Nova's POV
I wake up to my dog barking before my alarm clock does.

"Nova!" mom yells from downstairs, probably in the kitchen. She still can't tell the difference between Barker-Dash, my dog, barking, and a random dog barking that I set as my alarm clock ringtone.

"Mom, its Dash, not my alarm." I yell back.

"November Topaz Rainhart, wake up this instant or you will miss the bus." Mom says from my doorway.

"Ugh! Go wake up Oct mom. I need sleep, I was up all night."

"Doing what young lady?" mom inquires.

"Watching the volleyball game mommm." I reply, half asleep.

"Well, it serves you right." She says before going back downstairs. She probably burnt the microwavable pancakes. Again. I mean, how hard is it to just microwave pancakes? Honestly, I have no clue. And, I'm not gonna question my mom's TERRIBLE cooking skills. Man, I am better at cooking than her.

I fall back to sleep without knowing it, and this time, I wake up to my mom yelling.

"NOVA! GET YOUR SORRY, LAZY ASS OUT OF BED RIGHT NOW!!!" she yells. Yea, my mom is a complete weirdo. And an even bigger hypocrite, honestly.

"I'm up mom," I yell back to her as I walk into my bathroom. After I take a shower and brush my teeth, I am stuck between my three favorite hoodies, the yellow one, green one, and the blue one. Finally, I decide to wear my yellow hoodie with some black jeans. I am obsessed with hoodies, so that's usually what I wear almost everyday.

After I get ready, I walk into my twin sister, October's room. Its a funny story, actually, about how we were named. She was born a minute before it turned November 1. Me, on the other hand, I was born three minutes after her. So my parents decided to name me November Topaz Rainhart, November being my birth month, and Topaz being my birthstone. And my sister, her middle name is Opal, October's birthstone. Another thing, we are identical twins, except for our eye color. My eye color is a golden brown, the color of my birthstone while Oct's are green, the usual color of her birthstone. Yea, I know, ironic.

When I walk into October's room, she was doing her make-up, as usual. Another thing, she is a girly-girl while I am the tomboy. She is all pink, pretty, dresses, and make-up, while I am all sports (mostly soccer and volleyball), green/blue, and hoodies. I don't know how we are sisters, and most importantly, how we are twins.

"Hey Nova." she greets me.

"Hi. Ready for Sophmore year?" I ask. She nods while doing her mascara on her cheeks. Wait, no, i think it was called foundation? or was it blush? no wait, it was called eyeliner. Hang on, eyeliner is probably for the eyes, it has the word in it. So it is mascara? Ok, well, now you know how much I suck at make-up supplies.

"You should put on some mascara sis," Oct says.

"Wait, that's the one that your putting on your cheeks, right?" I ask. She stares at me in disbelief.

"Um, so I am guessing i'm wrong then?" I say.

"Man, I cannot believe your my sister." She replies.

"Jeez, no need to throw me shade sis." I say, putting my hands up in mock surrender. She chuckles and shakes her head and goes back to doing her mascara or blush, or foundation, or ugh whatever.. her make-up.

"Nova, Oct, your gonna miss the bus. Hurry up because neither of you are leaving this house without eating breakfast." We hear mom say to us from downstairs. After Oct finishes doing her make up, we go downstairs and shove pancakes into our mouths. After, we are off.
