51 | Two Mums
Nobody knew what happened in the office between Fawnie and Thomas–save for Bonnie of course. The only indicator that something had gone awry had been Fawn's absence from Arrow House. She'd only come by to see Charlie now. Just as Tommy said he had an obligation to Lizzie; Fawn had an obligation to her little brother.
She wanted him to know the same love of having siblings as she did. And little Charles was such a sweet boy it was quite easy to spend time with him.
Whenever she wasn't with her brother she'd be with Bonnie and his family. They knew about their plans to marry and were already helping plan the event despite the date being months away. Fawnie reached out to Linda like she promised but made her aunt promise to not make it a traditional Christian affair and to let Bonnie's family help.
Linda reluctantly agreed after Fawn reminded her that Linda was lucky to be in the know at all.
It was kind of beautiful seeing the families work together; even if there was some tension. But the Gold's were kind people and even if the Shelby's got under their skin, they dealt with it for their Bonnie boy. Fawn loved that about them.
They were so selfless compared to her family. Most of which would rather not help at all. (those being the men, that is). Every woman in her family wanted to help. Fawnie felt incredibly loved every time they'd ask about it. Victoria even wanted to help—that made her cry to Bon about how glad she was that she found Victoria.
He just smiled and hugged her, Bonnie always knew how to respond to Fawn. Everything was coming together perfectly.
Lizzie and Tommy married in March, it was hastily planned but so gorgeous nonetheless. Despite her age, Fawnie was the flower girl with Charlie as the ring bearer. Bonnie even stood in as a groomsman. The family's long time friend, Jeremiah Jesus married Lizzie and Thomas that afternoon.
A few people cried. Arthur cried enough for both families though, he was crying as Lizzie walked down the aisle and into the reception too. Fawnie realized how emotional her uncle was that day. He really couldn't keep himself inside like Tommy did.
The entire day felt like a breath of relief for Fawnie, she found herself happy to call Lizzie her step mum. As they celebrated the union, Fawn, Finn, Isiah, and Bonnie ran off to get high in the yard again. It was like a tradition for them to fuck off at family functions.
Esme never showed up, but Johnny Dogs said she sent her regards; that stung Fawn. She missed her aunt terribly... it was obvious Tommy felt a bit disrespected but he didn't mention it.
He seemed to smiled for the first time that day, Fawnie couldn't tell if it was because he was smug about having married Lizzie due to the pregnancy or if he was genuinely happy. Regardless, it was a beautiful affair.

Seeing Victoria talking with her new stepmum was jarring for Fawnie. It was like two worlds colliding before her eyes, but the women didn't argue, not one bit. If anything, it's like Lizzie was glad Victoria even came at all.
"Fawnie! Come here, darling," Fawn couldn't pretend to not have heard Liz's voice, so she turned away from Finn with a red face. "Come," Lizzie urged.
She found herself standing across from Victoria and Lizzie expectantly. "Yes?"
Lizzie rolled her eyes at Fawnie, "Stop acting like that, we was wondering if you wanted to help with a baby shower after you and Bonnie marry."
Fawnie shushed Lizzie harshly, "I've not told anyone outside of you and Tommy–well Polly knows now but like... nobody here knows much of it. Besides Bonnie's family too... I mean, I suppose everyone knows but–" Fawn cut herself off, "Sorry, just a bit anxious is all."
"That's alright love, it's not an immediate answer we need."
"Wait, you're helping with it?" Fawn asked Victoria.
Her mum smiled, "Of course I am, Fawnie Rose, why wouldn't I?"
The girl shrugged, "I dunno isn't it awkward? All things considered?" She said, referring to Victoria's previous relations with Thomas.
"Not really no, I've no bad feelings toward the family. I'm more grateful than anything." Fawnie looked at her funny, "You were raised into a fine young woman, that's everything and more that I could have hoped for after I left you behind."
Fawn felt funny inside, like her stomach was being thrown about inside her chest. "Oh." She said quietly, nodding to herself.
"Let me know when you've decided, love, I thought you might like to help since you've been so good with Charlie." Lizzie added with a smile.
"Okay, Lizzie. Thanks for asking." Fawn messed with the bracelets on her wrist, "It means a lot."
The dark-haired woman hugged Fawnie, "Of course, you're my kid now too I suppose."
Fawnie chuckled, "Yea I guess. I've got two mums now, how about that?"
"Three, I'm the one that raised you, Rose."
Her eyes lit up upon hearing her aunt Polly's voice, "Where've you been all day?" She squeezed her aunt's small frame tightly into a hug.
"Around but soon to be in heaven if you don't let me go," Polly said.
"You wouldn't go to heaven, aunt Pol." Fawn replied, pulling away.
Polly glared at her, "You cheeky bastard, just like Tommy, I swear." Lizzie nodded in agreement as she lit a cigarette. "How's little Ruby doing?"
Fawnie took the baby talk as her cue to run away before she got trapped in the conversation. She wanted to find Isiah before he and Jeremiah took off. The birthday gift she found sat unopened in her room and she refused to give it to him any later than it already was.
"Have you seen Isiah?" She asked Arthur who was obviously gone internally, "God you drink too much Arthur, how many fingers am I holding up?" Fawnie held up her middle finger in front of his wobbly figure.
"One you dick," He spat out, clearly pulling on her leg. "He and Finn went for a drive... or wrestle? What do kids do these days anyway?"
Fawnie grumbled under her breath as she walked away from her terribly drunk uncle. She asked anyone she could where Isiah was but no luck. Eventually she ran into Finn–alone, which was weird. He and Isiah were practically joined at the hip.
"Where's your best friend?" Fawnie grabbed the cigarette from his lips and inhaled deeply, feeling annoyed with having lost track of that idiot.
"I think he's blowing up one of the fuckin' bathrooms. He ate those lemon squares."
She cringed, "For fucks sake why would he do that?"
"He's Isiah, why does he do anything–give that back," He snatched back the cigarette, before reaching into his jacket for his pack. "Here,"
Fawnie gladly took the silver case and had a cigarette lit before speaking, "I'm guessing he's in the bathroom off of Tommy's office since it's the closest to the back door," She took a drag from the cigarette, contemplating even risking going near Isiah. "God Tommy's gonna flip," She laughed.
"Oh fuck yea he is, Isiah said he felt so bad that he could barely hold it in."
"Ew, I don't want the details, Finn." She covered her ears dramatically.
Finn shrugged and stubbed out his cigarette, "At least you didn't smell his toxic ass farts."
"Please–" She said, "Wait here," He took his case back and pocketed it. "Could you tell him I've got a birthday present waiting for him upstairs?"
"Yea sure, wanna see the fights we set up?"
A cheeky smile grew on her face, "Is Bonnie fighting?" Finn's silence was an obvious yes, "Fuck yea I do." She knew it was weird to like seeing Bonnie in his element because he was usually letting himself get battered but... it was euphoric seeing how easily he'd gain the upper hand. Bon was so goddamn strong and all.
