a world of glitter and luxury ━ a smaller version of the grand capitol. boulevards made of glass, elegant mansions with lush gardens full of flowers, exquisite food in extravagant shapes and lavish tastes.
children born into a life of luxury ━ healthy babies bathed in milk and honey, lying in cribs with blankets of the softest silk, looking at the diamonds sparkling from the chandeliers.
in a glamorous world of fame and fortune, there are only two ways to be worshipped and admired ━ become a legend by winning the hunger games or marry into a wealthy family.
but not everyone has a place in the spotlight, not everyone has the time to shine.
district one has a history of eating young girls alive ━ marble corpses, begging to be adored, blinded by false promises.
youthful wifes, robbed of their innocence, wedding vows forgotten as soon as they were spoken, wilting away in the halls of empty mansions.
volunteers, marble chess pieces, perfectly poised, waving at the cameras with pretty smiles, ivory hands laced with a mixture of melted gold and dripping blood, falling as quickly as they rose to the spotlight, their names engraved and forgotten on diamond covered gravestones.

DAISY FEATHERWOOD IS FULL OF DREAMS
living in one of the small rural villages of district one, her family is known for their fresh produce as well as their genetically modified flowers, blooming with precious rhinestones.
while most of her classmates at the academy are fighting for their time in the spotlight, daisy has a different dream ━ survive the reaping ceremonies, graduate from the academy, and become a peacekeeper.
believing in selfless acts of courage, daisy is hoping that one day, she could turn the world into a better place ━ establishing peace and justice, a voice for the districts as well as for the capitol.

after graduating from the academy with high honors, daisy gets assigned to the central peacekeeper department in the heart of the capitol.

with a heart full of hope, daisy boards the train to the capitol ━ a futuristic city made of silver, a beautiful metropolis where all citizens live in harmony with one another ━ a perfect place, where anyone can be anything.

after a few days, daisy comes to realize that not everything is as peaceful and perfect as it has been advertised ━ just like in district one, the glitter is fading quickly, and daisy is forced to take off her rose colored glasses, recognizing that everyone is wearing a mask ━ monsters hiding behind the prettiest smiles, mistaking angels for devils, and sinners for saints.
soon, daisy is confronted with the bitter truth that maybe not all citizens live in harmony, and some secrets run deeper than the rest of panem will ever know.

hello, lovelies!! first of all, i want to wish everyone a happy easter!!
now, if you haven't guessed it already, this book is inspired by the disney movie zootopia ━ one of my favourite animated movies because it's so colorful and lovely and holds such special memories for me!!
my main character daisy is an absolute sunshine, always optimistic and cheerful, and determined to follow her dreams. while a lot of people are shipping judy & nick from the original movie, i decided to give daisy a female love interest, whom i created solely for this story ━ it is worth noting that, while poppy has some similarities with dawn bellwether, she's not supposed to be said character, and she's also not the villain of this book.
most characters from this story ( aside from daisy and poppy ) already were part of my hunger games universe and while i tried to fit them into some of the movie scenes and match them with the characters, it's not always accurate.
this book is set in spring ( march ) before the seventy second hunger games. it is part of my war of hearts series and is going to be sweet, funny, and full of spring vibes.
this story is inspired by various sources, such as the disney movies zootopia and tangled, the divergent movies, and the tv show quantico, so parallels can occur. last but not least, english is not my first language, so i don't know if there are any mistakes.
now, i want to wish everybody a happy easter ━ i hope your day is filled with love & peace, and that you have a bunnytastic time with your family and friends!!
