The Alpha and Luna quickly said a goodbye before fleeing the room. The rest started to follow, with a polite wave from Roger, a smile from Luke, and Jefferson giving a nod to Marley.

All that was left in the room was Marley, Layla, and Gabby.

"Is there still wolfsbane inside of you? Is that why you're wolf is weak?" Layla whispered, hugging her mate behind. Large drops of tears rolling down her cheeks before landing on Marley's shoulders. Her wolf was howling in pain and misery as they heard what Marley went through. Anger started to burn inside of her, and she swore to the Moon Goddess that she would kill everyone who ever hurt her mate.

Marley shrugged, but body relaxed into Layla's. She sighed, "I assume so, but I'm not feeling a burning sensation of my wolf being ripped away from me."

Gabby rubbed her chin, "Maybe that's because of Layla. The mate bond must be playing some effect to the wolfsbane. It's like how the presence of mates can help heal wounds faster."

"I guess that helps us," Layla mumbled, "but not everyone have found their mates."

"Hopefully," Gabby started, "with multiple packs coming together, more wolves will find their mates."

Marley looked at Gabby, "Have you found your mate, Gabby?" She started to stutter, "If you don't mind me asking."

Gabby did a mixture between a smile and a frown, "It's alright. No, I haven't meet him, yet, but I hope to run into him soon."

"Well, I hope you do," Marley comment, wearing a grin as she turned to snuggle deeper into Layla. "You deserve to be happy."

Layla nodded her head, agreeing with her mate. When her world started to crumble, Gabby was there to help her pick up her pieces. Gabby became a friend to her, and Layla couldn't be more grateful.

Gabby smiled, rolling her eyes, "Thanks." She laughed softly before clearing her throat, "Anyways, it's up to Layla, but seems you are healthy enough— assuming the wolfsbane isn't going to suddenly come back— to leave."

Marley nodded her head, "It won't."

"Well," Layla started, "I think you're ready to come home."

Gabby snorted, "Is this from a mate's perspective or a doctor's?"

Gapping, Layla narrowed her eyes, "You literally just said she was healthy enough."

Gabby started to snicker, shaking her head as she joked with her friend. Marley covered her mouth as she giggled, enjoying the friendship between Gabby and Layla. Layla kept up her fake glare, but the ends of her lips started to twitch as time went on.

"I'll get your paper work done," Gabby bursted out in her laugher, leaving the room as she waved a hand over her head. Layla was quickly said a thank you before kissing Marley's cheek and guiding her mate from the room she was staying in.

Layla lead Marley to the front of the pack hospital, unaware of some of the glares she was getting from her pack members. It seems that Jasmine's idea of Marley really struck a cord with them. The idea of a she-wolf caused some pack members to become defensive of their protection inside the pack as the number of rogues at the borders started to rise.

Marley's wolf started to buzz in her head, highly disliking the looks she was receiving. She pushed her thoughts aside, pressing against Layla as they left the building. The pack grounds were beautiful, and Marley suddenly missed the way her pack lands were before the rogues attacked. She missed being home with her family, but the place that once was her life was destroyed to the point her memories now circle around pain of herself and the ones she loved. It wasn't something she wanted to think about.

Layla pulled some keys out of her pocket, luckily enough that Gabby allowed her to borrow her car. She nudged Marley towards the car, unlocking it with a click of a button. Marley gripped the handle, opening the door before setting into the car very carefully.

The Doctor laughed, "Have you never been in a car before, Marley?"

Marley shook her head, "We didn't really have technology like you do, but we have heard of it before."

"Oh," Layla quickly stopped laughing, and she leaned over Marley to buckle her up. When she glanced up at her mate, their noses brushed together. Marley gasped as she felt the small shocks she should had been feeling all along, and Layla watched her mate's eyes widen at the new found force of the mate bond. "First thing you should do when you get in a car is put your seatbelt on," Layla muttered before pulling away.

She closed the door before rounding towards the front of the car to get into the drivers seat. She didn't glance towards Marley, wanting to hold herself back. Even though Marley could leave the Pack Hospital, it doesn't mean she was ready.

"Where are we going?"

Layla was surprised at how fast Marley could control her wolf, but she put it off since the wolfsbane was still inside Marley's blood stream.

The Doctor smiled, "A small cabin I live in."

"You live in a cabin?" Marley asked, her eyes hungrily taking in her mate. Her wolf grew stronger, trying to break free and express her feeling towards her other half.

Layla laughed, "Yes, but depending on how the rogue situation goes we might temporally move in with Gabby or my parents." She quickly pulled out of the parking lot, driving carefully towards her home. "My cabin is pretty close the woods," she chuckled awkwardly, knowing the reason she made that choice was because of Denice. She cringed, hating the place she lived reminded her of her Luna like that.

She really did love Denice, and there will always be a small, hidden place in her heart for her, but Marley is her entire world.

It took only a half an hour to reach her house, and she quickly got. Before Marley could process anything, Layla was opening the passenger door. The Doctor wasn't no time in unbuckle her mate, and carried her bridal style towards the cabin.

I know that in the old version I had something special for you guys, but if I'm being completely honest with you guys, it was super, super, super awkward to write. I didn't feel comfortable with writing it, and I hope you understand and respect my decision— even if you don't like it.

Also, I noticed when I'm writing I get confused of when to use effect and affect. I did learn which one to use in high school, but who remembers that. If you have a trick or a phrase to help remember it, you should comment it, so I won't look like an idiot when I think I used the wrong one.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my story, and I hope you have a wonderful week.
