Chapter 32 : Consent
Third Person's P.O.V :-
When Yoongi's car stopped in front of Jimin's house, the residence just stood there in silence. The windows were shut, the door was closed and no lights were on, it kind of intimidated Yoongi as he started to wonder what Jimin was doing inside there in the dark.
Sighing, he parked his car in an appropriate spot and got out to knock on the door only to pause midway while he was climbing the stairs leading to the front porch.
A lock hung over the door and if the cobwebs forming around it were any indication, Yoongi would say the lock had been there for a while.
Yoongi frowned a little and pulled out his phone to call Jimin. Just as he had expected the call went into voicemail. He clicked his tongue in annoyance and left a message along the lines of 'pick up your damn phone' before leaving.
Yoongi was back in the car, reluctantly driving back home when Jin called him. The head of the Public Relations Department wasn't an easy person to get a hold on yet here he was casually ignoring Kim Seokjin.
The phone, however, kept on ringing and it started to annoy Yoongi, he sighed and finally answered the phone,"What?" He asked in a clipped tone as he took a turn while driving.
"You're sounding like you're on your period" Jin commented over the speaker.
"If you've called to just chit chat, save it, I have better things to do" Yoongi stated as he focused on the road.
"Like what? Pounding into your boyfriend?" Jin instantly asked, wanting to push Yoongi's buttons down.
Yoongi smirked a bit at that remark,"At least I have someone, your crush friendzoned you" He said and laughed when the line went silent.
"Fuck you and no, we're right now in the talking phrase, we text 3 times a day" Jin corrected in a proud voice.
"Yeah, text about which medicines will be able to handle your psychological disbalance effectively" Yoongi supplied and burst out laughing when the line went silent again.
"I'm convincing boss to give you two more assignments, fuck you, Min Yoongi, also the reason I called you, will you mind delivering some files to Jimin, we're out of interns this week" Jin explained, his voice going from annoyed to professional in an instant.
"A lock is hanging on Jimin's door, just coming back from there, do you have any idea where he might be? He's not answering his calls either" Yoongi asked while he drove.
"He didn't tell you? He's staying in a hotel, said something about mite problem, I don't remember clearly, do you want his hotel adress and room number?"
Yoongi abruptly pushed down on the breaks making the car go to the side of the road, the car tires screeching against the roads as the car jerked to a stop,"Give. It. To. Me. Right. Now." Yoongi hissed out into the phone.
"Damn, alright, wait a bit"
________________________________
Yoongi rushed through the hallway of the hotel and came to a stop in front of the room number that Jin had texted him.
The hotel was located literally on the other side of Seoul, it took Yoongi almost two hours to reach the place, what was Jimin doing so far away from home? Yoongi just couldn't figure it out.
Regardless he pressed the doorbell and impatiently waited in front of the door, waiting for it to open.
Footsteps could be heard from within the room as the door opened to reveal Jimin who looked to be in a terrible state.
Dark circles were adorning his eyes, his cheeks looked hollowed, his hair a mess and tired up in a mess pony tail, his lips chapped and his clothes reeked of a disgusting smell. In fact the entire room smelled like cheap alcohol and vomit.
Jimin was visibly shocked to see Yoongi standing on his doorsteps,"Yo-Yoongi hyung..." He called out while the finance department employee just glared back at him.
"Why are you in a hotel, Jimin?" Yoongi asked while he crossed his hands over his chest.
"Oh um bed bugs" Jimin answered nervously as he let go of the door, letting the door swing open, giving Yoongi a clear view of the inside.
Every surface of the hotel room was littered with alcohol bottles and take out containers. The room was a mess as if a tornado had just hit it and the room smelt disgusting.
Yoongi took his eyes off of the disaster that was the hotel room and glared back at Jimin,"Bed bugs? But Jin hyung said it was a mite problem? Well, which one is it? Or are you going to come up with a new problem on the spot now that you can't say either of those?" Yoongi hissed out as he pushed past a stunned Jimin and entered the room.
He looked around, empty alcohol bottles everywhere. He rushed towards every room and it was the exact same thing everywhere, even bathroom sinks had bottles thrown into them.
"Park Jimin what is this?!" Yoongi yelled out unable to make sense of the situation as he turned towards Jimin who stood in a corner and looked down on the floor.
Jimin's hands, which were resting by his side, clenched and unclenched as he took in a deep breath,"I just felt like drinking a little, hyung..." He whispered in a small voice.
"A LITTLE?!?! Is this what you call drinking a little?! Jimin if I didn't know better I would have said you were an alcoholic!" Yoongi shrieked in bewilderment.
Jimin gave a half hearted smile and leaned his head on the wall behind him,"Perhaps, I am one, now, hyung" He suggested softly.
"Jimin, stop shitting me" Yoongi hissed out as he took long strides towards Jimin to stand in front of him,"I'll ask you again, why are you staying in a hotel?" He gritted out each word and stared into Jimin face which was insistent on avoiding confrontation.
"Hyung, can't we just leave that topic behind? Jin hyung told me I'd be given some new files but it'd take some time since all the interns are out in the field today so I'm guessing he must have asked you, where are the files?" Jimin asked instead while looking down at Yoongi's empty hands.
Yoongi clenched his jaw at Jimin's blatant neglect of the topic,"PARK JIMIN ANSWER MY QUESTION RIGHT NOW!" He yelled out in a loud voice.
"I JUST CAN'T STAY AT THE HOUSE, ALRIGHT?!" Jimin shouted just as loudly as Yoongi while he had his eyes clenched shut as if talking about it physically hurt him.
