Nova's POV

I have to stay in the hospital for a week before I am strong enough to go back home. I still haven't told Oct or mom what happened. Why I did this. No one knows. No one but me...

I walk into the house and lie down on the sofa. My head is killing me. Oct walks to me with a plate of scrambled eggs and two pancakes. My usually favorite breakfast.

"Eat Nova." she says.

I don't reply. She sighs and places the plate carefully on the table and goes upstairs.

Mom comes over to me.

"Nova, I have to go to work baby. You will be fine right?" she asks.

I just continue staring at the wall ahead of me. Mom bends to place a gentle kiss on my forehead, and I can feel tears forming in my eyes. She eyes the plate of food.

"You should eat Nova. You need the strength. Oct's going to stay at home. If you need anything just call her." she says.

She sighs with a sad smile on her face when I don't reply, and leaves for work. Tears stream out of my face as I keep reliving that evening. My stomach feels empty, but I leave the food, untouched, on the table.

I wake up when I hear noises. I open my eyes to see Oct sitting on the other sofa, watching tv.

"Hey! How are you feeling?." she says, pausing the movie she was watching, Divergent.

Oct's POV

Mom let me stay home today, because someone needs to take care and look after Nova, considering the state she is in. Mom has to go to work, because her manager threatened to fire her if she didn't go.

I finish my shower and walk down the stairs. I see Nova, asleep on the sofa. The scrambled eggs and pancakes are left, untouched, on the table. The doctor had told her to eat. I sigh as I watch her sleep peacefully.

I walk into the kitchen to grab my own plate and fill it with scrambled eggs and microwave two pancakes. After putting ketchup on my eggs and maple syrup on my pancakes, I go and sit on the one-seat sofa. I grab the remote and turn the tv on. I go into Netflix, and decide to watch Divergent, my and Nova's favorite movie.

I am in the middle of Divergent when Nova wakes up.

"Hey! How are you feeling." I say, pausing the movie.

She just nods. I am determined to get her talking. Putting my now empty plate and the remote on the table.

Nova sits up, and I sit next to her. I gently place a hand on her shoulder.

"Nove." I say. She doesn't say anything. "If you ever want to tell me something, you can." I say quietly.

She looks at me, her eyes brimming with tears. She suddenly stars sobbing into my shoulder. I gently pat her, calming her down, and she opens up to me.

I was so angry when Nova told me what happened that day. We watched our favorite movies all day, and ordered pizza for lunch. 

Dash stays with Nova all the time. He loves her so much, and I can see that Nova feels grateful for him.

The front door opens when we are watching The Hunger Games. Mom walks into the house, and goes upstairs. Twenty minutes later, she walks back down the stairs, and looks at me, gesturing to the kitchen.

"Hey Nove, want popcorn?" I ask.

She nods. I walk into the kitchen. I turn on the popcorn maker, and mom asks me what happened. I tell her everything Nova told me, and she listens. After the popcorn is finished, I put butter on it, and we both walk out into the living room. Mom pauses the movie, and we both sit on either side of Nova. She looks down at her hands which are fidgeting in her lap.

"Nova." mom says gently.

A tear falls into Nova's lap.

"Baby, we are moving." mom says.

Nova looks up.

Mom nods.

"That is what you need the most. You need to start a new life...we all need to..."
