A special little way
"Don't come closer Jin or I swear-"
His head started to spin. The look in her eyes was all the proof required to know that she wasn't lying. That she would, infact do it.
"Lisa stop. Doing this won't do you any good. Listen to me."
"Jin, I'm sorry to disobey," she said in a voice so dead it caused a strange sensation throughout his body. She pressed the dagger closer to her throat and little beads of blood squeezed out her cuts as she did so.
Jin's heart ached. He couldn't let this happen. He wouldn't.
He took a sudden stride surprising her and snatched the dagger from her hands, throwing it away before she could hurt herself further. He caught Lisa's falling body before it could hit the ground and hugged her close, covering her with his coat. His embrace was gentle yet strong. She couldn't move out of his embrace. Couldn't move at all.
"G-get away from me. Stop-Jin. Why did you do that? Y-you don't understand. I had to-"
Jin hugged her closer, he was now drenched in water due to her wet body. Lisa tried to push him away but his grip on her never loosened, his chin now rested on her head. He smoothed out her hair length as she cried in his neck, her tears soaking his shirt collar.
"Lisa .. . you can't do that. You understand? You can't just kill yourself like this its-its-"
"It's because death is mercy," she cried harder, her hands clutching him shirt tightly.
"No Lisa its- what's wrong?" he sighed.
"Everything is wrong Jin."
"Tell me."
Lisa inhaled sharply before she spoke further. When she did her voice was a mix of whispers and sobs. "I-I.. . Sehun is d-dead. And it's because of me. I killed him. It's my f-fault. And even if he was alive even then he would get hurt.. ."
Jin rubbed her back in circles.
"Hurt him how?"
"I-I .. . he wanted us to be in a relationship and I only agreed because I found no reason not to. I thought it was love but it wasn't. He- he always lived me but I- what I had wasn't love. Only I thought it was," she choked on her tears.
"I don't even know what live feels like," she sobbed harder.
"Me neither."
Lisa started at him, her watery blue eyes met his stationery silver ones.
"J-Jin.. . did you, perhaps, lose someone? D-do you know what it feels like when someone dies and you can't save them?"
"I'm a killer Lisa."
"You know what I mean," she said.
"Had it not been for you Jin we wouldn't have died like this."
A tear rolled down his cheek. "I.. . I know what it feels like. But in your case it wasn't your fault Lisa. Who were you to deny-"
".. .deny the promptings of fate," she completed.
They stared at eachother. Lisa smiled and Jin found his own lips stretching into a smile.
"It's always wierd putting events in words right?" she smiled
"Yes it always is," he said. "Lets get you out of here."
He helped her put her clothes on and took her in his room.
"Sit," he said, pointing towards his bed.
Lisa sat next to him. Jin tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Don't go playing with daggers again," he said.
Lisa broke into a smile. How easily he made her smile, she thought.
He had his own little way of comforting her. A special little way.
"I'll try not to."
"Trust me I'll make sure you don't."
"You stopped me from killing myself Jin. And I know its not so you could kill me yourself. That makes you human."
"I'm a bit too different to be a human though dont you think?"