Jimin's eyes slowly opened to reveal the unshed tears while he sniffed in his spot,"The house is filled with too many memories, every corner reminds me of him, it feels too empty, I tried to stay but I couldn't sleep, it was very suffocating there so I ran..as far away from the house as I could manage" He whispered in a groggy voice.
"And I drank to stop my mind from thinking" Jimin continued when Yoongi went silent to listen to him,"I went clubbing every night, thinking I needed stimulation and socialization but none of it worked, I still felt awful when I returned" He squeaked out.
"So I drank more" He uttered out with a struggle,"That's all I've been doing, hyung, I just drink, work, go clubbing, drink, come back with take outs and drink again" He whispered as he hugged himself tightly as if he was trying to comfort himself.
"And I'm starting to like this lifestyle, I like it when my brain is numb" He softly added.
"Do you remember tomorrow's the first court appearance?" Yoongi asked in a tight voice, the more he took in Jimin's state, the angrier he got.
Jimin looked up at him in confusion as if he was broken out of a daze,"A week passed by already? Wo-wow, I-I didn't even realise" He shuttered as he detached himself from the wall and took shaky steps towards the bed where his phone was.
Yoongi took in Jimin's pitiful state with angry eyes, he was mad at himself for not checking up on Jimin earlier, he cursed himself for not being there when Jimin needed him, maybe if he was there he could have prevented Jimin from ending up in that state.
His friend looked like a shell of the human he previously was, weak body, and lifeless eyes, doing tasks because he was obliged to.
"Oh, hyung, it really is tomorrow, oh no, I need to organise a bunch of documents and I need to shave as well, ah, thank you, hyung, for the reminder, I don't know what I would have done without you.." Jimin uttered in an exhausted voice as he sounded like he was on the verge of collapsing at any moment.
Yoongi stood there while he watched Jimin gingerly get up from the bed and pull off his tshirt from over his head. He stood there waiting for Jimin to get ready. He had decided that he'd drive his friend home and help him with organising the documents, however, all of his rational thoughts disappeared once Jimin turned around and Yoongi saw a hickey on his neck.
Yoongi's eyes widened.
"Park Jimin, did you have a one night stand?" He asked the question, without thinking further.
Jimin paused as his hand immediately went over the spot on his neck to cover it,"What? Hahaha..no..it's..it's a mosquito bite.." He tried to lie but his own uncertain tone gave him away.
Yoongi's brows started to knit up,"Do you think I don't know the difference between a mosquito bite and a hickey?" He asked as he took rushed steps towards Jimin who was guiltily looking down at the floor and grabbed him by the shoulders.
"Jimin, what are you doing?! This is so not like you! You abandoned your home and stayed in a hotel, consumed unhealthy take outs for the past five days, turned into an alcoholic and now you're sleeping around?!" Yoongi yelled as he shook Jimin back and forth as if he wanted to knock some sense into his friend.
"I did not sleep around!" Jimin yelled back as he slapped Yoongi's hands away, his head lowered as he kept on facing the floor,"I-I tried to but..I couldn't do it.." He softly mumbled out while he sniffed.
"I went out, had a blast dancing and drinking, I talked to a person and before I knew it we were making out but in my drunk haze I kept on thinking it was Taehyung with me and when he leaned back from making the hickey and I saw it was some unknown guy, I panicked and ran out of there, I-I couldn't do it, pathetic right?" Jimin asked with an empty chuckle while a few tears rolled down his cheeks.
Yoongi just stood there looking at the deteriorating state of his friend. His once cheerful and positive friend was nothing like he was before. Yoongi was genuinely saddened by Jimin's condition.
"I-I can't do it" Jimin suddenly uttered making Yoongi knit his eyebrows in confusion.
"What..what are you talking about?" Yoongi softly asked as he cupped Jimin face and lifted it up to face him, he wanted to hear him better.
More tears rolled down Jimin's face,"The divorce, I can't do it, hyung, I-I love him too much, everywhere I look, something reminds me of him, sometimes I hallucinate and think he came to see, I can't keep on going like this! I can't go home, I can't stay at the hotel, can't stay drunk, can't stay sober, can't stay alone, can't stay in a crowd, I JUST CAN'T! IT'S TOO HARD! I'M GOING INSANE, HYUNG, HELP ME!!" Jimin sobbed out as he leaned in and started to hit Yoongi's chest softly with his balled fists in desperation.
Yoongi took the hits silently as held Jimin's frame who cried on his chest, the raw pain that emitted from Jimin's voice, he felt it all.
"Jimin's, tomorrow's the first court appearance.." Yoongi trailed off sadly as he stared at the white wall across from him,"You'd need to go stand in front of the Magistrate with Taehyung by your side and say that you both want a mutual divorce" He whispered the last part.
"I-I can't do it! I can't watch him go! Hyung! Hyung!" Jimin called out as he lifted his head and stared at Yoongi desperately while his fists gripped Yoongi's shirt tightly,"D-Do you think if I ask him to be with me again, he'll say yes?!" He asked out, a sort of madness along with desperation swirling in his eyes. Jimin wanted to be reassured.
'He will...' Yoongi thought. Taehyung would say yes in a heartbeat without thinking if Jimin asked him to call off the divorce, it was all the boy ever wanted, to keep on being with Jimin.
But that would accomplish nothing, they'll just keep on living the lives they had been living up until now, in addition, Jimin would just keep on suffering with the constant knowledge that his husband loved someone else whose place maybe he might never be able to fill and Taehyung having to continue the marriage with someone he never loved in a romantic way.
