If you want something, take it and don't ask."

Her body burned from how thick the tension was and before she could lean in to hug him, he wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her into his body. She gasps quietly from the warmth that soothes that cold ache in her bones, and she sinks into him, enjoying the sublime scent of his aftershave and soap.

Her head rested upon his buff chest, and she wrapped her arms tight around his waist as he started to stroke her hair with his gloved hand. It would've been nice to feel his skin for a change, but she doesn't complain and instead enjoys the peace.

Jungkook felt so warm looking down at her and he couldn't hold back the urge to touch her hair and stroke her head to make her feel safe. He wondered what it would feel like in his bare hand. If it was as silky and soft as it looked. He thought of leaning down to subtly sniff her hair, but that was way too intimate and there was no way he would do that.

He dismisses the many thoughts he gets and just enjoys this intimacy between them. For the first time in his life, he doesn't hate physical affection. Hell, as soon as she requested it, it made his blood pulse and his heart beat a little faster than usual. He never got like this, he never wanted to hug anyone but he remembers seeing her cry for the first time.

As someone who was emotionally numb, it was a shock to feel empathy towards another and want to comfort them. This isn't him, and yet with every day that passed, he found himself becoming less and less of who he was in the past and becoming someone new, a better version of himself. He was comfortable in her arms, he felt pride in himself to know that she wanted him to touch her, it only confirmed what he knew to be true.

She feels safe with me. As her protector, there wasn't much more that he could want. His question was answered both verbally and physically. He knows this must be new for her too, asking for a hug was so embarrassing that she looked away from him which she didn't normally do. But he liked it, he liked to see her face get red and it seemed that every minute he spent with her, he was opening up.

Not just physically but emotionally too. She knew things about him that he's never told a soul, things she probably shouldn't know but in his mind, since he knew so much about her and shared an intimate relationship that felt a little more than just being her bodyguard and friend, he didn't mind telling her about his past life, no matter how unpleasant it was.

Everything with her felt right, he knew he was at home and could be appreciated for who he kept hidden inside and parts that he didn't know existed. She brought out the best in him, and this hug was everything he'd ever needed to confirm what he believed in.

No matter what happens, they will be standing next to each other through everything and he promised to be right here with her. Suddenly, a knock on the door made the two pull away hastily as she started to busy herself with taking more stuff out of the boxes, and he leaned against the wall watching her.

"Yes?", she calls out with a racing heart, thanking any Gods above that no one busted in and saw their little moment.

"Miss Kang, dinner has been served and your brother is waiting for you in the dining room", one of the housekeepers announces which calms her pounding heart as she continues organizing to pretend she wasn't flustered.

"Thank you, I'll be down in a moment", she responds and the padding of light footsteps can be heard walking away.

Taking in a deep breath, she doesn't look at him as she calls for Cookie to follow her out of the bedroom, "Let's go."

When they all start eating, Runa can't help but steal glances over at Jungkook who finally starts to eat. She'd never even seen him eat before, and she didn't know why it was so mesmerizing to watch but she does every so often. Was it the way his jaw clenched and how he looked hot with that frown of concentration on his face?

My god, she was so thirsty and as soon he caught her heated gaze, she looked away and continued eating, hoping that her burning face wasn't too visible although she knew that even if the room was pitch black, he'd know she was blushing.

Of course, during their open conversation, Jimin sends a wink her way and it only makes her even more embarrassed to know she was caught. Even more so when she sees that teasing smirk on the consigliere's face as he sips his wine. Jesus...and to think I was being subtle.

💎🗡️💎🗡️💎🗡️

D-Day had arrived. Meaning the first part of the plan would dictate how the rest of it went. Either good or bad, and so while Jimin did work in his office, Runa in hers since she had a space as well, they all waited patiently until Dong-Wook and Yoongi came back from their little mission.

None of them were too worried, Jungkook was playing with Cookie in the backyard, throwing the ball a few times with yesterday still on his mind. Runa had people to call, her usual business as a capo to handle and Jimin had his to-do list to complete, whatever that consisted of.

Both the underboss and Min heir were not ecstatic to be worms on the hook, but there was no other choice. Dong-Wook knew that today Min-Su had business in the city and housekeeping was never around on Sundays until later in the evening. The tatted male kept a frown on his face as they drove up to the gates of the Kang Residence.

