The Avengers tried to greet me when they saw me, but my expression caused them to realise something was wrong and they just let me go. I'm glad they did that. I just wasn't in the mood to speak with anyone.

I reach my room and shut the door behind me, then collapse onto the bed with a sigh. Hugging a pillow to my chest, I start mentally scold myself for getting my hopes up. I honestly thought we would find something, anything, that could help me break the curse. When I'd seen one Asgardian charm work already in the form of that translation pendant I wore (I returned it to Odin before we left) I really thought we could find what we needed. But, just like always, I was wrong.

When the night reached us, I changed and went to sleep, cursing in Tamatari when I woke up the next morning. I wasn't feeling up to facing the world again. My good spirits had been deadened and trampled on, like soldiers killed in battle. I just wanted to lie around for a while.

So I did just that. I stayed in bed, trying to sleep in until I couldn't sleep anymore and I was growing a little bored of laying around doing nothing. I started to sing, my harmonic voice filling the room.

I'm so engrossed in the bittersweet lyrics that I never even heard the door open or saw my audience. The applause startled me. I look over to see all of the Avengers along with Loki. They all seem impressed, save for Natasha and Loki, but they rarely give off facial expression.

"Why are you all here?!" I ask, embarrassed for whatever reason. "We heard you singing, you're great," Steve was the first to answer, followed by several other compliments from the others. "Hm... you any good on a piano, kid?" Tony asks, an idea forming in his head. "I know a few pieces," I confirm. "Nothing extravagant or particularly notable. Why do you ask?"

"No reason," he smirked. The only thing I got out of probing his thoughts were bunnies again. "Bunnies? Really?" I give him an inquisitive look. He shrugs. "It works, doesn't it?"

No...

But he doesn't need to know that...

I simply sigh and place my head in my hands. "I am sorry I bothered you all. I will not do it again." "Lexis, you weren't bothering us at all," Steve insists. "Tony and I were walking past and we noticed your door was open. When we came over to close it, you started singing. The others found us here and joined us listening to you."

"But... I definitely closed the door last night and I have not touched it since," I say, confused. I look at them all, trying to figure out if any of them were in the room and, if so, who.

My eyes landed on Loki, who suspiciously was still blocking me from his mind. Everyone else looked in the same direction, even Thor. Loki just calmly looks back at us. After a full minute he finally spoke.

"I did enter here in the night. I did not lay a finger on the lady, she would have woken and screamed in pain if I did. I wished to make sure she was alright. When I saw her asleep, I watched for a moment to make sure everything was as fine as I could tell. Then I left. I left the door ajar so I would be able to hear if something happened to her. That is all I did. I never meant any harm."