Even if they managed to reconcile, Yoongi was assured it wouldn't last long, Jimin wouldn't be able to stop wondering if Taehyung truly loved him back and Taehyung wouldn't be able to stop thinking about how his life could have been if he had been with Jungkook instead. The possibility that could have been and the second guessing would lead the already crumbly marriage to it's doom.
And personally, Yoongi didn't want Jimin to get back together with Taehyung, the conversation he had with his house guest earlier certainly made him understand Taehyung's situation but it didn't make him forget what Taehyung did. Yoongi, now, just understood where Taehyung was coming from, he felt bad about his circumstances and understood that he didn't possess any malicious intensions.
However, whether on purpose or not, at the end of the day he ended up hurting Jimin and that was the fact nobody could undo. It couldn't undo the pain Jimin was feeling in that moment.
Why would Jimin voluntarily want to go back to a person who hurt him? Yoongi couldn't make sense of it. According to Yoongi, Taehyung did not deserve Jimin. He had been silent all this time while keeping Jimin's feelings in regard but now he just couldn't. He wanted this divorce to happen.
He couldn't see his friend in pain anymore, at least through a divorce, it might hurt a lot at first but eventually Jimin would get used to it, everybody learned to live with scars along with time. Yoongi trusted Jimin to be strong enough to pull through it, and even if he couldn't Yoongi would assist him in making through it.
He could not let it go on any further, this was enough. Jimin liked to save everybody, now it was Yoongi's turn to save him.
"Don't." Yoongi said as he looked down at Jimin firmly,"Don't do this to yourself, you tried your hardest to get over this until now, don't relapse Jimin, don't continue this meaningless attachment, it'll only hurt you more" He whispered as he grabbed Jimin by the shoulders and pushed him back to look at him properly.
Jimin's face started to become agonised as he felt like Yoongi's words caused him physical pain,"No, no, no, no, no, you lying, you're lying, YOU'RE LYING! IT'LL ALL BE OKAY! WE'LL BE FINE! HE TOLD ME HE'D TRY HIS BEST, MAYBE I CAN TRY MY BEST AND MAKE IT WORK! YOU'RE JUST LYING TO ME BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE HIM, BUT I LIKE HIM, HYUNG!!" Jimin started shouting as he started to aggressively push Yoongi back as if his colleague was his enemy.
Yoongi stumbled back a few steps and gritted his teeth,"JIMIN SNAP OUT OF IT!" He yelled as he charged forward and grabbed Jimin by the collar,"LET HIM GO! IT'S OVER! HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR YOURSELF, DON'T GO THERE BEGGING HIM TO LOVE YOU BACK, PARK JIMIN!" He cried out with all his might.
"EASY FOR YOU TO SAY!" Jimin bellowed while tears streamed down his face,"YOU HAVE HOBI HYUNG! WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT UNREQUITED LOVE, HUH?! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT I'M FEELING RIGHT NOW! YOU'LL NEVER UNDERSTAND!!" He screamed with all his might and started to deflate.
"I tried to ignore it, I really did, but I'm jealous of how in love you and Hobi hyung are, I want what you guys have, I tried to be positive, I really did but whenever I see you guys smiling at each other and hugging, my chest hurts...Hyung, tell me, would you have been able to give up if Hobi hyung had been in Taehyung's place..?" He asked in a small voice as he gazed down on the floor hopelessly.
A small part of Jimin couldn't believe he was saying that to his beloved hyung, the ideal relationship of his favorite colleagues which once provided him with hope was now a bitter reminder of what he lost. Guilt and bitterness swirled together in his gut. He was resentful yet apologetic but couldn't bring himself to apologize for his words, his ego came in between his feelings and actions.
Yoongi stared at his dongsaeng in disbelief. He caught on to that bittersweet smile Jimin flashed him a few times before and tried his best to rub his own happy relationship in Jimin face the least bit possible but it turned out all those efforts were fruitless, the envy had been there since the moment Jimin had found out about Taehyung and Jungkook's affair.
"You're crossing a line..don't you dare bring Hobi into this..!" Yoongi gasped out in bewilderment. The single thought of Hoseok not being in his life was aggregating, it vexed him to imagine his boyfriend with someone else.
"It hurts, doesn't it? You're angry by just imagining it! I WENT THROUGH IT, HYUNG, THIS IS MY REALITY! TELL ME, WOULD YOU HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LET HOBI HYUNG GO?!" Jimin asked loudly as his voice echoed through the empty apartment.
"I would have.." Yoongi whispered while his bangs covered his vision,"I would have!" He took a sharp breath in and yelled at Jimin in determination,"I would have let him go, you hear me?! Do you know why?! Because I respect myself enough to not go begging for love from someone who clearly doesn't deserve me! Yes, I'm angry! And yes, I wouldn't let Hobi go but that's only because I know he loves me, that's why I would fight and adjust for him! BUT YOU'RE FIGHTING FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN LOVE YOU AS A PARTNER AND HE NEVER WILL BECAUSE HE LOVES SOMEONE ELSE AND IS LOYAL TO HIM INSTEAD OF YOU!!!" He screamed ferociously, spilling the bitter truth to Jimin who might have not been prepared to hear it yet.
More tears slipped past Jimin eyes. It was not like he didn't know, he knew but he wanted to be in denial. He wanted to ignore the obvious truth glaring back at him, pretend he still had chances left but Yoongi's words drove the truth home.
He felt his knees buckled as he fell down on the floor and sat there on his knees in a daze.
