Beautiful,small eyes fluttered open,
Tears had slipped out, wailing was in the air.

Promise of love and protection,
Were whispered in her small ears.

She was loved,
She was taken care of.

She grew up with wings on her back,
She was promised the sky was hers.

She had eyes full of dreams,
She was told the spotlight was hers to shine.

The promise of love and protection were being fulfilled,
Her lips always stretched in a smile, happiness shone in her eyes.

How naïve she was for she didn't know,
Peace came before the storm.

The same people who taught her to see dreams,
Asked her to close her eyes.

Those who she thought would protect her,
Turned their backs.

The gleam of wisdom in their eyes,
Turned into malice.

Her wings of freedom were torn apart, feather by feather,
When she became of age.

She was thrown into a new world,
