Chapter 33: Secret
'Bob' couldn't believe it. Someone had come to visit him. "Leonard?" he asked, completely surprised. Len looked around. Apparently satisfied, he opened the cage and walked in. he locked it behind himself.
"I know what you did," he said. "I know how you controlled me, made me scar my lover. And I will never forgive you."
'Bob' chuckled. "So?" he challenged. Len smirked; this was exactly what he had been waiting for.
"Well, your about to find out," he said, and pulled out his cold gun.
...
'Bob' didn't survive 2 hours.
...
Len walked into Barry's room. Barry wasn't there, so he decided he would just wait in Barry's bed for him to come.
...
Barry spared a glance at his watch. Holy crap! It was 11:59! He ran to his room. (Not superspeed)
When he got there, however, he was shocked to see that someone was in his room.
...
"Snart?" Barry asked in surprise. Len smiled at him, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Hey, Barry," he said.
"What are you doing here?" Barry asked. "I just wanted to let you know that you won't keep seeing my everyday," he said. "What? Why?" Barry asked, genuinely curious.
"Well, you'll see in a little bit," he said. Suddenly, Barry understood. "Why?" he whispered sadly. Len looked down. "What do you care?" he asked. "It's not like you care or something."
"But I do care!" Barry said, almost shouting as his voice went higher. "I may not be able to forgive you, but that doesn't mean my feelings just vanish!"
Len looked up. "Really?" he asked. Barry nodded. Len couldn't believe it. He smiled, and this time it did reach his eyes.
He pulled Barry closer to him, and kissed him.
...
When he pulled away, Barry felt electricity in the air. He smiled. Len smiled.
It was perfect.
...
For the next few days, it was always smiles.
Then the realized something.
Being in danger constantly, it was putting a strain on their relationship.
So, they would have to take away that factor.
...
"Listen, I'm sorry, but-" Sara looked at him. "What. The. Hell?" Sara asked. Barry and Len had just barged in, and started talking about something.
"Oh," he said, then pulled Len over and kissed him. Everyone gasped, including Len. Barry chuckled.
Len took a deep breath. "We need more time to focus on our relationship, and constantly risking out lives isn't the way to do that," Len said with a sad smile. Barry nodded. Sara nodded. "Of course. Being a Legend is a choice, after all," she sighed.
"I'll let you off somewhere in 2018," she said.
...
"You know," Carter said when they landed. He shared a glance with Kendra. "I think our days as Legends are over over."
Kendra nodded.
Ray felt himself getting a little misty eyed as he watched how happy Kendra was.
No one noticed.
"Goodbye," Carter called as he and Kendra flew away.
Barry and Len smiled. They kissed, and then Barry sped away without a goodbye. (Actually, he did. He just said it at superspeed so no one heard him)
...
Later on, the rest of the Legends followed suit. One by one, until Rip was the last person. He decided to save his wife by bring her to before her death so he could spend the rest of his short life with her. He died shortly after of a heart attack.
Sara moved on with her life, and went to go live with her sister. When Laurel died, Sara was also killed.
Kendra and Carter spent the rest of their life together, and they continued to fight together until Kendra died from a stab wound and Carter died seeking revenge.
Jax and Stein went to live with their families, and they both died from lack of contact.
When Ray found out that Felicity was taken, he decided to start helping Oliver. He died by taking a bullet for The Green Arrow.
Mick joined forces with Lisa and they robbed ten more banks, then became so rich they didn't need to. They spent the rest of their lives living on that money, talking about their adventures, and getting drunk from missing Len.
They would all say that they disbanded because they wanted to spend time with their families. But that wasn't true. They had quit because they had wanted to chase true love. They had been inspired by Barry and Len, by ColdFlash, to chase their dreams.
And they would always be thankful, up until they died. Then, not so much.
