Steady
~Four Days Later~
"Miiiiiin stop itttt."
Jimin ignores your cries, nuzzling up to your side and kissing your neck more. God damn this boy. He giggles at your groans, holding your waist. "Come on, I just want to mark you," he mumbles against your skin, his teeth gently nibbling on you. He moves to your nape, kissing and sucking softly. "Min," you whine again, but he still ignores you.
After four days of going back and forth, you think you're finally ready to give Jimin an answer. You're in his apartment, the two of you cooking together. He's back-hugging you, his arms around your body as his lips move across your skin. He's been so affection, so caring. He's clearly trying to make up for what he did. You've fully forgiven him now, mostly because he seems to genuinely care. You're scared of having sex with him again, so for now, you promised yourself to take things slow. And that's how your eighth goal came into being.
8) Take things slow with him
He rocks your body back and forth as you smell the ramen, making sure it looks good. It's nothing special, just the classic college kid meal, but it's enough. Doing it together makes it feel... better, in a way. "Smells delicious babe," he praises, kissing your cheek. "Done marking me?" you tease. "What? I have to mark what's mine," he mumbles, going back to your neck.
He bites gently, leaving small bruises that once again, you'll have to cover tomorrow. "Don't cover these princess, I want to show you off to all my friends." So much for covering them. You sigh, turning off the heat to the stove before turning around. He reluctantly backs away, giving you a soft look. "Everything okay?" You do a firm nod... but you quickly get nervous. Just say it. One word. "Yes."
Jimin's confused to say the least. "Yes? Huh?" You let out a shaky breath, "you asked me to be yours. My answer is ye-" He instantly kisses you, making you giggle before kissing back. He picks up your thighs, moving to the side and placing you on the counter, making sure you're away from the stove. He kisses you aggressively, pouring all his passion into this one action.
"Thank you," he mutters as he pulls back. "No... thank you. I'm glad we made up." He kisses you softly again, but only for a few seconds. "Me too. Let me know if I do anything too much, okay?" You hum, pecking his nose. "I will, don't worry." He smiles, "do you uh... maybe... I don't know..." "Hm?" you ask, leaning forward. "Do you want to go on a date?" he blurts, turning red. "When?" "It doesn't matter to me. We could go to the carnival. How about two days from now?" "Works for me."
He kisses you again. That's another thing: he hasn't been kissing you on the lips, he was clearly holding back so you didn't get uncomfortable. When he pulls back, he gives you the softest look humanly possible. "Can we get the others together?" "We'll see them around campus, won't we?" you question. "After our cute little lunch yeah, but I want to announce to all of them that you're mine."
You smile, "okay, then sure, we can tell them to meet us like... what, near the library?" "Study group!" he chimes, kissing your nose. You giggle, holding him close. "I can't wait to tell everyone that you're finally mine... you're really mine," he mutters, bringing you into a hug even though you're still on the counter. You accept it, his head falling to your shoulder. "Damn you even smell good," he mumbles. "That's just the ramen, don't give me too much credit," you tease, making him chuckle. "I really like you, Y/N," he whispers, his tone suddenly serious. You sigh, closing your eyes and giving him a squeeze. "I really like you too, Jimin."

The library isn't too busy, so it's pretty easy to locate the big friend group. All the boys - including Hoseok - are here. They're sitting at a round table, Jimin approaching while holding Y/N's hand. Tae is the only one who knows that Jimin and her made up, the others still don't unless Y/N told them.
"Hey guys... I have an announcement," Jimin says, smiling. Y/N smiles with him, looking at him with admiration. He can certainly get used to this. "Let's hear it," Namjoon says, leaning back in his chair, a pencil tucked on the top of his ear. "Y/N and I are officially together!" Jimin squeals, then realizes he's in a library and lowers his tone. "We're dating," he says, much softer.
Jungkook goes pale, the others smiling and gently clapping for them. Hoseok seems confused but still shoots Y/N a smile. Clearly there's some confusion in the air, so Jimin and her sit. "A few days ago, her and I talked everything out and decided to start over." "Fast forward to now... we decided to put our past behind us and get together," Y/N finishes, Jimin nodding to confirm her story.
"So that's where the roses came from," Chaeyoung gasps out. Jimin hums, "long story short: I was an absolute prick to her. I probably don't deserve a second chance but..." he pauses, looking at her, "I'm glad she gave me one. Now I'm going to make sure I'm the best boyfriend in the world."
Jungkook is still quiet as Jimin and Y/N take their seats, the others looking at the boy with sympathy. Jimin feels bad but... he really likes Y/N. A lot, and after everything he's been through relationship-wise, he feels like he needs a fresh start. He doesn't want to hurt Jungkook, but truthfully, Jungkook never told Jimin about his crush anyway. He heard from outside sources. Plus, what kind of friend would Jimin be if he didn't try and get Tae and Jungkook together? Maybe this can help them out.