Yoongi walked around the room while huffing as he gripped his hair tightly in frustration. He lost his composure, yet again.
"Jimin...listen" He sighed out as he walked towards Jimin to crouch down in front of him,"I'm not your enemy, I'm on your side and I will always be on your side that's why I don't want to see you suffer more, the alcohol is influencing your emotions, I can tell, don't let your demons win, you've been so strong up until now, just a little bit more and it'll be over, you'll get over him, trust me" He reassured as he tenderly grabbed Jimin's shoulder, urging the other to look up at him.
"You'll be fine, soon the pain will go away, it hurts now because the wound is fresh but it'll heal and then you'll find someone ten times better who'll only look at you" He uttered, desperate to get his friend to believe him.
Jimin's lost pupils slowly started to look up at Yoongi's worried face,"Am I...even worthy of being loved?" He asked, misery loud and clear in his voice.
Yoongi let out a quivering breath at the question,"You're more than worthy, you deserve it the most" He whispered with sincerity, seeing his friend's broke state was making him tear up.
Jimin snivelled and leaned in to hug Yoongi tightly,"I don't want to fall in love anymore! I-It hurts too much! I never wish to fall for anyone!" He cried out while Yoongi rubbed soothing circles on his back.
"You don't have to if you don't want to" He uttered in remorse as he sat there in the floor of the messy hotel room, comforting his friend, hoping his best to get Jimin out of there soon, they needed to get a lot of things done after all.
Tomorrow was the court appearance.

"I think that's enough for today" Namjoon said as he closed his note pad and skidded down the bed.
Jungkook watched Namjoon write a brief report about that day's session as he usually did and sat there silently, he'd hate to interrupt his doctor while he was clearly doing something important.
Slowly his eyes wandered over to the clock on the wall, it was already past ten in the morning, usually Taehyung showed up by nine but here he was, waiting for the other to show up.
Though he was a bit glad that Taehyung chose that day to run late, it was because Jungkook had that conversation regarding the litigation, their session started a bit late and ran a bit longer than usual.
Now that Jungkook knew he could get a legal remedy, he was more willing to dig through all the traumatic memories and provide Namjoon with information he previous had no idea he owned.
If all the information he just provided was all correct and still in the place where he remembered last seeing them, he'd be helping the police force out a lot, and to say the least it'll only strengthen his case in front of the court, at least that was what Namjoon told him.
And if nothing, Jungkook trusted that he'd get better under Dr. Kim Namjoon's care as his methods were definitely working, even if he lost the case, he'd be glad to come out sane after that entire ordeal.
He'd go through anything to be with Taehyung but where was the other? Jungkook started to drum his finger over his lap as he stared at the door impatiently.
Namjoon perked up at the sudden subdued drumming and glanced up to see Jungkook fidgeting in anxiety.
"What's the the problem, Jungkook?" He asked as he momentarily stopped writing.
Jungkook's attention shifted to his psychiatrist as he stopped the restless tabbing,"He's late" He answered softly.
"Taehyung-ssi?" Namjoon asked out in shock and turned to look at the wall clock,"Yes, strange indeed, he normally shows up by now" He uttered as he turned back to see Jungkook staring at him as if he was looking for a solution.
"Did you have a fight with him?" Namjoon asked, trying his hand a little to see if he could improve and inspire Jungkook's conflict resolution. But his patient just shook his head in response, declining all accusations of an argument.
"Then I'm guessing it must have been an urgent chore" Namjoon provided as he leaned back on his seat,"Why don't you get down and try to walk around a little while you wait for him to show up?" He suggested, the physiological treatment might not fall into his care but even he knew Jungkook needed to practice walking more often to recover sooner.
Jungkook glanced at Namjoon and nodded obediently, removing the blankets from himself to carefully get down from the other side of the bed.
Namjoon observed Jungkook's efforts to get down without any help and felt a little ray of pride bubbling within himself. He never thought Jungkook would be that good at following instructions, moreover, whenever he looked at Namjoon's way, the psychiatrist felt the admiration in Jungkook's eyes.
He was glad to have form such a close bond with his most delicate patient. He couldn't help but get to know the individual more, he already knew all of the past but now he was intrigued by the future. Did he possess the power to turn this wreck of a human being into something marvelous? Namjoon certainly saw the potential.
"Say, Jungkook, what are your plans after you recover and win the case?" He asked while Jungkook was in the middle of taking his step.
Jungkook stopped at the question and paused to think for a moment,"I have no idea, I'll stay wherever Taehyung stays and continue to be with him till I die" He uttered the ridiculous words with such ease that it made Namjoon laugh.
"So basically, you haven't thought about it, that is not good, you know? You should have future plans and goals, purpose is what keeps a person alive" The doctor said as he grabbed his notepad to jot down the little detail Jungkook just uttered.
Jungkook frowned as he took a few steps forward while limping a little, trying to walk on his own as Namjoon had asked him previously,"How do I get one?" He asked as he rounded the bed, still limping.
"You first need to start thinking about what you want to achieve in life, normally people aspire to become rich, own houses, buy cars, travel around the world, ask yourself, what do you want?" Namjoon suggested while keeping his eyes strained on Jungkook, in case the patient lost balance and fell down.
"I just want to be with Taehyung" Jungkook uttered out while staring at the floor,"It's all that I want now, I want to be happy with him" He added softly.
"You should not limit yourself to a person, last time you attached yourself to your mother and we all know how that ended up, don't we?" Namjoon asked gently, as if he was coaxing a dangerous animal on the verge of an outburst.
