Chapter 5: Welcome to my humble home
*Justin POV*
"No, of course not. Who has a butler these day?" I nervously laugh. Great, just great. Why did I tell him about my butler. I must remember that not everyone has a butler. But the worst thing is that, I said that I would tell my butler about him. That is not cool, not cool at all. I wonder if I seem like a freak. I just have to play it cool and then he will forget everything I just said.
"We need to get to class. Do you know where your next lesson is?" Trevon asks me, summoning me from my thoughts. I tell him what class I have next and he shows me to the classroom. We happen to be in the same lesson again.
*after school*
My first day of school wasn't that bad. I'm glad that Diamond goes to the same school as me. Unluckily, the dragons in pink noticed me today and couldn't stop flirting with me. I was so tempted to remind them that Diamond is my 'girlfriend' but I'm scared that if I said that, Trevon would hate me forever and may kill me in my sleep. He said that you will get used to them, and if you're lucky they would get over you like how they got over Cody and the Joel guy he talks about. But since I am the definition of bad luck and I am also super sexy, it will take them a long time to get over this.
As I walk out of the school building I see diamond sitting by herself waiting for something. I run up to where she is sitting and sit next to her.
"What are you waiting for?" I ask.
"My stupid brother forgot that we had plans tonight and now I am waiting for him to get back from whatever his doing so I can shout at him." She says looking at her phone.
Suddenly an idea appeared in my head, "Why don't you hang out with me." I am fully confident that she would say-
"No." She interrupts my thoughts. That didn't go as well as I thought. I give her the puppy dog eyes, hoping that she will fall for them. Sadly it doesn't work.
"No means no, Hot Stuff. Don't you have someone else to bother." Gorgeous says, as if she is annoyed because of me.
"Yea, but I'd rather be bothering you," I whine, not meaning to sound like a child. She starts to get up and walk away from me. I lie on the floor and cling onto her leg, begging her to let me come. "Please I'll be good. Please! Please! Please! Please! Please ! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please!" I keep on repeating, hoping she would give in. But surprisingly she is very stubborn.
"N, O spells no!" She says, trying to shake me off.
"I'll buy you ice cream and some chocolate on the way home," I say, trying to bribe her into letting me go.
"Yes! Free food!" She shouts as she helps me up and drags me to the closest shop. Shoot. I didn't think she would take me seriously. I check my pockets to see if I have enough money and luckily I have a fifty pound note in there.
She drags me to the freezer section and chooses on of the biggest and most expensive tubs of ice cream, it also happens to be salted caramel.
"Are you serious? I am not going to get that. It costs fifteen pounds!" I tell looking at the price.
"I know," she says as she drags me off to the chocolate section and picks the most expensive chocolate bar in the shop. This time I didn't argue, knowing it would cause terrible. We go up to the till and pay for the ice cream and the chocolate. Note to self: never let Diamond choose what you are going to get her.
As we start to walk home, I ask her, "Are you planning to share all of that?"
She starts to laugh as if I said the funniest thing ever. Well obviously, she has gone crazy.
"No, I didn't want to looks greedy, so it seems like we're sharing when we aren't. See, it's a fool proof plan." She says, while stuffing a spoonful of ice cream in her mouth.
I grab the spoon and start shoving it into the tub, trying to get the ice cream that I paid for. She starts to elbow me and gives me 'the look'.
"No ice cream for you," she sounds like she is a toddler trying to tell off an adult. It so cute watching her nose scrunch up when- No, I am not supposed to be thinking this. We are friends. Nothing more. Don't get your hopes up when we both know, nothing is going to happen.
I give her the cutest puppy eyes I could ever pull off hoping she would compromise with me.
She looks into my eyes and back at the ice cream and chocolate. She looks back at my eyes and then the ice cream and chocolate. She continues doing this for a while like she is debating on giving me the some of her food or not. It really does hurt that it takes her five minutes to decide if she wants me to eat her food or not. I think I am worth more than chocolate and ice cream, right?
"Sorry, Hot Stuff. You maybe cute, but your not, 'me-sharing-ice-cream-with-you-hot'. But I-" She pauses hesitating to finish of her sentence and then sighs. "But I guess I could give you half of my chocolate." She snaps the bar into two and gives me the bigger half. I quickly thank her as I devour the chocolate in twenty seconds.
After a lot of conversations and unsuccessful attempts of me trying to get a spoonful of ice cream, we reach our flat completely tired out.
"So... What do we do now?" I ask hoping she'll stay with me, not for a particular reason.
"Well, I have nothing to do, so..." she mumbles the last part. "You could come in my home for a few hours." I aggressively nod my head and follow Diamond to her home.
"Welcome to my humble home" she says while opening the door. As soon as we walk through the door, friendly pair of eyes welcomes me.
The old man I saw chasing the postman the other day, comes towards me. I put out my hand expecting a firm handshake, but he pulls me into an unexpected hug.
"Hi, I'm Diamond's dad." He says.
"Hi sir, I'm Justin" I put out my hand expecting a firm handshake, but he pulls me into a short, unexpected hug.
"No need to be so formal, just call me you future father-in-law" heat rinses to my cheeks, as Diamond gets darker.
"D-dad! We are just friends!" She says.
A sting in my heart appears out of nowhere as I hear her last sentence. It kept on replaying in my head. Am I really just a friend to her? Not like it matters, because I don't like her. I just need her to like me so it can prove I can get any girl I want, not saying that I want but- you get want I mean.
"I'm joking, just call me Mat." He laughs. "You youngsters should go to Diamond's room. I'll get you some snacks. Any thing you what in specific?"
Before I could answer, Diamond quickly shouts, "Ice-cream!"
"But you just had ice-cream, and your not even finished!" I say as Diamond starts to drag me to the stairs.
"The ice-cream is for you, silly," she laughs as we finally get to the top of the stairs. "I feel bad for not giving you some so I'm going to get you your own."
If I was her, I would just give me some of the ice-cream we already bought, but there is no point of questioning her ways.
We reach a the final door at the end of the corridor. Her room was small but comfortable. There's a desk next to the door, a fitted in wardrobe, with mirrors as the doors. Her bed is right next to the window and on the bed is a stuffed pink unicorn.
I try to pet its head, but before I'm able to, Diamond snatches it for the bed and rocks it softly in her arms.
"Why did you try to hurt Mr Fluffy?" Diamond sounds like an overprotective five year old. "What did he ever do to you?"
"I only tried to pet him."
"Well, don't!" She says as she puts him back onto the bed.
"Any way," I say trying to change the subject. "Where's your mum?"
