Elizabeth Jensen walked down the hall at Liberty High School with Jessica Davis, and got stopped by Ani Achola. "Eliza, have you heard from them yet?"
The girl shook her head. "What? Who?" Jessica questioned her friends.
"Justin and Clay are with the police." Elizabeth explained to Jessica as the three started to walk again. "They found the security footage from last spring of Clay and Justin outside of Bryce's house." Jessica nodded in response.
"Shit." Jessica sighed. "Of course that house had a security camera."
Ani's eyes widened at Jessica's response. "You knew this happened."
"I told her." Elizabeth shrugged.
"You don't think Clay-" Ani paused for a second, trying to collect her thoughts. "You don't think he could have actually done something, do you?"
"No." Elizabeth looked up at Jessica waiting for her answer.
Jessica looked down at the ground. "I don't know."
"Was he in love with Hannah."
Elizabeth snorted. "That's an understatement."
"Did he not tell you?" Jessica furrowed her eyebrows. "About Hannah, the tapes, the trial?"
"Almost nothing." Ani shook her head.
"Jesus." Elizabeth scoffed.
Jessica looked into a classroom to see if it was empty. "In here." She said before entering that classroom.
The duo began to tell Ani everything that happened during the past two years. "So, Clay went after everyone on the tapes?" Elizabeth nodded. "I mean, I knew he could be obsessive, but.."
"And when the trial started, it was like," Jessica took in a deep breath before finishing, "he cared more about Hannah than me or anyone else who was alive." Elizabeth took Jessica's hand in her own. "I mean, that's not fair, because I think he knew that I was hurting, but.."
"But he didn't respect that you weren't ready to speak about it?" Ani asked.
Jessica nodded softly. "I mean, I'm glad I ended up testifying after everything. It made me feel stronger." She looked down at the ground. "But after that night, after Bryce, I was constantly afraid. I had to go to school every day and see him. I was just starting to get over that, and Clay- God, he made me feel.." She paused, trying to find the right word. "Hunted."
"Eliza, do you know where Clay went after homecoming? Did he go home with you and Justin?" Ani questioned Elizabeth.
"Justin and I left the game alone and were up in my room for the night. I don't think he went back home." Elizabeth tried to think of Clay's whereabouts during the game. "He was with Tony while the game was going on, so maybe he knows where he went after?" Ani nodded.
"You don't think Clay had anything to do with Bryce?" Jessica asked her friend.
"I don't want to."
"The trial was months ago, and Hannah was over a year ago. Why would he?" Elizabeth stated shaking her head. "I know my brother, and I don't think that he could have done this."
"I don't know, Eliza. I don't know anything." The bell signaling the beginning of first period rang and interupted the girls' conversation.

Justin Foley had texted his girlfriend telling her that him and Clay would be in school for the rest of the day and to meet him in the janitor's closet so he could tell her what happened. The girl told her Spanish teacher that she had to go to the bathroom and rushed towards the closet, entering it. She saw Justin and sighed, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him towards her. "Thank fucking god you guys didn't get arrested or some shit."
"I think that they are really convinced that Clay did it." Justin stated, pulling away from the hug.
"I mean, they have the video, but what other proof do they have?" Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows.
Justin sighed before answering his girlfriend's question. "They think that Bryce and Ani were having sex."
Elizabeth's eyes widened. "What the fuck. Do you think that?"
"I don't know. I didn't have any idea."
"Me neither." Elizabeth shook her head. "How's Clay handling everything?"
"He's pretty fucking stressed out."
"He's always stressed out."
"Yeah, but like more than usual."
"Shit." Elizabeth rubbed her temples as she leaned her back against the wall. "I really don't think that Clay would kill Bryce, and I know him better than anyone. We literally shared a womb."
Justin licked his lips. "I don't know, Eliza. The cops seem pretty convinced."
"No." Elizabeth shook her head. "Mrs. Walker is convinced and is yelling at the cops to arrest him."
"Maybe."
"He didn't do it." Justin pulled Elizabeth into his arms as she repeatedly shook her head. "I know that he did not do it."
"I know, baby." Justin pressed his lips to Elizabeth's forehead. "It's gonna be okay."

"We agreed not at the funeral."
"No, you said not at the funeral, we did not agree."
Jessica and Casey were arguing in the basement during an HO meeting.
"People were in mourning." Elizabeth spoke up from her seat at the table. "They were in a lot of pain. It was not okay to do that."
"Fuck their pain, what about Jess's pain? And every girl he raped?" Casey motioned to the girls at the table. "And every girl who got attacked in that fucking clubhouse or at every party?" Casey paused and sighed before continuing. "What about the girl who went over to hang out with friends and got raped on a basement floor?"
Jessica stepped closer towards Casey. "Look, I get it."
"No, you don't." Casey shook her head. "If you did, you wouldn't have let your so called 'best friend' get back together with Justin."
Jessica glanced over at Elizabeth, who's mouth was wide open. "Elizabeth doesn't have to defend her own choices. Her personal life has nothing to do with this." Jessica walked over to her best friend. "Justin has grown tremendously since that night, and they are in love with each other. I am happy for her that she is with Justin. He treats her better than anyone else ever could."
"This is a fight, Jess, and you started it!" Casey walked up to Jessica, starting to get in her face. "And you can't finish it, and that's fine."
Elizabeth decided that enough was enough and stood in between the two. "Casey, just please back off."
"You two are not going to stand in the way of those of us who actually want to make things change."
"But you're not making any change, you're just making noise!" Jessica shouted at Casey.
Casey shook her head. "I am making them uncomfortable. I am reminding them that their actions have consequences." Elizabeth frowned as the both of the girls moved closer towards her. "When I shout, they look in my direction, and they see the pain that I feel every minute! I will make them understand that I will never yield from this and I am not okay."
"Jessica, let's just go." Elizabeth turned to leave, but Casey stopped her.
"And you getting back with the guy who let your best friend get raped is not okay."
"Shut the fuck up, Casey. You don't understand anything. Things are always way more complicated than you think."
Jessica was now the one who was trying to move in-between Casey and Elizabeth, because Elizabeth looked as if she were about to punch Casey in the throat.
"Not this one, this one seems pretty fucking simple." Casey turned her back on the two girls, walking over to the table where the members of HO sat.
"Something is really fucking wrong with you." Elizabeth spat at Jessica began to drag her out of the room.