"Try to think, other than wanting to be with Taehyung, other than saving your mother, what else have you wanted?" The psychiatrist mumble, putting Jungkook in a sort of daze as he spiraled down the memory lane that he had just recently started to wander.
That night. His mother's dead body. Her eyes bulged out and mouth open. A horrified expression occupying her lifeless face. His father fuming while he had his back turned to him. He, himself, standing in the doorway, stunned to his core, taking in the scene served before him. The money he had been saving for college clenched up in the other fist of his father.
College.
Jungkook's eyes started to widen,"College!" He gasped out as he snapped his head towards Namjoon,"I wanted to go to college, get a good job, buy a house, get out of the slums, live an average life" He babbled out without any pause, as if he had no idea he had those desires buried deep inside himself.
Namjoon flashed him, one of his dimple smiles,"See? You have a purpose, actively work towards it, Jungkook" He encouraged,"Do you know what subject you want to study?" He asked.
Jungkook just shook his head in denial, he never really thought about the specifics, when he was a student just being able to enroll in a college alone would have been a big feat.
Namjoon softly grinned,"What are your thoughts about the subject psychology?" He asked.

Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
"OH MY GOD! COMING!!!" Jin yelled out in annoyance as he raced towards the door of his huge mansion in a lavish robe.
"WHO THE FUCK IS IT?!" He yelled as he yanked the door open and saw the irritated face of Yoongi. Jin's irritation and astonishment skyrocketed,"YOU PUNK! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! GO BACK TO OFFICE!" He yelled at Yoongi who only glared back at him.
"Can't, we have an emergency" Yoongi said as he stood there at the entrance of Jin's door.
Jin face palmed,"I just returned from my business trip this morning and already there's an emergency?! Can't a man catch a break?!" He groaned and was about to run upstairs to suit up again but Yoongi's next words stopped him.
"It's not an office emergency" The finance department worker stated, gaining Jin's attention and making him turn around to face him in confusion.
"Well then what is it?" Jin asked with frowning brows as he waited for Yoongi to continue.
Yoongi, in answer just sighed and side stepped, revealing Jimin who was standing behind him staring down at the floor, looking weak and frail.
Jin's eyes instantly snapped to Yoongi's eyes, as if asking what that was about.
"Help us with the documentation process, tomorrow's the first appearance and nothing has been organised" Yoongi said curtly and paused for a bit as he fidget with his fingers,"And also help Jimin a little, he's really down, I thought since you've already gone through it, the divorce, you might be able to help" He added the last part in a small voice while he looked down at his shoes.
Jin just looked at the two mopping individuals standing on his doorway and sighed. That day was going to be a long one.
"Come inside, you two, we have a lot to discuss" Jin said in an exhausted voice as he opened the door wider for his unexpected guests to step in.
Yoongi and Jimin stepped inside and followed Jin's lead. Soon they arrived in the big spacious living room which looked like an art piece designed by an expert interior decorator. It was no wonder, Jin only liked the finest things in life.
As they were getting closer to the couch they started to hear rustling and cooing of a baby.
Yoongi looked at Jin's back in question while the Head of the Public Relations Department just ignored him. Soon they rounded the corner and saw the toddler giggling on the couch while watching cartoons on her iPad.
"Sujin-ah, what did Appa say about too much screen time?" Jin asked in a soft yet scolding voice as he stepped forward and took away the iPad that the pouting 3 year old was extending out.
Jin tossed the device away as if that didn't cost a fortune and picked up his daughter,"Sujin-ah is cruel, Appa was gone for so long but all Sujin-ah cares about are cartoons and toys" Jin pouted while he faced his beloved child.
Sujin giggled at her father and grabbed Jin's handsome face with her tiny hands,"Sujin is sorry, Appa!" She squealed out in pure joy, she really liked her father.
Jin smiled in satisfaction and hugged his daughter, rubbing his clean shaved cheek against her soft one.
Jin opened his eyes to take in the two people standing in his living room and walked towards them,"Here, Sujin-ah, that's Uncle Yoongi and that's Uncle Jimin, they are Appa's friends, introduce yourself to them" Jin encouraged while he rocked her slightly.
"Hello, Sujin's name is Kim Sujin! Sujin is 3 years old! Nice to meet you!" The little girl uttered out the well memorised lines of introduction and bowed a little in front of the guests.
Yoongi and Jimin both looked at each other in confusion, both of them having no idea about how to act in front of a baby. Jin squinted his eyes at them as the awkward silence prolonged and indicated for them to bow back.
Both of them caught on quickly and instantly bowed.
"U-Um, Hello, Kim Sujin-ssi, I'm Min Yoongi, pleased to meet you!" Yoongi declared a bit loudly as he did a 90° perfect bow.
"Hello, Kim Sujin-ssi, I'm Park Jimin, nice to meet you" Jimin whispered while bowing but not going as deep as Yoongi.
Sujin looked at the two grown adult men bowing in front of her and nodded before pointing her tiny finger at Yoongi,"Unki!" She pronounced and then pointed the finger at Jimin,"Dimi!" He announced as she finished giving them titles.
"Aw, our Sujin-ah is so smart! She caught their names instantly! A prodigy indeed~ Say, Sujin-ah, would you like to play with the dollhouse while Appa talks to his friends?" Jin asked cheerfully as he walked around the living room.
"Hm!" Sujin agreed, excited to play with her dolls again. Jin smiled and took her to another room which was a paradise for a child, decorated with all sorts of toys and dolls, no wonder the toddler was excited to begin playing.
