7.0 The One Where They're Dressed Up

Pre Death
Post Death

Elizabeth Jensen smiled as she wrapped her arms around Justin Foley's neck. The two of them were sitting on her bed after a long day at school. "I'm so lucky." He spoke softly, taking in everything about her. He loved her more than anything in the entire world.

"I think that I'm the lucky one." Elizabeth's smile widened as she bopped him on the nose. His eyes widened before he broke out into laughter. He leaned in and kissed her, cupping her cheeks. Elizabeth kissed her boyfriend back, closing the gap between them on her bed. His lips moved down from her lips to her neckline and she bit her lip, holding back a smile. Her eyes widened, though, as she saw her brother climbing out of his window and onto the roof. "What the hell."

"I'm kissing your neck." Justin looked very confused. He moved away, not sure what he had done. "I thought you like that."

"Not you, baby. You're doing great." Elizabeth moved away from the bed and towards her window. She opened it and stuck her head out. "What in fucks sake are you doing on the roof?"

"Don't tell mom, and I won't tell her that Justin sneaks in here." Clay spoke swiftly, pointing at Elizabeth's boyfriend, who was standing behind her.

Elizabeth nodded. "Deal." She closed her window and left him to do whatever the hell he was doing.

She had other things, or people, to do.

Elizabeth woke up the next morning to her dad knocking on her bedroom door. She jumped, her eyes landing on her sleeping boyfriend next to her. She pushed him off the bed. Justin landed with a thunk and a "Hey!"

She shushed him and spoke to her father. "Come in!"

Her dad popped his head into her doorway. "There's no spread today, Eliza, so do you want coffee?"

"Yeah." She nodded, smiling. "Thank you."

"No problem." He began to leave but turned back. "Also, no closed doors anymore, literally and figuratively. After what happened last night, your mom and I are a little worried."

"So this is Clay's fault?" Elizabeth's eyebrows furrowed with hatred.

"Not fully." Her father stepped in closer. "We can tell that you aren't fully telling us the truth either. For example, your lovely boyfriend that we haven't met yet or even heard of."

Elizabeth scoffed rolling her eyes. "I don't-"

"Don't even try, Liza." Her father crossed his arms. "I know he's here, and I know he's been sneaking in here for most nights. Your mother and I are not as stupid as you or your brother think."

Elizabeth's jaw dropped as Justin stood up from the ground, clutching his t-shirt in terror. "I'm- uh- Justin." He spoke softly. "Elizabeth's boyfriend."

"Nice to finally meet you, Justin." Elizabeth's dad stepped closer and shook Justin's hand. "It may not be on the best occasion, but it's nice to know what's happening in my daughter's life." He clapped his hands, beginning to step out. "Now, I'm going to head out and let the two of you get dressed."

When her father left, Elizabeth sighed, leaning her head on Justin's chest. He chuckled, running his hands through her hair. "Hey, there are worst ways that could have happened." He laughed as she looked up at him.

"Now they think I'm a slut."

"Hey-" Justin put his finger underneath her chin. "You're anything but a slut. You're the most caring and beautiful person I know."

"I love you, Justin Foley."

"I love you too, Elizabeth Jensen."

That day was the day Justin Foley actually had to come into school. It was the costume contest day. The two had decided to dress up as Sandy and Danny in the ending scene of Grease. Elizabeth smiled as she fixed her red lipstick using the mirror inside of her locker. "Stop trying to make yourself look even better." Justin spoke softly into Elizabeth's ear as he gripped her leather covered hips. "You're so goddamn hot. I don't want the other guys drooling over you more than they already do."

Elizabeth smiled as she turned to face him, twisting the one curl that lingered onto his forehead with her finger. "They do, huh?" She chuckled as she leaned and kissed him. "Well, you're pretty okay, too." She whispered against his lips before pulling away with a goofy smile plastered across her face.

"That's what I get for being nice and complimenting my hot girlfriend who I love." Justin chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. "Nice, I see how it is."

"No. Baby, you're hot too!" Elizabeth laughed as she took his hand into hers. She saw her brother out of the corner of her eye. "Clay, please tell Justin that he looks good."

"Danny Zuko?" Clay scoffed, causing Justin to look down, rubbing his temples. Elizabeth glared at Clay. "I mean, you look awesome, Justin."

"Thanks." Justin groaned, knowing that was a forced compliment. Clay, of course, walked away because he felt awkward.

"You need to stop, Babe!" Elizabeth smiled, wrapping her arms around her neck. "No one will beat us. We look bomb."

Hannah Baker looked dreadful. She looked like she was going to pass out as she put her books into her locker. Elizabeth Jensen noticed her and furrowed her eyebrows. She went up to her friend, leaning against the locker. "You look like you didn't sleep a bit last night."

"I didn't." Hannah shook her head, running a hand through her long and curly hair. "I'm pretty sure someone was outside my window."

"Oh, like someone slept over?" Elizabeth bit her lip, smiling. "Hannah Baker, you dog!"

"No." Hannah shook her head, chuckling. "Like someone taking pictures of me."

"You have a stalker?" Elizabeth's face went completely serious. "That's a little different than I thought."

"I have no idea what to do." Hannah sighed, leaning her back against the locker. "The clicking sound followed me everywhere."

"Find out who it is, then confront the bitch." Elizabeth suggested, shrugging. "It's that simple."

"I don't think it's that simple." Hannah shook her head. "Someone's stalking me."

"Alright, I've never been in your situation, so I guess I don't have much advice." Elizabeth cocked her head to the side, trying to think. "Maybe if it continues tonight, call the police? That's the best I got."

"Thanks." Hannah nodded, hugging her best friend. "I should get to class." Elizabeth nodded as she watched Hannah leave her.

Her gaze ended when Justin Foley appeared next to her. "Go away, Foley." Elizabeth spoke with annoyance laced in her tone.

"You know, the more you push me away, the more it makes me want you." Justin smiled as he took her books out of her hands. "Let me walk you to class."

"I think I'm perfectly capable, thanks, though." Elizabeth frowned as she took her books back. "And, the more you want me, the less I want you, so just please stop."

"You wanted me?" Justin smirked, stopping in his tracks.

"What?"

"You said 'the less I want you', which means you wanted me to begin with." Justin chuckled as he draped his arm across her shoulders.

"That's not what I meant." Elizabeth shook her head. "I mean, sure you're hot, but I'd never sleep you."

"What makes you think all I want is to sleep with you?" Justin looked seriously hurt by her statement.

"Well, you're THE Justin Foley." Elizabeth shrugged, believing what she was saying was the truth. "You sleep with girls and then never call them. It's sort of what you're known for."

"I mean sure, but you're different, Eliza." Justin looked down at his hands. "You're smart, kind, and the most beautiful girl I've ever met. I don't want to hurt you."

"I'm not sure I believe you, sweetheart." Elizabeth shook her head. "And besides, I don't want to be used like you used Hannah."

"So, this is about Hannah?"

"No."

"That's what you just said." Justin sighed.

"I don't know." Elizabeth frowned before looking down at her feet. "I mean, she's my best friend, and what you did to her was really shitty."

"Bryce did it, actually." Justin explained to her. "Not me."

"But you let him." Elizabeth stepped closer to the Foley boy. "Sure, I'm attracted to you, Justin, but it just can't happen." Elizabeth stopped at her classroom. "Thanks for walking me."

Justin nodded as he watched Elizabeth shook all into her class. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, and he wished he had noticed sooner. Justin wanted Elizabeth more than he had ever wanted anything in his life.
