~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The shrill of a demon broke the silence of the night and alerted the guards on the wall. The young male raced to the warning bell at his post and rang it violently. The others fought the winged beast but were cut down quickly by the barbed end of the tail. The creature landed and turned its deformed face to stare at the young man who stood still like a deer. Its vertical mouth opened to expose shark like teeth within, black like substances dripped from its maw as it stalked to the young male. It hissed then backed up and lunged at the male, but before it could reach him black wings appeared and the female dressed in black clothing appeared and kicked it hard in its face. The demon was thrown back hard and landed in a heap of broken limbs and bones. She turned her gold gaze at the male, "Get out of here, Ill take care of here." She said, smiling as the male ran down stairs in the outpost.
She stood on the edge, looking up to the twin moods in the sky and the black figures of the army in the air. Her knee length coat billowed in the wind. She wore tight leather pants, a pale cream shirt that exposed a bit of her chest and the opal stone necklace, with a vest on top. Her knee length lace up boots had a thirty-centimetre length blade that was dipped in holy water. She pulled it out and cut down another winged demon that landed near her. Then she twirled and threw the holy blade at another in mid flight demon and watched it sizzle as it came down. A rider of the winged creatures dropped down and grinned at her, "Hello, little princess. Daddy requests you to come with me." He said pulling out a sword, "Sure, sure. Ill come. But without a fight." She unsheathed a sword, the blade made of clear crystal that glowed a light blue, and the hilt was made of silver and gold and had outstretched wings. "Fine, but I wont be easy." The demon mused, "Whatever makes you feel good." She muttered as she moved first, upper cutting the rider, but he dodged out of the way and went to attack her side. But she was also quick and blocked his sword, "Come on, I thought you said you wont be easy." She said slamming the heel of her boot into his stomach and sent him tumbling backwards.
"I was getting started," He hissed and got back up, baring his needle pointed teeth. "Of course, always getting started." She mocked as he attacked first, but she deflected his attack like she was flicking a piece of dirt of her shoulder. It angered the demon more and he started to attack with more heavy attacks. Again, she just blocked them all, "Yawn, I thought you were honestly gonna be a challenge." She sighed as she side stepped his overhead cut, then grabbed his wrist and disarmed him easily.
"You bitch!" He howled as she held up anther dagger, glistening from the holy water. "You're the bitch here, working for that filthy mongrel." She growled as she brought down the blade into his heart and watch his corpse twitch crazily until the black liquid stopped flowing out of his mouth. She looked up to see the rest of the army marching up to the wall, thousands of red eyes glowed in the misty night. Looking back into the city, she saw the institute alight and could see her own army fighting the winged demons. She went back to the edge and opened her arms, then began to chant in a language unknown to mere humans, as her fingertips began to glow a bright gold light. The light moved to the inside of her palm and she lifted her head up, the air around her grew warm as she brought her hands together. She held the light as if it was a ball, then using all her strength shot the gold light at the marching army. It made a sound like electricity running in wires, a loud humming vibrated through the air.
She watched as the army tried to run away from the light, but most of them were caught in the blaze and just turned into charcoal and floated away like embers. She heard the cry of "Attack!" in the crowd of demons and watched them all surge forward, ignoring the ones who got caught in the light. She tried to stop the ones at the wall, but couldn't and felt the wall shake as the huge brutes continuously rammed against it. The wall collapsed where she stood and she had to take to the air, then flew into the army and attacked from above, cutting down demons with her magic. She heard a roar and saw that a huge dragon, black like tar, flying right at her. She didn't have time to move since the dragon was very quick and grabbed her in his huge maw; she felt its teeth piece her body as she cried out in pain. It took her to the edge of the floating landmass and threw her down into the thick mist covered forest below. She opened her wings to ease the fall but still crashed into the trees. She landed in shrubs and groaned as she fought her way out of the foliage, then rolled to her knees and coughed up blood. Her wounds weren't closing quickly but her heart squeezed when she heard that familiar voice, "Well, well, well. Look what we have here." The voice came behind her, his voice was smooth like honey, but she wasn't going to be fooled by his voice.
"Oh no, wounds not closing? My dragon can paralyse the healing process, new thing that I designed just for you, Celestia. That's a shame, for you, but great fun for me." He said as she felt him kicked her in the stomach. She hit the trunk of the tree and gasped as the wind was knocked out from her, "I know he said not to kill you, but he didn't say not to torture you." She gazed up to meet dark green eyes that looked at her like she was food. His hair was tousled like always, black curls framed his strong face, straight nose and light freckled cheeks. His skin was dark, like he was in the sun for a while. But she could see his skin becoming pale, "Got nothing to say?" He rose his eyebrows up as he looked down at her, "Ah, your surprised to see me. Heh, your banishment finally crumbled after what... A thousand years?" He said, "How? I-I made sure it was set in stone..." She held her stomach as she coughed up more blood. "Well, my darling Celestia, you know what can also happen? It can erode away after a while, and your generous father sped that process up and look at me now. I stand before you, no longer screaming in pain when I set a foot near you or your precious floating city." He grinned as he kicked her hard in the face, throwing her to the side.
