As tears rolled down my cheek, I wondered; who the hell is doing all this for me? why? It's signed by the same ":)" meaning this has to be the same person that wrote the note for me the other day... I scrambled through my diary looking for the little chit that was tucked inside it. My tears stamped the note, leaving a mark and slightly fading the smiley face sign. I compared the hand-written note to the one that was messaged to me: The same poetic, comforting type of writing, this must be the same damn person.

I was blankly sitting on the edge of my bed, one hand gripping my phone with the message and the other hand holding the little note as I cried. I don't know why I was crying or what emotions were being connected with the result of tears but here I am, crying... AGAIN. As I tried to console myself, I felt my phone beeping in my hand, "Incoming Call from: Chocolate Labrador" Oh fuck no what does he want?

Neil: Hey... Avni?
Avni: Yeah it's me, hi.
Neil: Hi! How are you? Just wanted to ask if you're free anytime today if you wanted to start the project?
Avni: I'm okay thanks, and sure i'm free today, where shall we do it?
Neil: If you're okay with it, would you like to come to mine? Just because I'm not too far and I have quite a big space to work.
Avni: um... okay fine. What's your address again?
Neil: 22 Laal Road (authors note: LMFAOO)
Avni: Okay that's not too far, i'll see you in an hour?
Neil: That's cool, see you then!

NEIL'S POV:

As I put the phone down, I acknowledged a different tone in her voice, as though she was holding back tears. You know when you're trying not to show people that you're about to cry so you put on a more pyaari sounding voice in hopes no one notices anything? That sort. Perhaps it could be from the message I sent... Anyway, I'll see her later, i'll observe her more then. In these 13 days that we have, i'll help her. I'll win her trust and i'll make sure she knows that she doesn't have to go through anything alone.

"Miss Avni Ayesha, Case Number 022... time to start." I smiled to myself.