Both of them hoped that there would be no change of plans because God forbid that happened and they'd get caught red-handed. As soon as Dong-Wook's vehicle was parked, he went up to the guards and talked with them as a diversion so they didn't see Yoongi sneak through the bushes to the other side of the house.

Once he knew he was in the clear, the older male went inside and headed to the double doors in the main room. He could see Yoongi's impatience, his hands on his hips as his tongue poked his cheek with a raised brow, waiting for the man to open the door. Upon seeing that face, the older male had a playful grin as he slowly but surely approached the male on the other side who nervously looked around to make sure no guard was patrolling the grounds.

"Let me in", the man mouths the words so he isn't heard, and Dong-Wook waves through the glass teasingly before unlocking the doors and letting him in.

"Let's go", he simply says with that same grin on his face as the man who trails behind him and curses under his breath, his anxiety at its peak due to that petty stunt.

Luckily, Min-Su's office was left unlocked. Very bad for the mafia boss, because his shit was about to get hacked. As soon as they got in and Dong-Wook locked the doors, the white-haired male made his way to the other side of the desk and took out his phone and a hard drive from his pants pocket.

"Get this done fast, we don't have all damn day now", Dong-Wook says with a stern look, taking great pleasure in knowing the white-haired man reciprocated the annoyance he felt.

He liked to bother the younger, and when he gets a sharp glare in return, he succeeds in doing so and waits impatiently as Yoongi connects his phone to Min-Su's computer and turns it on, using his skills to log in and download all the saved history and files from the device into the hard drive.

"Hurry up", Dong-Wook says lowly just to piss the male off and get a laugh out of it.

"Patience is a virtue, Dong-Wook. Learn it some time", Yoongi responds smoothly, too immersed in his work to fully get upset by the man who was intentionally poking fun.

In response, the underboss just folded his arms across his chest and narrowed his eyes, completely changing the subject, "I still don't understand you, and I don't think I ever will. But I don't care. I don't like you."

Yoongi simply shrugs, "Cool. Not many do."

"It's a wonder as to why you're still alive", the older man scoffs, judgmentally eyeing the Min heir up and down.

And to that, Yoongi clicks his tongue with agitation, typing fast across the keyboard and hoping the process would speed up so he could hear less bickering, "I'm a Min. We don't die easily. And I know how to not get myself killed. I'm in it with the right people."

"Oh, yeah? What's that supposed to mean?", Dong-Wook asks with an accusatory tone, like he was hoping for the latter to slip up and tell on himself.

The tatted male sighs heavily in response with a deadpan expression, "I just mean I know who to get involved with. Meaning I know who to trust and who not to. Now get off my back and let me finish this. I hate being here as much as you do."

Although it would be most unfortunate if Yoongi was a traitor, he might be better off away from all of this. Unlike Jimin and Runa who saw reason in him becoming a part of this plan, he could see why only because of the skills he had. But he hated his eyes, those cat-like eyes that were full of  secrets.

His distaste for the male was evident ever since he was a teenager and was always around Runa. As a man, he knew that look in his eyes, and although she was mature enough to make her own decisions and still is because she's now an adult, it doesn't mean he feels right about him or their past relationship.

He knows it isn't his business and quite frankly, he has many skeletons in his closet too. But something about Yoongi was off-putting, ever since he was old enough to know about his family's business and the power his name held. There was always an unsettling nerve in the man's gut whenever he was around, but he passed it off as being paranoid because of Yoongi's inappropriate feelings towards the one he saw as a daughter.

"Are you done yet?"

Yoongi grits his teeth together, his jaw clenching with annoyance as he sees the downloading progress bar is only at 53% and it's been a few minutes. The tension continued to rise and not just because they didn't want to get caught and have a bloody mess on their hands. But because the underboss was purposefully trying to tick him off, knowing of the man's short temper that started to fester within his body.

"Yes, I have done what I needed to do. It's the computer that does the rest of the work. Now for the last time, stop fucking bugging me. I'm doing this as quickly as I can."

The underboss whines mockingly in amusement, "No wonder Runa dumped your ass. You can't handle any pressure."

Immediately Yoongi straightens up and sassily folds his arms together, mirroring Dong-Wook, "The fuck does that mean?"

"Oh, nothing. It just means that you're an annoying little bastard and-"

Yoongi cuts him off, "Look here, I'm not the enemy so stop treating me as such. I'm risking my life to help you guys. I could easily go back to my own business and forget about this whole thing. But who else knows what I know? Who else is a better hacker than me with the resources and technology I have? Hm? Riddle me that", he spits out angrily, slightly breathless from his outburst that he remembered to keep a little lower in volume.

