"Ready for the exams?" I ask Luna as she scrubs in for her ex step father wife's surgery. She's coming in since she is having complications after her outpatient surgery for the hiccups she's been having "I mean since your scrubbing in on a surgery"

"Perfectly ready" I undo her mask to kiss her before putting her mask back on, I watch her go into surgery like she owns the place. God I love that, how Luna just walks into places with such confidence.

She didn't want Meredith coming in and doing anything, I go up to the gallery to watch her since Meredith is with her father in the waiting area trying to comfort him. But I don't think it will help since there's that one percent that don't make it, I think this Susan is that one percent. I think Luna also knows this so it's why she doesn't want Meredith to be here, so that if this Susan does die then Meredith's father would blame Luna.

For the next hour those in the gallery with me watch as Luna tries to help Bailey and Webber save Susan but nothing happens. Luna I watch since only I can see it, but she tries to use her power to manipulate lightning to shock Susan's heart as discreetly as she can. But after a few minutes, Luna stops to say "Time of death...10:49 pm"

I leave the gallery to go to Luna, she doesn't talk about it. Her mom, ever since she died she hasn't spoken about her mom. When I find Luna, I see her letting out some tears "I couldn't save her"

"You did everything you could" pulling her into my embrace.

"She was more of a mother to Meredith than our own mother" from what I understand, Susan tried to be apart of both girls lives. Get Thatcher too since Luna was his daughter for a short time before her mom left him "mom's in hell" that's why she won't talk about it, if it was my own mom I'd not talk about it. Knowing that mom is currently in hell being tortured.

"I'm so sorry Luna" rubbing her back

"I need to tell Meredith and her father" Luna pulls away wiping her tears "it would be better coming from me" I am beside Luna as she, Webber and Bailey go to where Thatcher Grey is. I let go of Luna's hand to watch as she tells them "I'm so sorry...we did everything we could"

Meredith has tears in her eyes as does her father "You...you said it was a simple...simple procedure"

"For most" Luna nods her head "there was always that...one percent"

Shaking his head "She isn't gone" denial, I watch carefully what would happen.

"I'm sorry" Meredith offers letting some tears go and we watch as Thatcher slaps Meredith hard causing her to stumble.

"Meredith!" I go to her side along with Luna, Luna gets up to look at Thatcher in anger "Go home, now"

Thatcher looks at Luna in anger "Don't tell me what to do"

"I better not see you near Meredith or me again" Luna says, she goes to Meredith who has a red handprint on her face. But Meredith runs away "Mere"

Webber, Bailey and Derek who were here saw what happened and are shocked. Luna runs after her sister while I glare at the father who crumbles to the floor, shaking my head I walk away as Derek thinks about going to Meredith "Don't" I warn him.

"John" he says

"She's not in the state to see anyone" I say lowly "Meredith will do something she will regret if you go to her right now-don't cause anymore trouble for her" if Derek went to her the two would fuck and Meredith's feelings would be all complicated "you can see her later but not now"

~Luna's POV~

"Meredith" I hold her as she cries in the intern locker room, she doesn't want to see anyone so she won't but I think she should know since there won't ever be a good time "there is no good way to say this"

She looks at me frowning "What?"

"Mom had Richard Webber's daughter years ago" Meredith stares at me processing what I said "you should also know that she contacted me and she's coming out here to Seattle to visit to meet us"

"Does the Chief know?" She asks "when did you find out? Why are you telling me now?"

"Mom made me promise not to tell you or the chief until after she died" calmly saying "and the chief doesn't know"

"Mom had another kid?" She asks

"If it makes you feel better" cause I know her "mom's in hell"

Meredith forms a smile "It does make me feel better...so back to this sister" shaking her head "when did you find out?"

"A few years ago" I explain to her how I found out through mom's diary or one of them "I wanted to talk to mom first about this before anything but I didn't know about the Alzheimer's-I talked to her Mere and I know you'll love her, I already do"

"You need to tell the chief" she says before asking "when is she coming out here?"

"In a few weeks" yeah, turns out my PI forgot to mention how our sister isn't an intern but a surgical resident about to graduate to being a cardiologist. One of the youngest in this era "she is taking her boards soon"

"Boards?" She asks "you mean she's"

"Even though she's younger than us" nodding my head "she's becoming a cardiologist"

"Wow" Meredith looks off into space "being surgeons is in our blood"

Letting out a laugh "Yup" standing up "I'm going to tell the chief now, are you okay here?" She nods her head.

It'll take time for Meredith I'm sure for her to accept Maggie but I'm sure in time she'll accept and learn to love Maggie like me. I haven't met her but from what I know about Maggie from that one phone call I have this sister connection to her that I only ever feel with Meredith.

The Chief and Bailey look my way "How's Meredith?" The Chief asks

"We need to talk" I tell him "in private"

He frowns confused but nods his head, we go into his office where I motion to sit down "What's going on?" He asks crossing his arms not sitting down.

"You'll want to sit down" I suggest, he does after a moment "when mom took Meredith and me to Boston, we were too young at the time to know this but mom was pregnant and gave the baby up for adoption. A few years ago I found out and wanted to talk to mom before saying anything"

"I don't understand" shaking his head "why"

"She had your daughter" I cut him off, the Chief stares at me "I talked to mom when she was lucid and she said that life for Maggie-that's her name, Maggie-well, life for Maggie would be hard since you know mom...she made me promise to tell you and Meredith after her death. I'm sorry you and Meredith, especially you didn't know sooner"

The Chief processes the information I told him, after some time he asks "Why didn't you say anything before talking to your mother?"

"I don't know" shaking my head "part of me was scared to, part of me was confused, but a big part of me just wanted to go and meet her but I was unsure of how she would react so I hired a PI"

"You hired a PI?" He asks

Nodding my head "I found out that she had two wonderful parents who aren't doctors, she's becoming a surgeon"

"She is?" He asks

Nodding my head "She's going to become one of the youngest surgeons" the chief gives a small smile "you should also know that I contacted her and in a few weeks she's coming out here to meet us"

"Does Meredith know?" He asks

"I just told her" standing up when I see John "you should know that from the one conversation I had with her, she sounds like such an amazing person"

"Luna" the Chief stops me as I'm nearly out the door "thank you for telling me and I'm sorry you had to keep this secret"

"I'm just glad the truth is out"
