Luna- this is by far her favorite nickname, given to her by an old gardener. As her last name means adviser wolf or warrior. But also, she would converse with the old gardener through the windows of her house at night and as she became older, she and the old harder wandered at night. She received the name Luna because of how often she looked at the moon and how much her eyes reminded the old gardener of the moon

Her relationship with her mother is complicated. Her mother wants her only daughter to be better than she could be. She pushes more things on her than her parents did in her. Astrid failed applying for the position as Handmaiden many years ago. She forces Sif to do many things against her will.

He is a control freak. He wants Astrid to be the perfect wife. Their marriage is toxic. He wants Sif to become a handmaiden for one of the princes so they can get a benefit. He yells at Sif when she messes up even a tiny bit and calls her wild and uncontrollable. Because of Erik, if Sif failed to become a handmaiden, she would be kicked to the street. Forced to be a beggar.
Brother- Trygve
He is the only person that Did has ever held dear besides the old gardener. He protected her from the relentless tellings and beatings of their parents and he would help her get out of doing the countless chores. He is a trainee for the guards, and is the top of his unit. He teaches her how to spar a bit and how to survive in the wilderness, if she ever wanted to run away. He doesn't want her to become a handmaiden. He knows that she is meant for better things than following a princes every move.

Friends:
Bjørn- Bjørn is the old gardener that she met as a young girl. They grew very close, but once she became of age to become a handmaiden whenever the princes were ready, he died. She regretted not getting to know more about him.  She carries about a small pendant on her necklace that has his ring. He was married. But his wife was dead and he had no children. He was the closest thing she had to a real father growing up

So it has come the time for Prince Thor Odinson, future king of Asgard and God of Thunder, along with Prince Loki Laufeyson, God is Mischief, to acquire handmaidens. Freya and Odin will be interviewing and chosing one handmaiden each for their son. The duty of a handmaid is to take care of the prince they are assigned to. To appear in public with them, spend time with them and get to know them. To take care of all their needs, including their sexual needs. The handmaid's are given contraceptives as to not get pregnant by the prince.
Prince Thor is required to marry a princess as he is next in line for the throne and it would be frowned upon for him to marry his handmaiden. Most people want to become handmaid to thor. He is future king. So most girls there are hoping to become his handmaid and are very excited.
There are rumors around Prince Loki, the youngest. And truths circle around those rumors as well. They don't know the younger prince of darkness well. And most girls are scared of the thought of being his handmaid, not knowing how gentle he can truly be.
