Silence prevailed when Pinky slapped Shakthi who didn't dare to look up , her face burned with rage . Shivaay's sight fell on the needle patch affixed on her outer
palm. This is no good for her, he remembered how the doctor had strictly advised to not take stress over anything. It might only weaken her again, he feared and joined to convince her. Well, this time he himself was shock striken with all the stories he just heard but his priority here is his Mom.

P- how dare you!!

S- mom, mom please come with me that's enough. You're already ill.

He held her shoulders from behind and requested, shakthi grew concerned immediately.

Sh- wha what happened to her, is she ok?

Pinky and shivaay just didn't bother to answer rather they just glared hard.

T- what have you done Shakthi?

A furious Tej pulled him against and screamed at his face, while Pinky started crying again. She noticed Mahi through the corner of her eyes who looked equally hurt and broken. Why wouldn't he be? His whole life was a lie all these years. He was literally betrayed by his own father.

Shivaay didn't want to wait for more drama happening, he caught hold of his mother's hand and dragged her out of that place. While Tej on the other side was giving a nice hearful to shakthi.

T- I never realized you were so heartless, itni naive thei tum... How can you...!

He blamed with much of disgust in his face. Roop interrupted him soon.

Roop- please don't blame him. Situations aise thei .

T- I'm speaking to my brother, not you.

Roop remained quiet after that, what scared her more was Mahi's silence. The way he stood rooted to the floor like a statue . She took small steps towards him and tried holding his wrist for he immediately jolted back and showed his deniel.

Ro- Ma mahi, listen to me, beta

M- stop! Just stop mo

He didn't complete it after realizing the fact. Roop was so afraid right then.

Pinky was still in a crying mess while shivaay made her sit, and knelt before. He quickly cupped her face and started wiping those wet tears. This is the worst punishment any child can get, watching their parents cry and break like this is really unberable and shivaay here felt dejected.

He gulped in a several times to swallow the huge lump in his throat, painful it was, to see his ever so chirpy mother like this. And pinky on the other side was extemely vulnerable right now, well, recent revelations have just shook her inner core to an extent where she could hardly withold. Shivaay shook her a bit to make her face him.

S- mein hoon na? Mo mom look at me! It's gonna be ok, so please

He interrupted her immediately and emphasised holding her face within his palm.

S- shh! I don't give a damn to any of this. Because whatever it is,all I care about is you . So please don't cry, just trust me.

Pinky was still crying, she just grabbed him close and cried pressing her head on his shoulder. He bit his lower lip and maintained a tough face throughout while consoling her with comforting words.

M- are you not ashamed, after doing something like this?

Shakthi flinched when Mahi roared in anger. He then tried to speak his part with much of difficulties.

Sh - I wanted to help your mother.

This intimidated him again.

M- all of this is already unbearable, so stop. My whole life was a lie, you know what ,I shouldn't have just come here. Atleast I'd have escaped from this brutal truth you just threw on me.

Ro- Mahi I know you're upset,but you can't talk to him like that!

He showed his palm against her face in no time and she stopped saying anything.

M- be glad I'm even talking. You both can never imagine what I'm going through right now.

M- oh please!

Ro- ma... Mahi

He passed an indifferent look and walked away from there just to be followed by Roop behind. Shakthi bent down his head and wiped those years quickly before anyone could notice but annika who just came in there did see his suffer. She gulped a several times before briging up her words.

A- I'm sorry uncle, I caused all the confusion out there.

He was taken aback.

Sh- it was meant to happen . I did wrong, I deserve all this. But I never wanted to hurt anyone you know

A- you thought your parent's ignorance towards your sister's family was unjust. You were guilty, and after seeing her condition, you took the tough decision wanting to help her.

For a moment shakthi was totally surprised and remained tongue tied. She was speaking his mind, certainly.

Sh- you... you support me?

A- no.

She replied at once, and he kept staring keenly.

A- you did a big mistake. Mistake which cannot be forgiven . But you've lost something too, it takes a heavy heart to do what you did,not everyone can do that. All these days in this house I never realized you , you were... this. Uncle all I'm trying to say is , it'll be ok. Don't loose hope.

She blinked once in assurance and moved from there while he was lost in his own thoughts. Not a big conversation but he somewhere felt relieved. It never is about finding solutions to problems rather just believing there is one somewhere.

