Chapter 16: Oliver
Barry finally explodes. He can't hold it in any longer. So he doesn't try to.
"What, Oliver? What do we need to talk about so badly that you have to interrupt a very important case? The mystery of a little girl's murder! This case was really important to me, which I tried to tell you over the phone, but obviously you didn't listen! Not to mention everything on my plate! So, Oliver, what could you possibly need?"
Barry took a breath as he stared Oliver down. Oliver just looked utterly shocked. Barry didn't blame him. He almost never yelled at people, especially his mentor.
...
Kara looked at him, and all she could feel was terror. He was huge!!!!
Then she realized that the DEO kept him in his natural state, so he had recently stretched. That meant that he was still sore!!!
Question is, where would it hurt most?
Probably the head.
Kara realized she had a huge advantage over the creature: She knew it's weaknesses.
It didn't know hers.
She flew into the air, close enough that she could smell it's bad breath, (Ew!!!!) and punched it square in the nose. It howled angrily, then it tried to swat at her, each paw only barely missing her. She then dodged the paws again and made it back to his face. He looked at her angrily, eyes narrowing. She then punched it's nose again, this time even harder, and the beast fell over, hopefully unconscious and not dead.
...
Oliver was shocked. Barry never yelled at anyone. Anyone!
"Barry," Oliver said. Barry sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, which meant he was nervous, confused, scared, or didn't know what to say. Oliver guessed it was a little bit of all.
"What do you want me to say, Ollie? I've been pulled at both ends, heartbreak on one side, everything else on the other. I'm stressed, nervous, and in love. And none of them are issues that can be solved easily. So, give me time. I know that you didn't mean for it to happen, but there is nothing we can do about it. So, let it go. Please," Barry pleaded. "As I already explained, a little girl died today, and I want to solve the case."
Barry gestured to the door before returning back to his work. Oliver took the hint. He left, feeling like crap.
...
Barry had surprised himself! Since when could he, Barry Allen the nerd, stand up to Oliver Queen the jock and win? Or at all?
Barry knew that there would be consequences, but he could care less.
He was amazing!
...
When Barry got off work, he knew he needed something.
A drink.
He could not survive without a drink right about now.
...
Oliver decided to wait at Barry's place. He really needed to talk about the burden on Barry's shoulders.
...
After the alien was locked up, Kara walked over to Hank. "I need some advice," Kara said. Hank smiled and waved at who he was talking to. It was a clear dismissal.
The person smiled and nodded back, then walked away. Hank then gestured for her to come over.
"Yes?" he asked. "A friend of mine has a 'situation," she started. "He was drunk when he told me, but he said that he had a crush on a criminal, and that he'd slept with him, so now things were really awkward.
...
When he arrived, he brought along murmurs. After all, nerds didn't come to Saints and Sinners. He looked around, (To make sure 'someone' wasn't there) and when he was content, he sat down on a bar stool.
Then he ordered a beer, and when it came, he poured in Caitlin's serum. Then he chugged about five more before getting kicked out of the bar.
Then he headed home to find Oliver. He was drunk. That's why it happened. Again.
...
"Well," Hank said. "That's gotta be hard on this guy. I mean, having your crush be someone you can never be with, I can't imagine. But as for advice, I'd say, just be there for him." Kara nodded. Maybe that would help.
...
Oliver was waiting patiently for Barry when he walked through the door.
He grinned at Oliver, which was weird. Barry would have started running his hands through his hair.
"Who are you, imposer?" Oliver asked. 'Barry' giggled. "Hi, Ollie!" he said, then ran forward as if to hug Oliver, but ended up falling over instead.
Wait. Was that actually Barry? Was he drunk or something? But wasn't that impossible? Ugh. Barry was so confusing.
"Barry," Oliver said carefully, "Are you drunk?" Barry giggled. "Yep," he confirmed. Oliver rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, Barry tackled him onto the couch. Oliver looked up to see Barry smiling, and giggling madly. "Gotcha," he said. Oliver had to smile. It really was nice to see Barry relaxed after how tense he had been earlier, even with his antics.
Barry suddenly shifted, and Oliver could feel Barry's stomach on his. He couldn't lie; it felt amazing. No wonder his drunk mind didn't stop him.
Barry looked at him, and Oliver was shocked to see lust, not playfulness like he had expected. Uh oh.
Barry smiled, and Oliver felt his heart leap. He had no idea why.
Then Barry leaned down, and kissed him.
Oliver felt everything. He felt shock, because he had never been kissed by a male before, (Not counting when he was drunk) surprise, because he loved it, anger, because he wanted to do it, but he couldn't, shame, for enjoying it, and happiness, because he loved it. He couldn't stop if he wanted to, and Barry was too drunk to stop, so when Oliver reacted, Barry immediately deepened the kiss.
They carried it to the bedroom.
Wow. I didn't think I would do it again. This time is very different though, and I really didn't plan this. It does make things interesting, however...