"You bastard... Acheron..." She hissed between her teeth, spitting blood at his shoes. "Aw, now come on, don't treat your ex fiancé like that." He said frowning as he reached out and grabbed her by her hair, "Shall we have a bit of fun first before I take you back?" He whispered sickly into her ear, she felt him touch her and she tried to scream but the paralysis was taking over her body quickly. But if it was just paralysing venom... it always had a flaw. And she spotted a plant not far from her that could rid the venom. Using her bit of strength left, she kicked him hard between his legs and he let her go as he cried from the pain. He dropped her and she began to crawl slowly to the bush, just a touch and the plant will instantly help her. Reaching out she brushed her fingers on the leaf before Acheron grabbed her flipped her over on her back, he held her down, "Ill fucking teach you, you slut." He growled. She felt the plant erase the venom and she simply grinned, "What the fuck are you grinning about?" He said but didn't see the blade flash in her hand and made its home in his neck.
"I'm grinning about how Ill show you what anger and pain feels." She kicked him off and he went flying backwards and landed hard on his back. He was choking, she could hear him as she stood and limped towards him. He had managed to pull out the blade but his skin was blackening and burning, "Tsk, tsk. I didn't say you could pull that out." She flicked her fingers and the blade went back in. He cried out in agony, "That sweet sound makes me shiver with pleasure," she grinned, "Now its my turn to teach you, my darling ex fiancé." Her black cane appeared in her hand, the silver raven with its wings outstretched sat on top of an onyx stone that glowed a dull red. Pulling the handle outwards revealed a blade that was at least sixty centimetres long. "This blade was made by the Angels in heaven, they specifically crafted it to take down powerful demons such as you." She explained as she ran her slender fingers along the three centimetre thick blade. She watched as the inscriptions on the blade glowed from her touch and she placed it against his chest. She heard his gurgling whimper, "Oooh, scared eh? Well, that's how I felt. Now its your turn." She slowly pierced his chest, watching as smoke appeared as the blade cut into him.
Acheron couldn't cry, but tremble with the pain, the blade in his neck made it worse since a single sound he made was like someone ripping out his vocal cords over and over again. His body convulsed as the angelic blade went deeper; his insides became liquid as it burned the very core of his soul. He felt the darkness in his mind spread over his conscience, dragging him into the Void. But he didn't stop fighting, he held on to his soul and fought the pain, but he knew that she wouldn't stop until she saw him die. So he used his strength to hold on and pretend he had died. He twitched then stopped, his breathing coming to a stop as he looked up blankly like dead people would do. "Aw, I was hoping you'd die slower, but oh well. I have better things to attend to." She said pushing the blade all the way in before pulling it back out, "Have fun being food for the nightmares here." She said as she opened her wings and flew back up to Nihadi, she could already hear the fighting.
She was glad that her army took the fighting outside the city, though some had escaped into the city but the Falconers back at the institute took them down easily. She saw the crystal towers blazing fiery colours, it channelled the power and confidence into the Falconers, making them more deadly and quicker if some hadn't gone through the change yet.
Something quick and powerful tackled her out of the sky. It threw her down into the red ceramic roof of a house and left her there, debris of the house had fallen on top of her. She was pinned down by a piece of sharp wood that was in her chest. But she was dizzy and in pain, her body screamed at her, to move, to allow her to heal. But she was knocked out pretty badly. Until she saw a female face within her blurry vision, then other faces appeared and she felt stuff shift from under her, then felt the weight of the wooden beam gone and her chest healing. "Celestia!" She heard her name being called out, her vision became clear eventually and saw Ivory, her vampire best friend looking at her with a worried look.
"What the hell happened? What are you doing in here?" She asked, as Ivory and Lukas who was there apparently pulled Celestia to her feet. "I don't know, I... Something came behind me and knocked me out." She said as she was helped out of the broken house. "Did you see what it was?" The black hair girl asked, but watched the confusion of Celestia's face. "How long was I out..." She whispered as she saw the bodies lay on the ground, Falconers wandered around, cleaning up the bloody mess.
"Wait... You mean you were out for this whole entire time? Celestia... It's been four hours!" Ivory stood before her friend, but Celestia looked away from her and moved her attention to the institute. "What is wrong with the institute?" She asked, she saw the four towers that surrounded the cathedral looking building were pitch black. "Well, while you were sleeping in that rubble, Acheron decided to take that chance to take over it." She said, "And none of you guys decided to try and take it back?" Celestia barked, but instantly turned pale but Lukas, who was Acherons twin brother, held her up. "We cant, not even I can. Acheron has that place in lock down." Lukas said, she looked up to meet his icy blue eyes, the only difference between the Sandoval brothers.
"What does he want?" Celestia asked as she took her cane from Ivory, "You." Ivory said, "But in exchange for someone." She added, but got a glare from Lukas. "Who is it?" Celestia insisted but paused and realised whom it was, "Cassie!" She cried and darted away from Lukas. Both Ivory and Lukas called out to Celestia but couldn't stop her as she took to the air, her wings barely held her up as she came closer to the institute. The cathedral building loomed high above as she went through the barrier without hassle.