It took him a whole lot of time , putting her to sleep. And when she finally slept , he just sat there and watched. His rage rose up when he noticed the little frame which carried his picture with his parents , kept on the side table. He almost banged it against the floor but stopped fearing it might disturb her. Pulling the duvet over her, he stepped away to leave but halted right there and sat back to caress her hair a few times. He behaved like a child in those few seconds, not ready to leave his mother soon.

Well at the end of the day that's what he is, mumma's boy.

Annika was shocked to see all the broken things scattered on the floor when she came back from the restroom. Such a mess it was and then there was him, seated on the bed, holding his head. She started cleaning the mess quielty , without uttering a word. Shivaay did realize and zoned back in here on hearing the noise those glass pieces made while being handled. He saw her doing things alone and crushed his eyes once before joining her.Neither she spoke nor he did for the first few seconds. They just carried on with it until he found something.

S- who's is this?

He asked holding a broken spex in hand . She brought her eyes up till him slowly, and within soon she concentrated back on work. And suddenly it struck him for his eyes widened big . He grabbed her hands and held them within his ,tightly. She was still not looking at him , he had to stress his hold to gain her attention.

A- shivaay let's clean this first.

He didn't approve when she tried pulling her hands back, Annika sat down on the floor, letting out a huge sigh.

A- infection ke bad, I had s some difficulties tho uhh... but no worries actually I'm taking treatment and it'll take some time until then they

She stopped saying anything and looked at him on feeling his grip loosening out. He was found staring at the floor.

S- I used to think I'm capable of looking after everyone, but today I realized how wrong I was. Mom's heartbroken and I could do nothing, and here I've got zero knowledge of all your suffers.

It was followed by a weak chuckle, a quick tear drop escpaped his eye to land on her hand. She couldn't wait after that , she hurried to scoot near him and grabbed his collars so that their foreheads meet.

A- in the toughest of the days you decided to marry me, in the toughest of the days you decided to resign and start your own thing, in the toughest of the days you decided to calmly wait for me instead of getting angry. You still don't realize how beautiful and strong you are in and out do you.Ain't that what princes do? Decide? Hold things together? You're not a magic man , if not today you would do good tomorrow.

He chuckled shaking his head when she completed .

S- oh god ani , tum na

A- hmm?

She looked plainly naive that second, questioning him with her small eyes. Shivaay shook his head once and immediately cupped her face planting a few soothing kisses on both her eyes one by one.

S- take me to the doctor you've been consulting.

A- hmm thoda sa convince kiya aur lo, here comes the nagging prince already.

She commented while wiping his face simultaneously. Shivaay rose his brows and glared.

S- shouldn't I know?

A- don't worry, dik raha hai muje sab. The ever so handsome face of yours , pretty blue eyes and these tempting lips. Everything is clearly visible.

She narrated it with full passion while he just looked at her quietly throughout before leaping to find solace in her embrace. She almost fell sideways when he jumped on her , the wall supported her to settle and have him comforted with her.

S- what do I do without you?

A- doondthi muje.

He held onto her so tight while she let him do that and kept ruffling his hair with her fingers continuously. Their chests moved front and back in perfect sync, pressed together. They stayed in the same position for some more time, and it was Annika who broke the silence first.

A- I'm sorry shivaay.

He watched her with a straight frown.

A- maybe you'd have done things differently if I had told the truth to you first. But vo kya haina, we had already suffered big when I hid things from charu the previous time. And I thought, aunty should

S- ok shh

He quickly stopped her by pressing his finger on her lips. Shivaay clearly realized why she would have done that, she had already endured enough pain in this.

S- this would've come out anyways, I just hope mom teek ho. She, she's very sensitive you know

Annika was scared seeing his hand shiver suddenly when he was talking about Pinky. He didn't pay heed to it though, she grabbed his hand and caught hold of it tightly. This is not good , he can't get affected like this. Something must be done soon,she was worried.

It was already 7 in the morning when her mobile ringtone went on suddenly. She pulled his arm off her stomach and crawled towards the side table to pick up the call.

A- kaun hai?

E- wow!!! I've been with you since the days we wore pinafores at school , after all these years kya savaal poocha tumne. I'm so happy.

A- Eli? Kya huwa, why do you sound like a man?

