Reapers are like dead in a way right?
Well I'm sure they eat stuff and all but I don't think some stuff with give them the right strength, not like when they were alive. Fruit... Let me explain

A fruit is full of yummies! What if reapers are like fruit bats! They see and fruit and they Must have it, it would give them engery and it tastes good, humans for example have to eat things with potassium because our body's don't produce it naturally, bananas have potassium, so we eat them to replenish our potassium levels,
what if a reaper have to eat fruits with certain vitamins and nutrition for their body does not produce it anymore?, it would make a bit of sense with the death scythes being based off gardening tools!

I like this theory, humans eat certain things to get certain vitamins, A reaper is dead they wouldn't be able to produce anything really, eating fruits and vegetables to replenish their levels makes sense,
I'm sure there are other foods with the same things but I like fruit and I'm quite healthy, so I see a reaper eatting greens and veggies to stay healthy funny and smart!

Now imagine undertaker in a tree eatting mangos, and his death scythe hanging off a branch, that's some quality story telling there
