2 | PROLOGUE
Varis was a planet of beautiful and lush forests of various kinds. From rainforests to deciduous forests, there was plenty of trees to create a forest for every planet in existence. It was a refreshing, peaceful planet. One where all it's citizens could live without worries. It was a neutral planet, one where no conflict ever occurred. So any outlying conflicts in the universe would never interfere with the planet.
The queen of this very planet was Queen Maranarah. A prestigious queen of a long hierarchical royal bloodline that stretched back for thousands of centuries. She was a lonely woman. An arrogant one, too. No one was typically pleased to be around her, yet everyone respected her because she obeyed the natural laws of Varis.
That was... until she met a foreigner. She had slept with an outsider, and even had gotten herself pregnant by the stranger before she realized it was too late. It was only a one night stand, she thought it'd be harmless. Yet, there she was... pregnant. With a girl. "I couldn't help myself." Maranarah spoke quietly to herself, for no one could know she was pregnant.
She genuinely couldn't help herself. He was the only person she had ever smiled with. He was kind, funny and he had such alluring brown eyes. He had a force that pulled her into him, almost as if the force was a physical one. All she ever saw on Varis was orangey-blonde hair and green or blue eyes. It was tiring to see. Yet, she should've known better. Because now, she was pregnant.
And the baby would have to be labeled as a bastard. And the civilians of the planet would lose all respect for the queen, which was the only way she managed to rule peacefully. And she'd lose her clean reputation of obeying the natural laws.
Therefore, she decided to hide her pregnancy all the way until the child was born. And when she was born, she took a quick trip to the nearest junkyard— Lotho Minor— and dropped the newborn off. She assumed the child wouldn't live longer than a week without someone to care for her; so, Maranarah thought she was safe from her bastard child from ever coming back to haunt her.
Nevertheless, this is a story. A story about that little girl and what she'd grow to be. Who'd she grow to love. And what changes she'd make to the world. So, of course, Queen Maranarah was wrong about her assumption. She was very wrong.
