After Elizabeth Jensen had finished talking to her brother, Clay, she made her way around the party. She ran into Zach again. "Oh, Hey." Zach smiled as he waved at Elizabeth.
"Any luck finding Hannah?" Elizabeth asked him, and he shook his head in response.
"Bryce said he saw her, but that's all I've got."
"Maybe keep looking?"
Zach shrugged. "Maybe she just doesn't want to be found." He looked sad, and this confused Elizabeth.
"Sorry, man."
Zach chuckled. "Do you even care?" He questioned her. "We're not friends."
"You're not the worst person at this school, Zach." Elizabeth smiled, grabbing a new cup. She began to pour some beer into the cup. "And, why can't we be friends?"
"Because we don't talk."
"But, we could."
"That might make Justin mad."
The girl shook her head. "Justin can't tell me who I can and can't be friends with."
And then, almost as if he was on cue, Justin rushed over to the two, pulled Elizabeth towards the door. Justin has just witnessed a terrible event.
"Let's go home." Justin spoke frantically. "It's been a long night, yeah?"
"No." Elizabeth whined, running her hands up Justin's chest. "I wanna stay."
"Come on, Eliza." Justin grabbed her hands. "We should go home. I don't feel like staying any longer."
Elizabeth could tell that he was serious. She nodded, and followed him out of Jessica's house. "What's wrong, Justin?" Elizabeth asked as she got into Justin's passenger seat.
"Nothing." Justin sighed as he started his car, beginning to drive it to Elizabeth's house.
"Well, obviously something's wrong." Elizabeth snapped at him. "You just fucking dragged me out of the party I was having fun at."
"You shouldn't have been having fucking fun, though." Justin frowned as he tried not to scream at his girlfriend. Elizabeth's best friend just got raped by his own best friend, and he felt like he couldn't even tell her.
"Why the hell not, Justin?!" Elizabeth yelled. She was not having it.
"I don't want to get mad right now, okay?"
"You're already mad."
"Fuck you."
"Well, you haven't yet, so...." Elizabeth frowned as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Excuse me?" Justin slammed his foot on the breaks of the car. "What the fuck did you just say?"
"You said fuck you, and considering we haven't had sex yet, I said that you hadn't." Elizabeth stated, making direct eye contact with him.
"You're just drunk."
"You've seen me drunk before." Elizabeth smirked as she moved closer to Justin. "What's the matter with me being drunk?"
"You're always super horny when your drunk, but I don't want to do that to you." Justin frowned as he started the car again.
"And why the fuck not?" Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
"Because I love you that's why."
"I love you too, and I want to be with you. All of you."
"Not tonight, Eliza."

A death shocked the town the next day. Jeff Atkins was killed in a drunk driving accident when he drove home from the party. Elizabeth's brother, Clay, was especially hurt. Him and Jeff had become great friends because Clay would tutor him.
Now, Jeff was gone.
No one seemed happy at Liberty High.
Jessica Davis rushed towards Elizabeth Jensen as soon as she saw her walking out of a classroom. She caught up with her and pulled her to the side. "Uh- about last night-"
"It's fine." Elizabeth smiled, hugging Jessica. "You were really drunk, okay? You didn't do anything wrong."
Jessica nodded, smiling nervously. "It's weird." She furrowed her eyebrows. "I can't remember anything after that. Anyways, I should go. Love you."
"I love you, too, Jess." Elizabeth called after her as she watched her leave the school.
"Hey, can we talk about last night?" Justin appeared next to Elizabeth who had just reached her locker.
Elizabeth shook her head, smiling. "Don't worry about it. It's fine. I was just overreacting."
"No, you weren't." Justin sighed. "I want to be with you, too. I just, also, don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you." He flashed her a small smile.
"I don't feel like that at all, baby." Elizabeth smiled as she hugged him. "You're the best boyfriend ever, and I'm lucky to have you."
"That's not true." Justin shook his head before kissing Elizabeth on the forehead.