"So... together..." Jungkook murmurs, looking at Y/N, "are you happy?" She nods, determined, "yeah. If this little boy messes up one more time, don't worry, I'll beat him up myself." "I'm not that little!" Jimin whines. For a split second, her eyes flicker down to his lower half, but she quickly flicks them back up to meet his face. Why this little bastard. Looking at his lower half... is she insane?
Jimin smirks, "anyway... how about we talk about our plans for the day." "Are we supposed to have plans?" Yoongi grumbles, barely awake. "Other than classes I don't know, that's why I'm asking," Jimin replies, leaning forward. "Well, we could have a celebration dinner," Taehyung suggests. "My place!" Jin squeals, "I love that idea!" Jin takes a moment, then turns to Jimin.
"You." "Me," Jimin replies, confused. "If you hurt her, I'll break your spine," Jin hisses. Y/N giggles, "don't worry Jin, if he hurts me I'll help you break his spine." Jimin smiles, "I fucked up once, I won't do it again. I learned the hard way that sophomore year is boring without her." "Am I not entertaining enough for you?" Taehyung asks. Jimin laughs, "no, not really." "Wow." The group shares a laugh, all except Jungkook.
Damn, now Jimin feels really bad. Mostly because he knows how Jungkook feels. That night, when he saw him and her at the lake? He cried on his way home and that was when they knew each other for like two minutes. Jimin frowns, averting his eyes from Jungkook. It's such a difficult situation. On one hand, he wants to apologize to Kook. On the other, it's Y/N's choice, not Jimin or Jungkook's. If he were to confess to her, would she say yes?
He hesitantly looks at her, but her eyes are on Jin as the two converse, everyone paying attention to their conversation except for Jimin and Jungkook. Jungkook definitely treated her better than he did... would she leave Jimin for him? He certainly hopes not, but it's a fear he has to have. He gulps down his feelings, deciding to instead focus on the group. One thing's for sure - today's going to be a long day...
~~~
"Why did it have to be our place again?" Namjoon asks, earning him a scoff from Jin. "Because we're nice people and let's be honest - no one can cook chicken like me." Jimin furrows his brows, watching the two bicker like a married couple while he leans against the counter. "Okay but now I have to help you cook." "Nu-uh, don't go anywhere near the stove you'll break it," Jin replies, "and for the record, you don't have to do anything Momjoon." "I regret moving in with you," Namjoon mumbles. "Move out then, see how long you last without my cooking," Jin says, a hint of sass in his tone. "Are you two dating?" Jimin asks, causing the two to jump and turn around. "Jeez I forgot you were there," Jin groans. "To answer your question - no," Namjoon clarifies.
"What Namjoon means is only in his dreams could he date a man like me," Jin says with a sigh. "I give up. I'm going to read in my room. Good luck with him Jimin." Namjoon pats Jimin on the shoulder as he walks by, "and congratulations. You two look good together." Jimin sheepishly smiles, "thank you... it feels good having her."
Namjoon nods and smiles before walking off, leaving for his room. Now it's Jin and him. The others should be here any minute now, with Chaeyoung and Y/N arriving last. The boys, being the gentlemen they are, all agreed to set up while the girls came later in nice dresses. Jimin himself is wearing nicer clothes. Black jeans and a white button down shirt, his black hair nicely brushed and parted in two directions, revealing his forehead. The 'deadly forehead' as some have called it.
"How much longer until it's ready?" Jimin asks, coming closer. "Ten minutes. It's not easy making food for nine people." Jimin mentally counts. Seven boys plus two girls... nine. Okay, yeah. Nine servings isn't easy. Before Jimin can say anything else, there's a knock at the door. He hums, "I'll get it." As soon as he says the words he walks over, throwing open the door to be greeted by the other boys.
"Wow you guys are all here on time," Jimin teases. They snicker, walking inside. They all seem smiley and giggly... except for Jungkook. Jimin frowns, watching as the boy quietly walks inside. As soon as the door is closed, Jimin places his hand on Jungkook's shoulder. He jumps, turning to face Jimin. "You okay?" Jimin asks even though he already knows the answer.
Jungkook forces a smile, "yeah. I'm happy for you, I'm glad you decided to treat her right." Jimin nods, "look... I know that I treated her so horribly before that you didn't want to be friends with me after it but... I promise I'll treat her right this time. I really like her. More than I've liked anyone, if I'm being honest. For the first time in over a year, I have faith in relationships again... because of her."
He stares at Jimin for a moment, then sighs. "Alright, I'll trust you on this one. Please don't hurt her. Please." Jimin hums, "if I do, you have my permission to slap me." Jungkook softly smiles, giving Jimin a firm nod before slipping away. Huh, that didn't go as badly as Jimin thought it would.
For the next ten minutes, the crew of boys goes around helping Jin with the food, Namjoon eventually coming out to join. Soon enough, the chicken is done, and there's another knock at the door. Jimin is currently washing his hands, so Jungkook goes over and opens the door. Jimin and Jin keep washing their hands as Jungkook greets Y/N and Chaeyoung, taking turns hugging them. Jimin tries to see them, but he's blocked by Jin's massive shoulders. God damn those worldwide shoulders.