E- throat infection .

A- well if you get any chance for dubbing, don't deny ok . I'm sure many heroes would definitely demand such a manly voice.

E- very funny

A- shut now and ye bolo ki baby kaisi hai?

E- haan vo tho teek hi hoga na kick maar maarkar muje thang karthe rehtha hai.

Annika chuckled aloud when she complained.

E- now listen, meet me at the Breeze restaurant ok . 9 o clock

A- got anything for me?

E- nahi

A- then no.

E- Annika dog! Kill you if you don't appear.

Annika rubbed her eyes hardly and remained confused.

A- why so serious? Planning to divorce Zahir already?

E- haww!! Are you even real? Let me pour some acid in your mouth, come come.

A- it better be something sweet.

She hung up for the phone slid down and fell on the bed in no time. Annika hardly bothered of it and just sccoted close and hugged him again . Last night was very long for both. He had sleeping trouble and she was awake all night cuddling and comforting him until he found some sleep finally.

Lying on his chest, she kept caressing his hair softly. A small smile covered her lips on seeing him sleeping like a kid, all naive and innocent.

A- sab teek hoga, I promise.

She whispered.

A- celesty...you mean your sister celestina?

E -yeah she came back from Delhi recently and she's been stubborn , wanting to meet you since then.

A- cool,sounds like I've got a fan finally. I remember her, cute one.

E - cute? My foot!

A- seriously why are you elder sisters so jealous of us everytime?

Elizabeth just rolled her eyes lazily when she complained.

E - here she comes... wait, who's that?

Annika saw Elizabeth's weird reaction and turned back to check. Shocked ,she was, on seeing the person who came with celesty.

Celestina- Hi Annika didi!!! Baby, I told you right, she's the one.

Shock again from this side too, he stopped halfway after seeing Annika for Celesty had to come back to get him till their table.

E- why is shivaay with her?

Annika just kept staring at the two without answering her.

C- Hi didi!

She was still staring at the person standing next to Celesty and almost forgot to greet her. Only when she called her name again, Annika zoned back in.

A- hey hi Celesty. How are you?

C - great didi , aap?

A- hmm yeah fine.

C - didi ye... Betty I told you right ,he's bab I mean this is Mahi, my boyfriend. And baby ye Betty my sister and she's Annika , Betty's best friend.

Mahi was getting sick now, in this entire universe with so many sapiens, and yet here he is put back to stand in this kind of situation. He rubbed his fingers over his forehead in tension. Annika's reaction was no different too. Her world was already a mini one and now, the shrinking never stops .

E - what the hell is happening shivaay!!

C- shi...what ? Are you deaf betty? He's Mahi

E- what's happening here Annika, what's she saying?

Annika just remained quiet, without saying a word rather all she did was staring straight at Mahi demanding him to take on. She didn't want to be of any support for him. He glared at her knowing she was being deliberate.

C - kya huwa... haan baby? Have you met betty before? Why didn't you tell

E - God ,celesty!! How can he be your boyfriend when he's already annika's hus

M- ok that's enough!

He shouted, interrupting her.

M - I'm not her ... I mean me and shi shivaay , we're twins. And she is shivaay's wife.

Elizabeth and Celesty , both were confused. Only when Annika passed a nod, they realized.

C - why didn't you tell me you had a twin brother? Means, Annika di is your bhabi? Wow the makes it more easy for us!! Didi I'm really surprised, I was actually gonna ask your help. Because only you were able to convince my parents to approve zahir jiju. It was an impossible task and yet you did it somehow. Only you can help us didi.

E - please slow down, my head is spinning already.

Annika immediately fetched some water and passed it to Elizabeth who was completely clueless and confused.

M- don't waste your time,she's never gonna help us celene.

He spoke holding his deep stare at Annika who had a fine smirk on her face throughout ,cooking up something in her mind.

C- baby wait, I know her. She's very kind.

A- I want to talk to him alone.

M- not necessary.

C - Mahi...! You love me right, then what's this hesitation?

He felt helpless when she had tears ready in her eyes. He agreed and went with Annika. Here Elizabeth seemed much angry.

E- you don't even know about his family?he's not even ready to take a step, and you... When will you grow up dumb!

C- I'm sorry Betty,he's really serious about me but lately I don't know he he's kind of upset with something. I'll sort it out, you don't create a fuss now.