Jin put her down in the childproof play area and sighed in relief, his back hurt from the long flight and, now, from carrying his child around. He slowly walked out of that room to return where Yoongi and Jimin stood,"So, what help do you need? Be specific with the details, I'm too tired to come up with my own conclusions" He yawned a little while he spoke, indicating just how tired he was.
Yoongi glanced at Jimin who still looked visibly down and looked back at Jin,"Just tell me which documents need to be brought tomorrow, I'll go grab them from Jimin's house, I'd probably grab his laptop and the file from office as well, it might take me a while to come back, meanwhile I think you could advice him a little about this situation...I think he could use the words of an experienced person..." Yoongi softly spoke while he glanced at Jimin warily.
Jin felt the visible tension between his two colleagues and pinched the bridge of his nose,"Alright, let me give my cousin a call and I'll be right back" He said as he grabbed his phone from the coffee table and walked towards another room.
"You didn't need to do all this.." Jimin whispered as he let himself fall on Jin's couch. He let his head roll back as he stared up at the two stories tall ceiling with the majestic chandelier hanging down over him,"I understood what you were trying to say in the hotel room" He added the last part after wondering if he should say it or not.
"I lost my composure, not to mention my opinion might be a bit biased as well, and you were right when you said I could never understand, I truly can't, it's always easy for one to pass comments when they're not the one going through it so I wanted you to talk to Jin Hyung, the cause might not be the same but he too willingly walked out of a broken marriage, I think his words might give you some sort of closure" Yoongi whispered while he stood in the same spot where he had bowed to Sujin.
Jimin didn't say anything in response, indicating that he did not wish to speak further.
Soon Jin walked out of the other room with a piece of paper in hand and handed it to Yoongi,"These are the documents you'll need, be sure to get them all and print out two photocopies of every document listed here, understood?" Jin spoke carefully, the matter was of utmost importance, he could not afford any mess ups, specially when the appearance was the very next day.
Yoongi nodded,"You can count on me" He said and with a lingering glance at Jimin's direction, who was still facing the chandelier, he walked out of there in silence.
Jin walked Yoongi out to the exit and stood there while Yoongi put on his shoes,"Do you have his house key?" He asked as a passing thought.
Yoongi nodded as he finished with one shoe and got started on the other,"He gave it to me on our ride here, he said he did not want to return home and asked me to get it for him" He said as he finally finished with his shoes and stood up straight to look back at Jin.
"You seem to be hesitating, anything else you want to say?" Jin asked as he leaned on the doorway.
"I was pretty rude and curt with him earlier, we had a big argument, I made him cry a lot today, so I want you to be understanding, play the good cop, Hyung" He said as he dusted his coat a little, intent on keeping his head low to hide his red cheeks from calling Jin, 'Hyung' while asking for a favour.
Jin smirked and ruffled Yoongi's hair,"Aigoo, I had no idea our Yoongi was this cute" He cooed just like he had cooed at Sujin earlier.
Yoongi blushed harder at that and slapped Jin's hand away,"Wha-Whatever! I'm leaving!" He stammered out and was scrambling away within moments.
Jin stood there chuckling while he watched Yoongi pulling out of the driveway and driving off into the road. Jin sighed as he leaned away from the doorway and closed the door, he had another dongsaeng to take care of after all.

"I don't know, doctor...I'm still conflicted about all this" Jungkook softly whispered as he now sat on the edge of the hospital bed, directly facing Namjoon.
"Why? You're a quick learner and a great observer plus your own traumatic experiences will help you understand the subject better, you'll learn and discover so much about yourself that reading others will become a piece of cake!" Namjoon insisted as he almost sprung to his feet and held Jungkook by his forearms.
"Just think about it, it's a great subject to pursue, I know you'll do great at it and psychology is getting more into demands, jobs are opening up everywhere, and if you want you can even do an internship under me! I'll show you the ropes and then you can go off and become something on your own" He said, a little too excited at the prospect of the person he found that fascinating joining the same field as him.
Jungkook looked down, Namjoon's happiness not reaching him in the slightest,"I don't even know if I can accomplish all that, I feel a bit too pressured, doctor.." He whispered.
"Trust yourself" Namjoon stated as he leaned back,"Set unbelievable goals and work towards it, don't let your past drag you down, what has happened, has happened, you can't help it anymore, acknowledge the loss and mistakes and move forward" He said giving Jungkook a few comforting pats.
"I just feel like there's a lot on my plate, doctor, can I let you know my answer after the matter regarding the suit has subsided?" He asked, looking up at Namjoon, indicating that he wasn't fully rejecting his proposal.
Namjoon perked up at the words and smiled,"Sure! We'll be keeping in touch anyway, feel free to reach out any time! Oh, you don't have a phone, right?" He asked out loudly as he quickly wrote down his personal cell phone number on a piece of paper and handed it back to Jungkook.
"Be sure to ask Mr. Seokjin-ssi before using his phone, it's common courtesy to ask for consent first before using something when you're living in someone else's house, alright?" He gently warned making Jungkook look up at him who was previously eyeing the number digits.
"Consent? What's that?" He asked, clueless as an infant.
Namjoon stared back at Jungkook with wide eyes until it finally clicked in, Jungkook grew up in a broken house where his father used to snatch away all the money that his mother used to earn, both his parents were out most of the time so the limited amount of manners he had learned was from school and kindergarten, moreover his adolescence was spent in a Red Light District, the idea of consent was probably the last thing one could expect from there.