He quickly dries his hands, practically sprinting over to the door. As soon as Jungkook steps away from her, Jimin's jaw drops. Y/N stands there, wearing a beautiful, short red dress. It hugs her body, not too revealing, but it shows off her curves that's for damn sure. Jimin stares at her with an open mouth, blinking slowly as if not believing what he's seeing is real.
She notices his stare and giggles, walking up to him. "God damn baby," he murmurs, his hands going for her hips. She softly smiles, her face inches away from his. "You look so gorgeous," he whispers, bringing one hand up to her cheek. He brushes his thumb across her skin, giving her a small smile. "Thank you... you look amazing too." She motions to his appearance, but he shrugs. "Nothing compared to you."
Y/N shakes her head, "are you kidding? You're beautiful Min." He kisses her cheek, softly chuckling. "Thank you princess. Ready to eat?" She hums, "very ready." Jimin guides her to the table, pulling a chair out for her. The girls sit, Jungkook and Hoseok sitting with them. Tae is quick to greet Chaeyoung, talking her ear off about how he missed her so much. Those two are good friends, Jimin can't help but admire that. Jimin on the other hand is helping Jin in the kitchen with distributing the food. The table isn't big enough to fit all those people, so only six people can sit while the rest stand. Jimin, of course, would rather have his girl and his friends sit, so he gives them the opportunity first.
By the time everything is handed out, Chaeyoung, Y/N, Jungkook, Hoseok, Jin (since he cooked), and Taehyung are sitting. That leaves Jimin, Yoongi, and Namjoon standing. Namjoon silently eats his chicken, placing his plate on the counter and going at it. Jimin looks at him strangely but doesn't question it, instead turning to Yoongi while the others erupt in laughter, talking extremely loudly about their classes and teachers.
"Now since you two are together, does that mean you'll finally shut up about her?" Yoongi asks. "Oh not at all, you'll be hearing about her every day." "Great," Yoongi mumbles, shaking his head. "Sorry Yoons, but at least it gives you an excuse to zone out and not listen to me." "I do that anyway."
Namjoon raises a brow at the two of them, "okay I'm confused... it's Jimin and Y/N who are dating, right?" Jimin purses his lips, "uh, yeah, who else would I be dating?" "Yoongi." Yoongi scrunches up his face in disgust, "you think I'd date Jimin?" "Definitely," Namjoon replies, nodding. "Wow," Yoongi mutters, shaking his head.
Jimin looks over at Y/N, watching as she smiles, laughing at something Jin said. Probably a dad joke he's so known for telling. That's why Jin likes her so much - she laughs at all his jokes. Jimin leans against the counter, smiling like an idiot as she keeps laughing. Y/N is like Jimin, she laughs easily. It's a good trait to have. Not only does it boost other's confidence, but it also brings more joy when you laugh at everything. Makes life more interesting.
Yoongi notices his gaze and softly snorts. "Really?" "What?" Jimin asks back. He turns to meet Yoongi's eyes, Namjoon leaning in to listen to everything Jimin says. "I really like her... I don't know why, but I do," he whispers. "We can tell," Yoongi comments. Namjoon nudges Yoongi's shoulder, "give him a break, he's in love." Jimin instantly turns red, "I-I'm not in love." "That's the look and stutter of someone in love," Yoongi points out, giving Jimin a blank expression.
Jimin decides against replying, instead, he turns away, looking at Y/N again. This time she's talking to Jungkook, who's shyly smiling and talking back. He feels a spike of jealousy but doesn't act on it. No, that would be toxic. Don't do that Jimin. Let the girl have friends, even if they're secretly in love with her. Jimin's left eye twitches at the thought, but he trusts her... probably. He wouldn't blame her if she went for him instead of Jimin. He frowns but doesn't speak, averting his eyes from the scene. No... this is a happy moment, Y/N is his. Just because Jungkook likes her doesn't mean anything. Jimin trusts Jungkook and her, they wouldn't do anything. He knows that.
Namjoon places a hand on Jimin's shoulder, making him jump. "Jesus Joonie," Jimin lets out, breathing heavily. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to tell you something." He raises a brow, "and what wisdom does Kim Namjoon wish to bestow on me today?" "Bestow? Big word for you," Yoongi remarks. Both Joon and Jimin shoot him a death glare, causing him to back off.
"Y/N's good for you... I hope you're not bad for her." "I'm not a playboy anymore Joon, I promise," Jimin replies. Namjoon nods, "I hope so. She's one of the kindest people I've ever met, and clearly she's proved that by giving you a second chance." Jimin sadly nods, "I wish she didn't have to give me one at all." "I know, which is why I just wanted to tell you to take care of her. Please." Jimin nods, "don't worry..." He looks at Y/N, who looks back and shoots him a cute smile he's quick to return. "I'm not letting her go..."
"Never again."