"It is in my mind."
The bell signaling the end of the school day rang, and Hannah appeared next to Elizabeth. "You ready?" Hannah asked Elizabeth, ignoring Justin's presence. Hannah looked as if she hadn't slept all night, which at that point, she hadn't.
"Yeah, I was just saying bye to Justin." Hannah grabbed onto Elizabeth's hand and started walking out. Elizabeth waved to her boyfriend who waved back. "So, where too?" Elizabeth smiled as she got into her car. "Monet's? Rosie's?"
"Actually, can we just go to your house?" Hannah stared down at her hands. Elizabeth could tell something was wrong.
"Yeah, of course." Elizabeth nodded, starting her car up.
The drive to the Jensen household was quiet, but not an awkward quiet. It seemed like something both of them needed.
When they got inside Elizabeth's bedroom, Hannah broke down, sobbing. Elizabeth immediately hugged her. "If this is about Justin, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I didn't talk to you about it." Elizabeth rambled. "It just happened, and we had sort of stopped talking."
"No." Hannah pulled away from the hug, wiping her tears. "It's not about that. I'm happy for you."
Elizabeth nodded. "Then what's up."
Hannah looked as if she was about to tell Elizabeth something, but what came out of her mouth was not what Hannah had actually wanted to say. "I miss you."
"I miss you, too." Elizabeth spoke as she sat down on her bed. "I'm really sorry that we just sort of split apart."
"I mean, shit happens." Hannah nodded as she spoke. She awkwardly looked around Elizabeth's room. Elizabeth knew something else was going on, but she didn't want to pressure her.
The two spent the night watching movies and eating popcorn, as girls do at sleepovers.

Elizabeth Jensen sighed as her phone rang. It was Jessica. "Hey, Jess. What's up?" She spoke softly, not wanting to wake her sleeping parents.
"Bryce and I are going to his house. Wanna come?" Jessica was obviously baked. "We're gonna hit the hot tub."
Elizabeth did not want Jessica to be alone with Bryce so she agreed, grabbing her bathing suit and jumping in her car. When she arrived at Bryce's, Zach and Montgomery were also there. Jessica immediately handed her a a bottle of vodka, wanting her to get drunk. Elizabeth shook her hand, handing it back to Jessica, who gave it back to Elizabeth. "Please, 'Liza?" She whined. "I wanna get drunk together!"
"Fine." Elizabeth chuckled, nodding. She took a huge sip from the vodka bottle. Jessica smiled as she pulled Elizabeth into the pool house where Zach, Bryce, and Montgomery were playing poker. Elizabeth took a couple more sips of vodka.
Elizabeth's phone started to ring. It was Justin. "Hold up a second." Elizabeth spoke before moving away from them. "Hey, babe."
"Hey, I'm sleeping at Alex's, so I can't come over tonight. Sorry." Justin spoke over the phone. Elizabeth wondered what he was doing at Alex's.
"No, it's okay." Elizabeth looked over at Jessica and the boys sitting around the coffee table.
"Is that Crusty Justy?" Bryce laughed as he stood up walking over to Elizabeth and taking the phone. "Don't worry, Justy, the boys and I will be taking great care of Eliza tonight."
Bryce gave the phone back to Elizabeth and trotted back to the table. Elizabeth glared at him before putting her ear back up to the phone. "What the fuck are you doing with Bryce, Liza?"
"I didn't want Jess to be alone." Elizabeth explained herself. "Anyways, I gotta go."
"No, don't fucking hang up." Justin sounded serious. Elizabeth rolled her eyes before turning off her phone and sitting between Zach and Jessica.
The game of poker grew more and more intense as both of the girls won almost every round. "Just take the money." Bryce laughed as Jessica pulled the money she won into her pile.
"I just keep on winning." Jessica smiled her award winning smile as she wrapped her arm around Elizabeth. "I mean, we keep on winning."
