FALLON CRIED OUT as two police officers came in a roughly removed her mother from their home. She wanted so badly to explain to the police that her father deserved it, that he was a piece of shit and he didn't deserve the heroic funeral that his buddies on the force were going to plan. She hated her father but a part of her was hurt, she never felt what it was like to have a normal relationship with her parents. Her father hated her from the moment she was able to express herself and her mother was too weak to stop him from taking his anger out on them.

"Call your grandmother. Tell her what happened and that they need to come back to town for a while." Her mother looked at her with an apologetic look before she was shoved into the back of the police car.

Just as they shut the door, Christopher pulled in front of the house. Grace climbed out of the car before he could even fully park it, she rushed over to Fallon who was a complete mess. One of the EMTs assisted her into the back of one of the ambulances. They lifted her shirt up and examined her. If he had punched her any harder, she would've had a broken rib. They gave Fallon an ice pack to put on her chest, to reduce swelling and some low-grade pain killers. She made a mental note to call up Fez for some Oxy later.

"What the hell happened?" Grace asked wiping the tears that fell from her face. Fallon couldn't speak, she felt like she was shriveling up into a ball of nothing. She couldn't bring herself to speak, the words couldn't form in her mind. Even with Grace standing in front of her with an impatient look, she remained silent.

Grace stepped away from Fallon as they carried out a covered up body. She put two and two together and began sobbing. Her parents were gone, her father was dead and she would probably never see her mother again.

Once everything settled, Fallon locked herself in her bedroom. She sent Fez a message and told him to bring her something for the pain as soon as possible. He replied quickly.

Fez ❤️: be there in 5

She threw her phone on the floor and bundled up under her blanket. She felt like she was still in shock, it didn't seem real. She was hoping that it was a dream, that she would go downstairs and her mother would be smoking a cigarette with her radio playing lightly. After a while, a gentle knock sounded off at her door. She didn't answer, assuming it was Grace.

The door was pushed open revealing Fez. "Did someone call for some painkillers?" He asked playfully, unaware of the situation that had just taken place. Fallon pulled herself up into a seating position, Fez noticed the state she was in and took a seat next to her. "Yo, you good?" He asked gazing at the now fully visible bruise that took over her chest.

Her eyes were puffy, her hair was a mess and her whole body was hurting. "I'm just in a lot of pain right now." She spoke in a monotone voice. She wasn't exactly sure how she would explain her situation so she decided to not tell anyone. People would find out anyway once it hit the news, she just couldn't find the right words herself.

She took the pills from Fez and popped two into her mouth before taking a small sip of water. "Your money is in the top drawer of my nightstand. You can get it and leave." She mumbled as she rolled back into her previous position. He looked at her with a concerned look, he knew something was going on with her but he just couldn't figure it out.

"You sure, you don't want me to stay." He asked in a gentle voice. She sat up abruptly, she glared at him for a moment before finally speaking.

"No! I don't want you to stay, I just want to be alone!" She picked up a pillow from her bed and tossed it at him, he caught it and threw it back onto the bottom of her bed. He went out and shut the door behind himself before bumping into Christopher on the way out.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He glared at Fez. He knew what he did to make money and he didn't want that shit anywhere near his house.

"Not lookin' for no problems man. Just here to handle business with a friend." He made his way down the stairs and out of the front door.

Chris let out a huff and pushed Fallon's door open a bit. "Grams will be here soon. I just talked to her."

Fallon held her hand up and made a thumbs up towards Chris. "Close my door." She mumbled as she pulled her blanket back over her head. He stood in place for a moment and looked around, noticing a small bottle filled with pills. He picked them up and stood over Fallon with a look of disappointment. She sat up quickly when the sound of the pills rattling startled her.

"What is this?" He asked gripping the bottle in his hands.

Fallon threw her feet over the side of her bed and stood up. She reached to grab them but he stepped back. "They're for my pain!" She raised her voice.

"So why are you getting them from the local drug dealer and not from a doctor?!" He raised his voice as well, Fallon noticed that his grip loosened and she snatched the pills out of his hand.

"Why do you give a shit? You've never cared about anything I've done so why are you acting as if you care now."

Christopher glared at her for a moment, remaining silent. He couldn't think of anything to say at the moment, she stepped closer to him. "Is it because dad is gone? Do you think that it's your job to step up now? If that's the case then you're wrong, I don't need another piece of shit guy in my life trying to claim some weird ass type of authority over me!"

She shoved him back towards the door. He held up his hands as a way of surrendering before leaving her room. Fallon looked down at the bottle of pills and slid them underneath her pillow, just to keep them close to her. She laid flat on her back and closed her eyes for a moment until her phone rang loudly from the floor. She answered it without looking to see who it was.

"Fallon, can I come over? I need you right now." Maddy's voice was low, it was clear she had been crying. Fallon put the phone on speaker and set it down next to her head.

"I don't know if right now is a good time. I've got a lot going on." She muttered.

"Please! I called Kat and she's too busy. I need you, Fal. Please." Maddy's voice cracked as she pleaded.

"Fine. Whatever, only on one condition. Bring a bottle, it's been a long night." She hung up the phone and plugged it back in. She climbed out of her bed and decided to take a shower before Maddy came over. She turned on the shower and let the warm water engulf her aching body. She lightly hissed in pain as she curled her knees up to her chest. She rested her head on her knees and let out a deep breath that she'd somehow been holding in since her father was killed. Tears streamed down her cheeks, her eyes were puffy and her cheeks were starting to feel dry. Her hair was soaked, it dripped onto the shower floor. Fallon found herself humming a song that she didn't realize she remembered until this moment. Her mother sang it to her when she was younger.

Fallon was so stunned, she didn't realize the was starting to get cold. She remained still until her arm was grabbed, she jumped up and locked eyes with Maddy. "I'm sorry, I was taking a shower and I must've lost track of time." She stood up and wrapped a towel around her body. Maddy noticed the bruises and light cuts on her body, she wrapped her arm around Fallon and brought her back to her bedroom.

Maddy watched as Fallon dried off and put on some underclothes. She grabbed a t-shirt to put on before climbing into the bed next to Maddy.

"What happened to you?" Maddy asked furrowing her eyebrows. Fallon lowered her head and sighed.

"My dad is dead, my mom is going to jail, it's just been a really shitty day. That's why I needed this!" She held up the bottle of liquor and plastered a smile on her face.

"How the fuck did you get those bruises? From your mom?"

Fallon let out a humorless chuckle. "It was my dad. It's been like this for a while, a long while. Like since I was old enough to fully talk." She took a large sip from the bottle in her hands and leaned her head back against the headboard. She placed the bottle in Maddy's hand and turned on some music on her phone.

"My parents are trying to press charges on Nate. Saying he's abusing me." Maddy blurted out. Fallon froze, she turned to face Maddy and looked at her with a sympathetic look on her face. She took another big sip from the bottle before passing it to Maddy who did the same.

"I'm so sorry that happened to you, Mads. You deserve so much better than him, you deserve someone that loves you." She gently rested her hand on the side of Maddy's face, she took a while before looking up into Fallon's eyes. The two of them shared the same wretched look, Fallon found her gaze drifting down to Maddy's lips as she leaned closer to her. Before either of them could process it, Maddy's lips were on hers. Her stomach turned in knots as she deepened the kiss. Fallon gently let her hands travel to the side of Maddy's neck, her soft skin made Fallon light up with a feeling of joy. A feeling that she never wanted to go away.
