Frigid Woods
I stood in the midst of a copse of trees, my breathing ragged. It was cold out, allowing me to see the short, jagged breaths. I hate the cold. Hate it. But the cold was the least of my concerns at the moment.
He was after me.
I had managed to outrun him for a bit, and don't ask me why I ran into the woods to get away. That was so stupid....but then again, everything I did was stupid.
Like talking to the random guy on the street. The guy in doctor's clothing. He looked like he needed help.. He had blood all over him...I thought it was his own. I rushed over to him, offered to help. He just stared at me with those unnerving crimson eyes and held a bloody glove up to his face to bring that surgical mask down. He bared his teeth...his jagged teeth at me in what looked like a smile.
"Hello, dear." came from his mouth, a dark rumble of words that I barely heard over the pounding of my own heartbeat. He lifted up a bloodied knife, some sort of doctor's instrument that I couldn't name. He flicked it over in my own direction, causing several splatters of the lifeblood to stain my t-shirt. I had began to run, stumbling to wherever my feet would take me. Which was the woods, apparently. Looking behind me every minute or so, I could see the man's figure standing out against the bleak light of the streetlamps that lined the edge of the forest. The fog covered the ground, and I wasn't able to see where I was going, which caused me to trip every other minute. I had somehow managed to escape him.
Alright, back to the present.
It was cold. I was tired. My legs were sore from running. I looked around. Seems like he was gone...I leaned up against the back of one of the trees. Maybe I would be able to rest a bit ...maybe take a quick breather....
NO!!
My mind snapped back to reality as a sharp snap of a twig cracked through the silence of the woods. A pair of arms wrapped around my chest, on of the hands cupping itself on my mouth. I coughed, the strong reek of blood filling my nostrils
"Hello again, darlin" The voice muttered, the smoothness of the voice sending a slight shudder through my spine.
I tried to move, tried to struggle, tried to scream. But the male only tightened his grip and laughed
"Now, now, don't be scared..." He hissed, beginning to walk off somewhere, dragging my struggling self with him.
I tried to yell at him, to shout profanities at him, but my voice came out muffled, and caused the male to chuckle "Aw, maybe you should try to be quiet for once, eh, doll?" He chuckled. Briefly stopping, he tightened the grip of his left arm and moved it so that it would hold my arms down in place and keep my mouth shut as he reached down with his right hand. Oh, g0d, was he reaching down for a knife?! I'm too young to die, too ...well, I just don't want to die!
His left hand moved off of my mouth, and I soon felt a small piece of rough fabric being pressed up against my lips, the loose ends of the fabric covering my nostrils. I felt my body start to shut down...felt my eyes start to close...felt my body go limp...and my vision started to blur, the already foggy edges of the woodlands surrounding us becoming dark and gray.
Before I fell asleep, I heard one last thing:
"That's right, darling, go to sleep, it will be better soon now."
"I'll take care of you."
