Estefania's P.O.V.

I hoisted myself up from the ground and slowly walked to her. All of these years. If I die, I die remembering my mother. The one who took me in and cared for me. The one who defended me no matter what. The one who sacrificed her life for me.

I swayed back and forth on my way there and lost my balance multiple times. But I never looked back. It was a sign of weakness. I didn't want to be helped. I didn't need it.

I arrived at my destination and started at her body. At the perfect curves and angles. I loved everything about her. But the one thing I longed to see ever since she left me was her eyes. The dazzling diamonds that glistened like freshly fallen snow.

I placed my hands on her chest and took a deep breath. Inhaling, I took in all the memories. Exhaling, I left the past and cherished the moments. Inhaling one last time, I bid farewell to everyone I loved. For this was probably going to be the last time.

Slowly, the process began.

My eyes glowed white as I felt all of my energy being transferred to my mama. I put more and more energy in by the second. Toward the last few seconds, I got very dizzy and a wave of fatigue crashed inside of me. I felt my life slowly unwinding like a spool of thread, giving way for something more beautiful to be created, like an embroidery. I felt the black sand curl around my fingers and disperse into the air around us. But I didn't stop there. I put more force and all of my energy into my mother. When all of a sudden, I feel her chest, ever so slightly, start to expand.

I took my hands off of mama's chest and fell back, my head hitting the floor. My eyes starting closing again and it took all of my might to just keep them open. My mom slowly raised herself from the ground and looked around. I suddenly saw aunty Phi Phi and papa crowding around her and I, too, lifted myself up and slowly walked over to examine my mama. I stopped and looked at her. Her eyes shined and glimmered. This was the very last thing I wanted to see before I left. I pulled her into a tight embrace and smothered her with kisses. "I love you, mama." I pulled back and saw those beautiful eyes one more time.

My wish came true.