All the things that went down in Jungkook's life, happened without his consent, even asking was far fetched as he was directly thrusted into those situations without another word. No wonder his brain automatically came on to the conclusion that asking for consent and permissions were just some idealistic rituals that never worked in the harsh world.
Namjoon couldn't help but let a nervous chuckle escape out of disbelief,"Yo-you um, alright, so um, consent basically means permission to do something" He said a bit awkwardly while scratching his head.
Jungkook tilted his head in confusion,"So I need his permission before using the phone to call you? But why? The phone is there for communication purposes so then why do I need to ask for permission?" He asked the query that plagued his mind.
"It's a form of courtesy, a form of politeness, you're a guest in his house, you need to be polite, besides consent is a term that covers a lot of things, when you'll return to the society you'll have to act like normal humans and consent is a big thing" He uttered, swinging his hands around in the air to explain it but the hands only distracted Jungkook.
"I don't understand, can you give examples?" He asked as he caught Namjoon's hand, stopping it from moving anymore and stared back into Namjoon's eyes, waiting for him to continue.
"Hmm like if you go to a restaurant to eat and all the tables are occupied but one person is sitting on a table of four all by themselves, you'll have to go ask for their permission to sit with them before just slumping down on the seat, that's consent right there, if you don't ask for it they might get offended" Namjoon explained.
"So I'm just giving them false authority over me? Making myself look inferior? The restaurant is full, they should understand if someone comes to sit on their table that they're hogging for themselves instead of being offended, it sounds stupid, why do I need to ask for permissions for obvious things?" Jungkook grumbled under his breath as he crossed his hands over his chest.
Namjoon sighed,"You don't become inferior by asking permissions, if anything it raises you up in their eyes, listen, Jungkook, humans are social creatures and no matter how much you prefer being alone, you'll have to go out in society for various reasons and then you can't just do as you please, there are certain rules that we follow while socializing, consent fulfills a vital role in that" He elaborated as he sat back down on his seat and crossed his legs.
"Remember in the beginning you didn't like being touched by strangers? There are some people out there who don't like being touched or spoken to either, obviously most people don't have a problem with it and they'll most probably say yes if you just ask but there can be exceptions, remember no one likes an asshole who invades their private space so by asking first you're showing your considerate nature and politeness, people tend to like polite people more, and if people like you, life becomes a lot easier, since you'll be on your own soon, you'll need all the tricks in the book" He said with a smile.
"What if the person who was occupying the empty table declines me even after I asked for their permission? Aren't they being unfair? There was space to sit right there" Jungkook asked a counter question, still very much stuck in that one scenario.
"If they decline, then they decline, no means no, Jungkook, if they don't give you permission then you can't force your way in to sit on that table, if you put yourself in their shoes, maybe they are saving the table for their family who are on their way or they might be having a pretty bad day, they might not want to talk to anybody let alone see anyone, everybody goes through those days, you'll just be ruining their day further by doing something they clearly don't consent to, of course if that person is being unreasonable then the restaurant staff might come and make seat for you but if nothing happens you can always ask the staff to pack your food in a container and go sit and enjoy your food somewhere else, it's written nowhere that you'll have to sit in that crowded place, you know?" He stated, watching how Jungkook took all of it in, silently.
"How often do I have to ask for consent?" Jungkook asked out his new question.
"Very often, trust me, you'll know when you'll need to ask" Namjoon supplied while smiling slightly, once again proud of how quickly Jungkook got it, his gut never lied, the potential was right there in Jungkook, he just needed to enhance it further.
"And with that they'll like me more?" Jungkook carefully spelled out, thrilled at the new hack they just learned.
Namjoon chuckled,"It wouldn't be something huge but they'll let their guard down slightly" He explained further.
"I see" Jungkook uttered and took a moment to think when suddenly the door of the private ward opened and Taehyung peeked in.
"Morning, doctor, may I come in?" He asked as he waited by the ajar door.
Namjoon turned to Jungkook and smiled,"See? Consent" He whispered happily and turned back to Taehyung,"Yes, please come in, Taehyung-ssi" He said as he stood up from his seat.
Taehyung came in with a bag that most probably contained homemade food, Jungkook guessed.
"How is he today?" Taehyung asked Namjoon as he closed the door behind him and stepped forward.
"In the most optimum conditions imaginable" Namjoon provided with one of his dimpled smiles and turned back to Jungkook,"Alright then, that's it for today, I'll see you in the afternoon" He informed and waited for a few seconds to see Jungkook nod in acknowledgement before he smiled at Taehyung and excusef himself from the room.
"You're late" Jungkook pouted as soon as the door closed shut with a click.
Taehyung chuckled and turned to look at Jungkook,"Bad traffic" He grinned as he came forward and started to unpack the food he had brought from home.
Jungkook observed Taehyung's busy back for a bit before he put all of his body weight on his legs and hobbled towards Taehyung.
Taehyung heard the heavy footsteps and predicted Jungkook was coming closer to hug him. As if on cue, he felt arms sneaking around his waist while Jungkook rested chin on his shoulder, watching him work from behind.
"You made so much food again, are they using you as their own personal chef?" Jungkook asked out as he watched how Taehyung served a little bit of everything into a disposable plate.
"No? I made these out of my own free will, I grow restless if I'm made to sit in one place and given nothing to do all day" Taehyung provided gently as he held up one piece of egg-roll with his chopsticks, feeding it to Jungkook.
"And with the knees hurt, I was made to stay still on the bed for many days, my muscles started cramping up, I felt like I needed to walk around or at least bend my body a little, cooking helped me a lot in getting rid of the sore muscles" Taehyung added as he finished putting some kimchi on the side and glanced back at Jungkook,"The food's served, you need to back away a bit or I can't turn around" He whispered softly.
