Atlas's POV

Mrs Lockwood scuttled away saying she had an urgent paperwork to handle, not before sneakily throwing a sly wink towards her grand-daughter which didn't go unnoticed by me.

Just like every other desperate women, she gave me her lustful looks while constantly blabbering about something I wasn't interested in because all I could think of was Gold.

How there was so much agony in her eyes, how her lips quivered when this witch decided to confront her, I have no idea what she told her but I could only think of different ways of hurting her when I couldn't handle seeing her distressed face.

She moved her chair close to mine and ran her hands up my arm, her face contoured into a flirtaceous expression. It made me gag. That was the last straw, No one touches me without my permission.

I grabbed her wrist, to which she winced painfully. I looked dead into her eyes before slowly delivering the venom- filled words, taking my time with each word to make a greater impact.

"Don't. You. Dare. Touch me with your filthy hands ever again. I can ruin you with just a click of my finger, so if you don't want that to happen, you better keep your ugly face as far away from me as possible" I seethed in anger.

Fear was evident in her eyes, I could notice her slightly trembling by the tone of my voice, unshed tears soon replaced the fear when she pulled away her wrist from my hold, putting a hand over her mouth to control a sob while running away.

This is nothing new to me, I am used to people reacting this way but this particular one, the pain on her face felt satisfying.

I turned my gaze sideways to see Gold gone. It was just her friends there, sipping on drinks and chatting away.

"Honey, can we talk?" Aunt Lisa said, approaching me.

I nodded and followed her to a quieter place.
I raised my eyebrows, indirectly asking her what she wanted. She stared at me before shaking her head and continuing.

"Honey, I was in your room a few days ago when I noticed something weird about the ceiling so I contacted Peter, our contractor and turns out it's more damaged than we thought, the pipes need to be be replaced too"

I shrugged, indicating that it was fine by me.

" But the problem is, it might take 2 or 3 weeks. You can't sleep on the couch for weeks dear."

I was going to say that I could stay in a hotel when she cut me off.

" I know, you can stay in a hotel or hell but yourself a new house but I'm not going to allow that. You may be a successful businessman now but for me, you are still the same cute kid running around the park screaming and squealing. You are my responsibility as long as you are here."

Flashes of those times came across my eyes, I shook off all the images, all that was a long time ago, I'm a changed man now, incidents have pushed me far, far enough, to a point where no one can bring me back. I diverted my mind and focused on what she was trying to say.

"So I found someone who volunteered to lend you a room in her apartment for a few weeks. She is the sweetest and you are so going to enjoy her company" she smiled. She looked like she could literally jump in joy if we weren't exposed to so much crowd.

"Come here sweetie" she motioned to someone.

I was completely taken back by the girl standing in front of me. This was the first time I felt my heart speed up from 70 beats/ min to 95 beats/min.

The news came to me as a complete shock.

I could easily argue and refuse the offer but something told me not to. I couldn't see Aunt Lisa upset, yeah that's it! I didn't want to upset her, she genuinely looks so happy.

No it's not, it's totally because of her.
