After so many efforts and dedication riyan was finally selected to play for India team , his debut match is going to be a test series against Australia on 22 November 2024

When Riyan got to know about the news he was feeling so many emotions at the same time , it was his dream and his father's dream that one day he'll play for India

It all felt very surreal but at the same time he knew that it was just the beginning and his performance here will decide his future as a player of the Indian cricket team

Since the ipl was over , Shri and riyan grew distant due to their busy schedules and distance but after riyan got to know about the news he immediately called Shri to inform her of the same

Shri was overjoyed to hear the news , she knew the hardwork that riyan put in and his dream was finally coming true , he was finally getting the chance that he deserved

Riyan knew that Shri probably won't come to see the matches since tests are longer formats and she had pretty busy schedules, his family won't be able to come to the matches either due to work
He felt a little upset since it was debut for team India and he had no one who would support him and cheer for him from the stands

But his thoughts were cut short when he heard his phone ring , it was shri's call, he quickly picked it up

Shri: hi ri , kese ho?

Riyan: mai acha hu tum kesi ho

Shri: mai badhiya hu , vo mujhe tumhe kuch btana tha

Riyan : han bolo
Riyan knew that she called to inform that she won't be able to make it to the matches

Shri: I am coming to see your match ri!

Riyan: it's okay Shri koi baat ni , wait what?! Tum aari ho?!?

Shri: hn baba hn I am ! Tumhara debut kese miss kr sakti hu yr

Riyan : thank you so much yr sach me

Shri: tum hi bolte ho na dosti ko thankyou nhi bolte

Today is Riyan's birthday and Shri with the help of rest of the team members had planned a birthday party for Riyan

But shri had separate plans of her own as well

As soon as the clock hit 8 o'clock in the morning,Shri went to riyan's room and woke him up and made him wear a blindfold and helped him to reach the team common room

Shri: ok riyan on count of 3

Shri: 1...2.....3

Riyan opened his blindfold and ishan popped the confetti

Everyone: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Riyan: thankewwww

Shri: happy birthday ri

Shri said smiling

Riyan: thank you bunny

Riyan had given Shri a nick name due to her cute front bunny teeth

Shri: ugh you know I hate that name

Riyan: I know you love it

He said while Winking

Shri rolled her eyes but there was an obvious smile on her face

Shubman: chal riyan cut the cake

Ishan: nahi phle wish mang na tb katna

Shubman: hn wahi matlab tha Mera b

Riyan went ahead closed his eyes ,made a wish and looked at Shri for a slight second and blew the candles but before he could cut the cake his face was already emerged in it

Riyan: Ishannnnn

Ishan: mene nahi kiaaaaaa, shubu k kaam h

Shubman: kuch b bhai , mai kabhi kuch karta hu kya riyan tu hi bta

Riyan: dono gye

Ishan: are pr Maine to kuch Kia hi nhi bhai

Shri: thank God ki hm do cake le aaye the

Shri brought the second cake and riyan cut it
Shri had called riyan's mother so she could experience his birthday as well
Riyan gave the first bite to his mum
And than to Shri

After the party was over , they all went to practice for the matches and other team meetings till 6pm

6:00pm

Riyan: damn that was a long one , thak gye Aaj to

Shri: go take a bath I have something for you
Riyan: what is it
Shri: abhi bta dungi to surprise kaisa
Riyan: but-
Shri: are go naaaa
Shri dragged him to the bathroom and shut the door

After about 15 minutes Shri heard riyan's voice

Riyan: shriiii
Shri: kya huaa
Riyan: towel to bahar hi reh gya
Shri: ruku mai deti hu

Shri grabbed the towel and handed it to him by slightly opening the door

Riyan came out after a few seconds wearing nothing but a towel around his waist, the v shape muscle was visible just below his abdomen, Shri couldn't help but stare at him in awe
Shri didn't think that it was possible but his wet hair was making him look even more hot than he already is
His perfectly toned body was a sight in its own

Riyan: Shri meri shakal upar h
Shri: huh? Oh sorry vo mai ...choro

Riyan went to his closet and picked an outfit

Riyan: peeche Mt dekhna mai change kr rha hu .... Unless you want to
Shri: oh shut up
She said while blushing
Riyan: kidding....or not
Shri: stop ittt