"It was like twice." Bryce shook his head.
"This is actually kind of embarrassing now for you guys." Elizabeth laughed as she took another sip of vodka. "You're losing to a couple of stupid ass girls."
"You just want to rub it in?" Zach frowned as he chugged his beer.
"Yeah, because I'm fucking rich." Jessica stopped talking as she watched Justin and Alex walk into the pool house.
"Justy, Alex!" Bryce smiled. "I'm so glad that you boys finally decided to join us. Sit down."
"Uh, no." Justin shook his head, moving to face Elizabeth. "Eliza and I actually had something planned tonight."
"What?" Elizabeth's eyes widened as she set the bottle of vodka on the table. "We did not have anything fucking planned, you liar." She giggled, standing up. She moved to Justin, wrapping her arms around his neck. Justin practically ripped her arms off of him.
"We were gonna get dinner a late dinner, right?" Justin watched as Elizabeth rolled her eyes at him.
"You literally just told me that we couldn't hang out tonight, so I call bullshit." Elizabeth exclaimed before looking at Jessica. "And I like hanging with Jess more anyways."
"Ooh." Bryce smirked as he watched the events play out. "Well, Justin, you better make her change her mind by losing a couple of rounds to her." Bryce patted the seat next to him.
"Alright." Zach coughed. "Well, the game is Texas hold 'em. Five dollar minimum."
"Come on, Alex, play!" Jessica smiled at her ex boyfriend, who was standing.
"Nah, I hate poker." Alex shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Play! Everyone's playing." Jessica stood up from the table, pushing Alex into her seat. She moved to sit on Bryce's lap. This normally would have made Elizabeth feel uncomfortable, but she was honestly too drunk to care.
"Alright, Eliza, let's go." Justin snapped.
"What the fuck?" Elizabeth furrowed her eyebrows, not understanding her boyfriend's urgency to get her out of there. "I'm not leaving."
"We're fucking leaving right now, okay?" Justin grabbed her hand and starting to drag her out of the door. "I don't want you to hang out here ever again."
She got out of his grasp once they reached the pool. "What is your problem?" Elizabeth yelled at her boyfriend. "Why don't you want me to hang out with Bryce?"
Everyone was behind her. "Justin, don't." Alex spoke from within the crowd, trying to stop whatever was going to happen.
"Because-"
"Because why?" Elizabeth was about to burst into tears. "What are you hiding from me?"
"He's not a good guy."
"Tell me why."
"Stop." Alex spoke again.
"He fucking raped Jessica."
Justin Foley had finally exploded and stood there as he watched the tears rush down Elizabeth's cheeks.
"What the fuck?" She whimpered before looking back at Jessica who was also crying. "Why didn't you tell me." She asked Jessica.
"I didn't really know." Jessica spoke softly. She tried to push away her tears.
"Justin, brother-" Bryce spoke softly as he tried to approach Justin.
"I'm not your fucking brother." Justin yelled as he pushed Bryce away from him.
"Guys, stop!" Zach exclaimed as he got in between the two.
"I should fucking kill you, you son of a bitch!"
Elizabeth just stood there and watched. She felt paralyzed. How could none of them have told her that her best friend got raped by someone she saw everyday.
Once Justin was pulled off of Bryce, he stood in front of Elizabeth with his eyes red from tears. "I'm sorry." He tried to pull her into a hug, but she pushed him off of her.
"How could you not have told me that my best friend got raped?!" She turned to the rest of the group. "How could any of you have kept this from me?" Elizabeth grabbed onto Jessica's hand. "We're leaving."
The two walked away, right to Elizabeth's car. "Are you sure you're okay to drive?" Elizabeth nodded slowly as she got into the driver's seat.
"I can't stay there any longer, and neither can you." Elizabeth turned on her car and drove Jessica home. Once she got to her house, she ran straight up to her bedroom. Elizabeth looked down at her phone and saw seventeen missed calls and messages from Justin.
