Perspective
There are many different perspectives to each situation.
With each situation comes many sides. Every side has a different view.
Many things can change or obstruct your view.
Whether it be a past experience or a current situation. Each changes your view.
The mind is a very strange place. You can be so caught up with your own life that you barely notice anything around you, or maybe something happens that makes you pay more attention.
Each mind reacts to situations differently. No one has the same perspective as someone else. Every little thing changes it.
Remember the phrase, "Step into someone else's shoes." It basically means, think about it in their perspective. Now, you can't really see in someone else's perspective but you can think about it differently.
Step out of your own mind for a while. Seeing one situation differently can change your whole perspective.
When you look back at past situations, you realize all the things you could've said, or the things you should've done, or maybe even realize you should've avoid it all together. Between the the time that you got into that last verbal sparring or maybe fist fight, you've gotten wiser, or at least you've got a different perspective on the whole situation.
Which is mainly because once you're in the middle of the situation you're trying really hard to come up with a clever comeback or your next punch.
Your vision is also obstructed of most things that will happen as a result of the situation. Also between then and now you've gone through things that've changed your perspective, even just slightly.
You never know if you're the antagonist to your antagonist's protagonist. Did that make sense? What I'm trying to say is that who you picture as the antagonist in your story isn't the antagonist in their own story.
While you're the hero in your own story, you may be the villain in someone else's.
Each new book, article, or movie you see, can change your perspective. It might be something that the protagonist fights for or is against that you never thought about, or maybe the antagonist's backstory gets you thinking that everybody has a story.
That character is now impacting you and your decisions. Which means that your perspective has changed.
One little thing, can change your world.