"And if I don't?" Jungkook asked as he nuzzled his nose a little in Taehyung's neck.
Taehyung felt a shiver run down his spine, he knew where this was heading. Up until now with Jungkook struggling to walk, they had just talked about his therapy sessions and how well he was recovering, on occasions when Jungkook demanded for it, they had even kissed, but now that he could walk around, Taehyung didn't know if kiss will be the only thing Jungkook would stop at.
"The-Then the food will go co-cold..!" Taehyung shuttered out, his face flushing red.
"You know.." Jungkook began while his hands started to sneak up,"I've been tied to the bed for a while as well, I feel my muscles tensing up, wanna help me stretch them out?" He asked in a low voice while he nipped on Taehyung's earlobe.
Taehyung's eyes widened at the indication. An uncomfortable feeling started to swirl within himself. It's not like he didn't like it when Jungkook came closer but after what took place that morning, he just didn't have the heart or will to initiate anything that day.
In the past if he had said no to Jungkook he would have to go through a tantrum but now with Jungkook's condition improving day by day, Taehyung was hopeful for a more positive response.
"I..don't feel very good today, Jungkook.." He whispered hesitantly as he gripped the edge of the table tightly, knowing it wouldn't come but still preparing himself for the worst.
Jungkook slowly backed away making Taehyung panic he might have upset the boy. The silver head turned around to see Jungkook sitting down on the bed's edge, right beside him as he looked up at him in concern,"Are you sick?" He asked as he patiently waited for Taehyung to response.
"I'm just having a bit of a gloomy day, or maybe it's just the nerves, tomorrow's the court appearance, I've never been to a court before, I have no idea, I feel kind of restless and impatient today" He provided as he leaned down to grab Jungkook's feet and lifted it up on the bed, helping the patient with broken ribs to scoot back on the bed and sit properly for the breakfast.
"Gloomy day.." Jungkook softly repeated as he observed Taehyung saddened face and suddenly Namjoon's words from a while ago came back to him.
"I learnt about consent today" He voiced out while he graciously took the plate of food Taehyung was handing him.
Taehyung's dazed eyes settled back on him again,"Consent?" He asked as he took a seat on the chair by the bed.
Jungkook nodded and started to pick up a bit of kimchi with his chopsticks,"Doctor, told me, it's a big thing in society and that I'll need to ask for permissions for very small things and that way people will like me better, he said it makes one come across as polite and considerate" He discussed his progress like he had been doing for the past week.
Taehyung smiled,"He's right, people will like you better if you're polite and considerate" He whispered fondly, strangely being proud of how quickly Jungkook grasped into something, his brain was sharp, all he needed was the correct guidance.
Jungkook chewed on his kimchi for a moment while he thought for a few seconds before he looked back at Taehyung,"And I want you to like me better" He stated firmly.
Taehyung started to frown,"But I already like yo-"
"I never asked for your permissions" Jungkook cut him off stubbornly,"I'm thinking back and I'm remembering many instances where I should have asked what you wanted but instead I had done what I felt like doing, I can't help but wonder if you had disliked me a little in all those moments" He softly stated his worries as he looked up at Taehyung sadly,"I don't want you to dislike me, Taehyung" He uttered out in remorse.
"Jungkook.." Taehyung whispered in a dismal tone. It was only natural Jungkook would start to regret his actions now, since the main goal of his therapy was to develop a moral compass for him, to make him eligible for society. Now that he was learning the basics of everything and getting comfortable while recalling past memories, it was natural for him to be in depressive episodes more often and regret his past actions.
"I'm trying my hardest to get better, to become well enough for you and that's why I want to start the good changes from you first" He said while his eyes started to glisten,"I hope I can become a man you feel proud of loving, one day" He softly added.
Taehyung put his hand over Jungkook's hand and gave a small reassuring smile,"I believe in you" He whispered while sniffing a bit.
Jungkook felt tears running down his cheeks at that little assurance,"I-I..I don't have flowers or chocolates with me right now" He suddenly blurted out confusing Taehyung a little.
"Yes?" Taehyung asked out with knitted brows.
"Nor can I get down on my knees for you but even so I want to ask you this" Jungkook continued and took Taehyung's in his own, holding it gently while he stared at Taehyung's eyes,"Will you be my boyfriend?" He finally asked with a quivering breath, anticipating Taehyung's response.
Taehyung had said he loved him before and he was pretty sure he confessed to Taehyung multiple times but they were never officially together, their love had no name.
A few days ago, Namjoon had told him how every relationship needed a name, specially, the ones which were romantic and he realised he had never asked Taehyung to be his boyfriend. So there he was, sitting on the hospital bed with a rib cast wrapped around his chest, in a hospital gown that definitely did not cover his ass, holding Taehyung's hand in his own while he asked him to be his boyfriend.
Taehyung was too stunned to speak, he was not expecting that,"I....Can I tell you my answer after a month?" He asked with teary eyes. He didn't know if he had the courage to become Jungkook's boyfriend while he was still technically Jimin's husband. If he was going to say yes, he'd rather do it after the divorce was over.
Jungkook was visibly disappointed but he nodded regardless,"I understand, I will wait" He mumble as he started to stir the rice with a little pout.
Taehyung let out a small chuckle with teary eyes as he took in Jungkook's face and felt a little better. Jungkook responded in a more positive way than what he had imagined.
He was glad Jungkook was getting better.
