Only the Beginning...

Dani's POV:

After making it to the hotel, we call checked into out adjoining rooms, piling into the one in the middle before trying to decide how to spend our Friday night, that is after we indulged in something to eat. Lord knows, we all needed it to sober up some. We were all in the process of getting dressed for the night when Bailee walked into the room carrying a massive bag. Even through the white bag, I could see that it was all bachelorette items. Upending it, she spilled the contents of the bag onto the bed. There were hot picks wigs in varying lengths, sashes for each of us, head bands that had stuffed penises on springs that bobbed when they moved, straws that had little penises on them complete with plastic cups that were shaped with like penises -veins and all. But the most shocking of all was the glasses. Just like the head bands, there were penises on them on springs. To make matters worse, the glasses themselves lit up as did the little penises on each pair. Then again, this was Bailee were talking about and we had all learned over the years that she was not one to leave anyone that knew her shocked. To be honest, I'm surprised that a male stripped hasn't ascended upon the room yet. The night is still young...

"Did you raid a naughty store or something?" said Gabby, picking up a pair of the glasses and slipping them on, bobbing her head so the little penises danced around.

"What's a bachelorette party without rubber dicks?" said Bailee, utterly satisfied with her purchases.

"True." Laughed Maddi, placing a headband on her head.

"I have been wanting to do something daring with my hair..." said Everleigh, fingering one of the wigs. "But the hospital frowns upon doing anything but a natural hair color unless it's part of a Halloween costume."

"Then seize the day bitch! Because this is your last weekend as an unmarried woman, and we are all about to remind Athens how Sexy Six does things." Said Bailee, referring to the nickname she had given our little clique in college.  I might have been the one to have planned coming here for the weekend to celebrate, but it was obvious that Bailee was wanting to have a little more fun than that I had intended. The control freak side of me wasn't sure how I felt about it but the adventurous side of me was excited to have a little fun. Okay, maybe a little too much fun.

"You know we aren't wearing this stuff out to the restaurant though, right?" said Lizzie.

"Obviously!" said Bailee with an eye roll. "Were not wearing the dresses and crap when have on now either. We have got to look hot tonight! So, after dinner, were all coming back here, changing, and headed out to one of the old bars we used to hang out at. I hear the music scene had gotten even bigger than it was when we were in college. And if there isn't a good band playing, then I'm sure we can find a karaoke bar and do our worst."

"Puh-leeze! We all know that Dani will rock karaoke." Said Everleigh, eyeing me as she tipped her flask. It was no secret that I liked to sing -even considered myself good at it- but the fact that I had to be drunk to do it because of stage fright kept me from ever doing anything more than a random karaoke night.

"I swear, I dotn know why you are so scared to sing in front of people. It blows my mind how you can be so outgoing on the field, shaking your ass for everyone in the stadium yet if someone asks you to sing, you freeze up like the Tin Man after getting stuck in the rain. That is unless you have had just enough to drink." Said Gabby, her gaze locked on me.

"I don't know how to explain it." Said with a sigh. This wasn't the first time we had had this conversation. And if I knew the girls like I thought I did, it would be far from the last time too.

"Well, we know how to fix it." Said Everleigh, shoving her flask in my direction. Taking the proffered flask, I tilted it to my lips and took a sip. "In the words of the great Brantley Gilbert, 'if ain't wine don't sip it. Make it bubble when you hit it. Let it burn baby burn'."

"He was talking about moonshine in case you forgot." I snarked.

"If you want to go that route, I'm sure we can find some somewhere around here." Said Bailee. "Been awhile since I've had some of the real stuff and not that mess in the liquor store."

"I'm game." Said Maddi, and Lizzie simultaneously.

"Me too!" said Everleigh.

"I would be if it wasn't for this." Said Gabby, leaning back in the chair and rubbing her barely visible bump.

"Lets just go with this and see what the rest of the weekend brings." I said before tipping the flask back and emptying it. Grabbinga bottle of water from the bedside table, I took a long pull, using it aschaser. "Now, about that dinner...."