E- celesty this doesn't seem right to me , I can't support you blindly. I should check with annika and shivaay first.

C- he's very nice , trust me

E - stop acting like a child, I know what to do.

Celesty's face fell weak when Elizabeth reacted like that.

A- I wasn't expecting this.

M- neither was I.

A- so... You want me to help?

Mahi showed his faint smile as soon as she asked.

M- she thinks this is impossible without you. And celene for me is very ,very important.

A- I'll help... with one condition though.

He was intimidated when she completed.

A- you have to withdraw the case you've filed at the court, for that ancestral property.

Mahi was taken aback on hearing her demand, she surely is something. A faint chuckle escaped his lips as soon as he saw her smirk.

M- you so love him don't you?

A- will you or shall I tell celesty that money and land is more important to you than her.

M- stop your dirty plays. She won't believe you anyways.

A- ain't that the truth if you deny my deal, Is that land more dear to you than celesty?

Mahi was annoyed by the way she was trying to manipulate him.

M- I can convince her parents myself. No need for your help.

A- oh is that it? Maybe you could have ,if we were not related. But if they come to know that you're shivaay's brother which they will after seeing you, who do you think they will contact first? Me obviously. They trust me and shivaay, so... green or red, unfortunate for you I've got the final flags with me.

He watched her in disgust while she recited facts.

M- I didn't know you were this evil, so selfish.

A- if you're so selfless why don't you let go of that property? Or is celesty

M - enough! I'll talk to my lawyer about it.

Annika smiled when he declared.

E - I told you and that's final.

C- Betty you're being too

She stopped noticing the two coming back .

C - everything ok?

Annika let a nod.

A- why fear when Annika's here?

C- means... means ...you...! Thank you so much didi!!

She exclaimed hugging Annika once and then she expressed her atmost joy to Mahi who reciprocted with a genuine smile . He passed alternative glares at Annika though.Elizabeth felt odd , she tugged annika's wrist and whispered.

E- you better explain everything first. Who is he?

A- give me some time .

Annika knew life was always full of surprises , meeting her prince was one best surprise and life after that has been a beautiful gift. But today she just didn't know how to label this, how to take this, positive or not. Of course celesty is like her sister, so she would wish nothing but what's good for her. But in this case, she herself was unaware because mahi is a new part to the family. She should be very careful and not hasty, she told herself . All her thoughts were interrupted when he heard his voice.

S- yeah arrange for a scrum call ASAP . I want all the engineers on line, we deliver as we talked. The paper works are done already, so that shouldn't be a problem and... 1 second

He put the call on hold and marched upto her quickly when he saw her inside the room. Annika stared questioningly while he fetched something from his pocket and lent it for her. She smiled at him noticing the new spex case he held. Denying to pass, he himself took the glasses and helped her with it while she stood there holding his shirt, the part over his abdomen with both her hands, eyes admiring him.

After fixing it properly ,he rose his brows asking if it was good for she nodded slowly looking just into his eyes. He frowned when she did that and dragged her towards the mirror, insisting her to take a look first.She took some time for his sake and then again approved with a nod, showing thumbs up, he grinned hugging her from behind.

Both just stood there and kept staring at their images quietly. She pressed her head back on the upper part of his chest while he loosened up to provide space under his neck. A plain moment with no words, they didn't need words actually. Together, holding onto one another, this, this itself meant everything to them.

A few more minutes later she turned back and asked.

A- how's aunty?

S- hmm , fed her some food. She sleeping , hasn't talked to Dad yet.... And ani you know what, I was going to meet the lawyer but he himself called me. He said the case was withdrawn, problem solved.

A- really!!

S- hmmm I don't why he did that, maybe he was confused after everything... I don't know but I'm just so relieved. Atleast something good if not all , right?

She nodded quickly with a wide grin, and he excused before resuming the call.

S- hello? Yes I've sent you all details, prepare the agenda and...

Annika here didn't move from him rather she just hugged him, pressing her head on his chest. He was already reciprocating, like a reflex gesture, still engrossed in his call though. Leaning on his chest, she let her fingers grace over his fine stubble slowly as if she was feeling him inch by inch.

His happiness, his smile is everything.

If being evil can make something this beautiful, she would rather be evil throughout her life.