The underboss just rolls his eyes with a sigh, low-key enjoying fighting with the man because he just liked to make his life harder than it needed to be, "Humble yourself, boy. You might be smart but that doesn't mean you're all that just cause you got the Min name. That wasn't enough to keep Runa around, was it?"

"You fucking-"

Before Yoongi could throw hands, the computer beeps and the downloading process has been completed. Sending one last glare towards the grinning male, Yoongi deletes all the footage from the past twenty minutes on all CCTV systems around the mansion within just a few keystrokes, and pauses them so they don't record them leaving.

He then shuts off the computer and puts the small cord, his phone, and the hard drive in his pocket before brushing past Dong-Wook, peeking out the office to make sure no one was in sight before they snuck out and Yoongi exited through the double doors, Dong-Wook locking them and exiting through the main entrance.

Once he starts the car and Yoongi sneaks out of the bushes to subtly get in the passenger seat without gaining the guard's attention, he rushes him to quickly drive off and once they're out of the gates, the tatted man releases a deep breath as his heart starts to calm down.

He was in his head the whole ride, and before he knew it, they were driving through the gates of Jimin's estate. As soon as they circled the driveway and parked in front of Runa's Porsche, Yoongi got out and made his way into Jimin's office with the underboss following behind him, thankfully not opening his mouth again.

Upon hearing a knock on his door, Jimin calls for them to enter and lets out a sigh of relief when he observes their expressions to see no stress or worry upon them, indicating that it was a success.

"Everything went smoothly I take it?"

His answer is confirmed when Yoongi hands him the hard drive with a nod, "Yeah, we erased the camera footage and paused the live feed as well so we weren't caught."

Jimin hums in approval, twirling the little chip between his small fingers, "Good, you're dismissed. I'll call you tomorrow and let you know when we start the next step of our plan."

"Alright, take care."

When Jimin bids him farewell, and receives an eye roll from the consigliere, Yoongi makes his way out of the office and down the staircase. A part of him wanted to see Runa, but he knew that wouldn't be likely because she was busy and her guard dog, both of them, wouldn't like seeing him near her.

So with a tinge of disappointment in his heart, he gets in his car and drives back into the city where he has some business to handle. On the way, he called his boss and luckily, he had picked up.

"Hey, the plan has started officially. I'm helping them out and they trust me."

The man on the other side hums with appreciation, "Good, pretend you're their friend, and remember that no matter what happens, don't ever forget who you're loyal to. Don't fuck this up, Yoongi. I mean that."

That earns a scoff in response, the tatted male getting slightly offended at what the man insinuated, "You think I'll betray you for a piece of pussy? To feel welcomed in their little dysfunctional family? No, I know where my loyalties lie brother. And I don't need you doubting me when we're this close to getting everything we've ever wanted. I thought you said you loved me?", he says comically towards the end.

"I do, but don't think you won't get a punishment if I find out you opened your mouth to the wrong person. I don't think you will, but love makes men unpredictable and-"

"I'll get the job done, alright? There's no need to worry. Besides, if I fuck things up now, I'll lose her forever", Yoongi spits out defensively, and the man on the other side of the phone chuckles.

"I trust you, Yoongi. I just want to make sure the very scent of her isn't making you lose yourself. We both know how hard you love. Too hard in my opinion", he retorts.

The sad fact was true and a part of him felt melancholic at the mention of it, so his tone softened just a bit, "I can't help it. She's all I've ever had. None of my power and money has ever made me feel the way she does. Maybe someday you'll understand, but I pray to God you don't."

The man exclaims with curiosity, "Oh? Why do you say that?"

Yoongi stops his car in a parking space, taking out the Polaroid picture from his pocket of both him and Runa posed in front of a dead body, one of the men they've killed together. It was a precious memory, even if it burned his skin just holding it. So he puts it back in the glove box and slams it shut.

"Because love will burn you worse than any fire. It will boil your blood, melt the skin off your bones, and make you feel as if you're worse than dead. Love is a bitch and although there's nothing I'd trade for it in the world, it has made me weak and destroyed me."

The man on the other side can't help but laugh even when Yoongi was being dead serious, and he was too wrapped up in his thoughts about her to feel offended, "Wow. Ain't love grand."