*****

The six of us brought more food back to the hotel than what we'd actually eaten, cramming out boxes into the little mini fridges in the rooms to have for when we got back from the bars. As everyone was getting ready, I slipped into the bathroom where it was a little quieter than being in the room and called to check on Quinny. She told me about going to the park and then going to Target when Pee-Pa brought her more Barbie's and accessories; like the child really needed anymore of either. She told me how much fun she was having and how her Gigi was making her favorite food for dinner -meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Satisfied that Quinny was okay, I made quick work of freshening up my makeup before tucking my long blonde hair into the pink wig. Thankfully, the gray cotton dress with cold shoulders and lace sleeves that I'd packed just in case I needed a dress for clubbing didn't clash with the wig. Slipping the dress on, I checked my reflection in the mirror and loved the overall look. Especially when it was going to be paired with some of thr most comfortable wedge heels I'd ever had the pleasure of owning.

Seeing the pink wig was a shock but even I had to admit that the hot pink color made my green eyes pop and showed off the dark tan that I'd managed to maintain all summer thanks to self-tanner and a tanning bed at home. Lord knows, my work and life didn't allow me time to just lay out in the sun and bask in its warm rays. Not that I condoned that type of thing because the sun is bad for your skin and we all knew it. Didn't mean that it stopped any of us by any means though. There was just something about laying on a beach chair, baking in the sun as the waves crashed and seagulls cawed overhead that relaxed a person more than anything. Well, not as much as a handful or orgasms would but since there was no man in my life, I wasn't getting any of those unless they came from my shower head or the rubber toy I kept tucked away in the bedside table.

Pushing all thoughts of my sex life -or lack thereof- to the back of my mind, I made my way out of the bathroom.  The rest of the girls were sitting around the room, already dressed and ready to hit the town.

"So what bar are we hitting first?" asked Everleigh, that flask yet again making its appearance.

"Well, I was thinking we start off at Moe's and then move on to the Silver Bullet." Said Bailee. "Lord knows, we've had our fair share of fun in both places."

"That we have." I smiled, remembering the last time we had hit Moe's. Sam Hunt had been an up-and-coming artist and had been playing that night. Each of us had became instant fans of his.

"Then its settled." Said Bailee, grabbing that bag of dirty toys and accessories from the corner before dishing out the items to each of us.

Once everyone had their sashes, headbands, cups, and straws, we all headed down to the lobby of the hotel where -to our surprise- Maddi had arranged for a limo service to pick us up and carry us around all night. As soon as we were inside, Everleigh went straight for the mini bar, passing airplane bottles of vodka to each of us.

"I know the night hasn't really even started yet but I wanted to say all this before I get too wasted tonight and turn into a blubbering mess." Said Everleigh, holding up her mini bottle in way of a toast. "You girls are some of the best friends I've ever had, and I don't know where I would be without y'all. Dani, thank you for planning this weekend, even if Bailee putting her little spin on things is making that OCD of yours fly off the charts. Maddi, Gabby, Lizzie, thank y'all for giving up your weekend to be here with us. It means more that y'all even know. And Bailee, I can always count on you to make any get together memorable. I'm sure that this weekend will be one that none of us soon forget. I know I won't because I will always remember this as the last weekend I had with my girls before I have to settle down into married life. I will forever be thankful for us all meeting that day at tryouts and becoming best friends."

"Please! Like married life Is going to suddenly turn you into a Stepford wife." Said Bailee with an eyeroll. "You might have those folks at the hospital and lover boy's parents fooled, but we all know that a piece of paper and ring on your finger ain't going to change who you are."

"You're right." Said Everleigh with a laugh. "Either way, I'll always remember this weekend as one of the best of my life because I got to spend it with my sisters from other misters."

The six of us piled together for a group hub before slamming back the vodka shots. The rest of the ride, we all talked about old times. The six of us piled together for a group hub before slamming back the vodka shots. The rest of the ride, we all talked about old times and how it didn't matter that Everleigh was getting married; we were still going to get together at least once a year and root for our Dawgs.
