Secrets within the Walls
Lisa stared at the wall in front of her blankly, trying to process the gravity of the events earlier which had happened so swiftly that they felt unreal. She needed time to sort out her jumbled up thoughts, especially the events of last night.
Flashback:
"Looks can be deceiving right?"
Lisa took a few steps back from Taehyung.
He laughed at her sudden reaction.
"W-why do you want me to get hurt?" she stammered.
Taehyung didn't answer and continued looking out the window.
She now knew how he was. In order to make him talk you had to ask him something, rather.. . interesting.
Something of his interest.
He would answer only if you asked the right questions.
"Why did Seokjin out of all other people, choose me as his victim?" she asked, trying her luck.
"You remind him of a victim from many years ago," he answered simply and it was clear in the tone of his voice that he had no intentions of explaining his point.
"What victim?"
He ignored this as well.
Suddenly, Lisa came across an idea.
"He was in love before wasn't he?"she guessed.
"And the girl.. . was she a victim too? Does he.. . miss her?"
Lisa waited for a reply but when there was none she decided to speak.
"How do you know all this about him Taehyung?"
"I'm not supposed to, but I do. Those are the parts of his life he never shared with any of us but I know."
"You mean you know his secrets?"
Taehyung looked at her for a second before answering.
No. Not secrets," he said.
"They're more of uh.. . broken memories."
End of Flashback
She tried to think of how he could have been if the girl had still been with him, whoever or wherever she was.
Did those memories still haunt him?
Flashback:
"Your heartbeat you know.. . is so damn funny.. ."
Her fingers froze midway caressing his hair.
Jin held her chin in between his fingers, not rough this time.
He tilted her head in to face to come in level with his own, gently caressing her left cheek with his thumb. Lisa tried to lower her gaze but he resisted.
"No dont. Let me see."
She met his gaze once again. He seemed somewhat lost in the blue of her eyes.
"Go," he said quietly as he let go of her chin.
"Leave."
End of Flashback
There were too many secrets buried within the walls of the dark castle. Maybe if she figured them out she could finally escape.
If only there was a clue left by the victim, a sign to remember her by, a hint that Lisa could follow.
She decided to look around the castle. She hoped Jin would not be angered by her wandering around. She quietly sneaked out of the room and into the dark hallway.
She wandered through the lonely halls, for once thankful that it was empty.
Suddenly a voice spoke behind her.
"You should not be wandering around the house like this Lisa. Master Kim would not approve it."
Lisa turned to look at the maid. The silver of her hair and her wrinkled face voicing her age.
"Can you help me out? Please?"
"I'm afraid I cannot," the maid answered simply.
"And you better get back in your room before Master Kim finds you sneaking around. He would not take it lightly."
Lisa's gaze lowered in disappointment but she paused for a second before walking back to her room.
"May I ask you something?" Lisa asked.
The lady nodded.
"How long have you been in here?"
A small smile formed on the old lady's lips, perhaps because of the memories.
"I've been with Master Kim even before he took his first steps," she said.
"Can you tell me what happened to the girl he was in love with? Please I need to know."
The old lady looked at Lisa as though she had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. When she finally spoke, she spoke without hesitation.
"Master Kim has never been in love."