She went straight for the large glass window that depicted the Goddess Miu. Arms raised and held both the moon and sun in her palms. She stared at the benevolent face of the Goddess and sent a prayer of forgiveness as she flew into it. Glass shards went everywhere and she looked like a fierce warrior coming down from heaven if for the fact she didn't land on her feet but landed on her back and rolled like a sack of potatoes and stopped just before the large double doors. Her face was cut from the glass as she lifted her self up in a sitting position. She saw a figure in the large chair that Cassie would sit in when working on a project or instructing a job to Celestia.
"What an entrance, save for the clumsy landing." Acheron clapped as he sat back and kicked up his feet on the large red wood desk. He brushed of glass from his hair and clothes then simply just watched Celestia, "You know, this would be a perfect room to rule. So elegant, plenty of books to read." He admired the second level that held old ancient books that Cassie collected over her immortal years. Tapestries hung on the left and right side of the room, showing past kings and queens and deities that Nihadi worshipped.
There were large fires that roared on either side, both with couches and a table before them. Cassie literally lived in this room, so she made it more homely. And even more shelves with books was around the room. Except for the corner on the left side that lead to a secret passage way under the institute.
"Everything is simply perfect, just not the tapestries. So ugly." Acheron shook his head, "Shut your pie hole. What do you want?" Celestia stood, looking very pissed. But it didn't faze Acheron, "I thought I killed you." She had to hold back, she needed to see what he wanted first. "Almost killed me. I simply held on to my life, and just acted like I died. Should of maybe cut me up." He said, "Oh don't you worry, I will!" She cried as she began to move to him, "Ah! Not so fast!" He held up his hand and clicked his fingers, one of his henchmen held Cassie in his arms. Her clothing was ripped and she was beaten up badly, and she could see that they had done horrible things to her.
"You let her go, you fucker." She yelled, her gold eyes blazing with anger, "Only if you come with me, then I shall let her go." He said, "How can I guarantee that you will do that?" She said, struggling to control her anger. "I will, I promise. Ill let her walk away, at the same time you walk to my guard." He said, his green eyes showing mischief and delight.
"She can barely walk, let me at least help her to a chair-" She was cut off, "No, I don't trust you one bit. You could do your little fancy teleportation trick on me." He said standing up as he walked around the table and stood in the middle of the room. "If you don't do what I say, Ill have her killed and fed to the hounds." He said as he looked at his guard, who held her head in his meaty hand. She was whimpering and crying, her face bloody and bruised. Celestia felt panicked, unsure what to do. She had to come up with something, but had nothing in mind. She felt tears sting her eyes; she didn't want to be in her fathers clutches again, she knew what he'd do to her.
"Come on princess, its not hard to decide. I know how you are protective of little Cassie here." Acheron pushed on, feeling a little impatient. "Fine, whatever. Ill do it." She said, "Now let her go," She said, "Start walking then." He said and so she did, his guard let Cassie go and she hobbled past Celestia, touching her hand softly as Celestia was grabbed by the guard. Acheron began to laugh, "So fucking gullible." He said and appeared behind Cassie.
"I wasn't going to let this lovely vessel full of power go to waste." He said, his eyes turned to sickly white colour as he held her face in his hands. He began to absorb her strength, and something inside Celestia exploded out of her as she got out of the guards grasp. "YOU SON OF A BITCH!" She roared, she had pulled Acheron away, and her opal necklace burned brightly, the whole room was engulfed in the blinding light as the pair was thrown into the Void. The light disappeared when they were sucked in; somehow Celestia lost Acheron in the Void and just floated aimlessly in the whiteness, for god knows how long. She wasn't even awake; her body was in a comatose state practically. Until a rift in the Void opened up and dragged her in, throwing her into another dimension.
She landed so hard on a set of stairs that cracks appeared around her. The people who were there at the time panicked and ran away, unsure of where this body of a girl came from. Some returned to look who it was, but were unsure of since the girl was strangely dressed. Guards in what seemed like gold armour came rushing down to see the commotion. A male with blond hair and a red cape that flowed behind him followed them. He was decked out in armour that exposed his bare muscled arms, his silvery hammer in hand.
Another male followed behind him, he had green eyes and black hair that came to the nape of his neck and was neatly combed back. The pair looked at the girl with confusion and surprise, "Oh, a body of a girl. Where do you think she came from, brother?" The male that was dressed in black, green and gold clothing spoke, "I have no idea, but she looks awfully pale. Guards take her to the healing room; once she is checked take her to the dungeons. I will tell father about this." The blond hair male said, leaving the guards to do what he asked. "I'm pretty sure with a landing like that, she is fine." The other said, "That is what I'm worried about. Landing like that, a mortal would have been dead. She is no mortal, brother." He said, heading up to seek his father, and to speak of a mysterious girl who fell from nowhere.