Riyan got ready fairly quickly and blow-dried his hair , he looked handsome, he always looked handsome, not the typical intimidating model handsome, more like a comforting handsome

Riyan: ok chalo bunny ab bolo kya h mere lia
Shri: chalo mere sath
Shri said while grabbing his hands and pulling him with her

She took him to the beach in Sydney and closed his eyes

Shri: aaram se chalte rho....ok now stop

Riyan: open kru?
Shri: kro

Riyan opened his eyes and he could not believe what he was seeing

There was a blanket castle decorated with fairy lights and candles and cushions under it , there was a campfire right in front of it and it has a clear view of the sea and the night sky

Shri: do you like it?

Riyan didn't say anything but hugged her tightly

Riyan: thank youuuu so much bunny

Shri: are you forgetting the thankyou rule?

Riyan: ugh

Shri: ok so I have planned this okay...first we'll make marshmallow s'mores in the campfire, then we'll watch a movie , then we'll do stargazing

Riyan: you did all this for me?

Shri: nahi nahi pados wali aunty k lia Kia h
Riyan: ohho to unko bulana bhul gyi kya

Shri glared at riyan

Riyan: acha sorry bunny tum b na

Shri: but before that

Riyan: what

Shri: I have a gift for you , actually two

Riyan: but tum itna kuch krri ho or gift bhi , iski kya zarurat thi?

Shri: kuch chize zarurat dekh k nhi pyar se ki jaati h ri

Riyan was gazing at her

Shri: ok now, chalo waha baith k deti hu

Both of them sat inside the blanket castle and Shri handed him his gifts
He unwrapped the bigger one first and it was a card , a handmade one

Riyan: you made this?
Shri: umm hmm
Riyan opened it and saw his portrait with Shri
He smiled.
He flipped the page and saw a collage of photos of all their memories together
His smile grew even bigger seeing all the time they had spent as best friends
He flipped the page again and saw a letter that was folded , he opened it only to be surprised by the length of it, it was five pages long connected with each other
Riyan: can I read this right now?
Shri: sure
Riyan started reading it and by the time he was half was through it his eyes started watering and he sat the letter aside and gave Shri the tightest hug

Shri: I can't breathe ri

Riyan: I can't believe it yr , I never imagined ki koi mere lia b esa karega , thank you so much Shri , I really don't know how to thank you for everything you have done for me

Shri: you don't have to ri, that's what friends are supposed to do right? Care for each other, love eachother,right?

Riyan: ....right

Riyan didn't knew why but for the first time he felt a weird feeling when she said the word "friend"

Riyan read the rest of the letter and by the end of it he was practically sobbing

Shri: shhh ri it's okay you deserve all this and more

Riyan didn't say a word but just melted in her arms

He flipped the page again and saw six envelopes with each having a different mood written on it

Riyan: ye kya h Shri

Shri: these are 'open when letters'
See you are only allowed to open these whenever you feel that particular emotion for example if you feel sad for some reason then you'll open the 'open when you are sad letter'and so on

There were six letters
Open when:
You feel sad
You feel happy
You feel angry
You feel demotivated
You feel lonely
You miss me

Riyan: so thoughtful Shri, you didn't had to do it you know

Shri: I know , but I wanted to

Shri smiled at riyan and riyan looked into her eyes so deeply as if he blinked she would disappear, if if she was just a dream

Shri : ok now open your second gift

Riyan opened his second gift and saw a bracelet, a silver bracelet with his initials "RP" written on it
Riyan handed the bracelet to Shri and she helped him wear it
Riyan hugged her again
Riyan: it's beautiful Shri , and everything else too , I didn't expect and deserve any of this but still thank you very much
Shri: ek thappad marungi na bade aaye 'i didn't deserve it ' you are an amazing friend, an amazing son , an amazing sportsperson but most importantly you are an amazing person, and a person like you deserves the world ri

Riyan couldn't take his eyes off of her , it was as if he was seeing her in a different light this time but he couldn't quite place his finger on what he was feeling but all he wanted to do was stay with her for the rest of the night and the night to never end ....
