Moonwatcher's PoV

The next day, everyone was buzzing about the the end of the semester, and, more importantly, the three week break. Everybody was asking everybody and wondering if they going home or visiting with friends? Did they want to go to the rainforest with them and see if the rumors of flying squirrels and purple toads were true?

"Now, now" Webs said crossly "Of you keep on with your INSUFFERABLE blabbering I will not hesitate to talk to Clay about-!"

"Oh please, we all know Clay is dying for the break, so he can eat fruit all day with the RainWings." ShimmerIce, an IceWing, interrupted nastily.

Moon, who was just sitting down, stumbled, an immense pain between her eyes.

"Ummm, Moon? What wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost." Jet, one of the other NightWings at JMA asked, "Is Web's empty threat that scary to you?"

Moon barely heard her. This is worse than this morning! She slid down, clutching at a chair.

Moonwatcher, Darkstalker said in her head, I've been holding it back for too long. It needs to come out, you might die if it doesn't...Moon...Darkstalker said, his voice regretful,

I'm sorry.

Moon fell to the floor, gasping. She shot a terrified glance at Turtle, who was white in the face. No. Moon thought dazedly, This...this can't be happening...

Words danced off her tongue, foreign and strange, but as familiar as if she recited them for moons:

An Evil is coming to freeze the hearts,

That bear the Key to sickness's marks.

Storm shall rage and winters howl,

The Sun and the Moon shall rise to fight sicknesses battle.

The Lark and the Raven shall fly away,

Never to see the light of day,

The Sands shall weep for the kinkajou,

Who will be forced into a life wished never knew.

Find the Flower that You must eat,

And find the Moons for Peril's defeat.

"Moon," a voice said "Do you have something to tell us?"
