Just like I’d wanted, the church was filled up with people, I think the entire town was inside that church and those that were not inside, stood outside. Derek was my best man and both he and my dad stood beside me. Of course Sally and my brother Luke were present. As the music began and the church doors opened, Amora began her walk towards me with Mrs. Harris walking alongside her. Amora had insisted Mrs. Harris walked her down the aisle. My mouth fell open. Amora was beautiful in the white dress she wore. I swallowed hard. She walked gracefully till she got to my side.
Exchanging or rather renewing our vows before all those people and before God brought such great fulfilment to me. Before God, I promised to love and cherish Amora till the day I died. It was a promise I was happy making, a promise I knew I was going to keep.
Fifty seven years later, I’m sitting in front of Amora’s grave, telling you my story, our story. Fifty seven years of laughter, happiness and a love so true. Fifty seven special years that I wouldn’t trade for all the gold in the world or even for the elixir of immortality if it existed.
I miss Amora. I miss her everyday since she passed and I will visit her graveside everyday till I join her, which I know is very soon.
