OUR RƐQUIRƐMƐƝƬS
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢

▣ This goes without saying; all books must adhere to Wattpad guidelines.

▣ You can enter two books into the club; one as your long term partnership book and the other as your house party book.

▣ All new members are subject to a one-week trial period where you go through our Reviewing Boot-Camp before you become a full-fledged member of the club.

▣ Just FYI, if you ever went MIA on the club without notice, either during your trial or as a full-fledged member, you will not be let back into the club if you reapply.

▣ Our Book club is cross platforms, i.e. we also have a Coalition Book club on Inkitt and on Discord. If you're interested in joining our bi-weekly reading club on Inkitt, go check us out there, if you're interested in our Discord book club, apply to join our community.

▣ All books and communication must be in English and books entered into the club must have at least 5 chapters, excluding the author's note. If you've only got 5 chapters at the time you apply, let us know in your application how often you intend to update.

▣ We accept mature and LGBT. If you do not read mature and or LGBT, let us know on your application form.

▣ Readers are welcomed. If you're interested in reading and providing constructive feedback to writers, we're happy to have you.

▣ We accept all genres, except random, short stories and One-shots.

▣ You are required to follow the founder and co-founders of the Coalition Community. Their handles are on our profile bio.

▣ Follow this account and add this book to your library to receive all of our weekly reading updates.

▣ Be active and communicative, and if you ever require time off, let your housekeeper know or message the community account as soon as you can.

▣ You're to follow your housekeeper for easier communication.

▣ We do not use hashtags when reviewing in Coalition.

▣ Our inbox should be your best friend. If you ever change your username, book name, or make any changes or updates to your story, message us ASAP, or message the founder or one of our co-founders.

▣ Our reading/reviewing requirement is 2 chapters a week with at least 1 in-line comment and one compulsory end of chapter review.

▣ The Coalition Log goes out every Monday at 9:00 AM EST and all reviewing deadline is Sunday 10:00 PM EST.

Our book club operates тwo ѕyѕтeмѕ: Tнe Loɴɢ Terм Pαrтɴerѕнιp αɴd Tнe Hoυѕe-Pαrтy Weekly Reading.

Members are shuffled into one of our four house parties:
Seɴтιɴelѕ | Tнe BlαcĸSĸυllѕ | Hoυѕe WιɴтerClαw | Tнe Cαrdιɴαlѕ.

Every week, a book is selected for each house party by the housekeeper, and the Houseparty members are required to read two chapters of their house pick [Cell Pick]. Once done, they are to return to the log and comment 'done with chapter 2&3' so their housekeepers know they've completed their reading/review for the week.

For our long term partnerships, there's a partnership log chapter [chapter 4]. For this, you pick a member whose book interests you and you both read each other's books till the end. The partnership log  chapter shows all club members' books, genres, chapters and availability. You get to choose a long-term partner, message them and agree on a reading arrangement and let admin know either via private message or with a comment on the partnership log chapter.

Once your partnership is confirmed, it is added to the partnership log chapter. This way, you and your partner can read, log your weekly progress until you finish.

Long term partners are required to read at least one chapter of their partner's book every week until they finish each other's stories. If you and your partner want to read more chapters, discuss that and let us know, so we can keep track of it.

ᗷOOK Oᖴ Tᕼᕮ ᗰOᑎTᕼ
◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢

For our fourth edition, we're going retro. We're putting a pin in the Banner Shelves and Bringing the Book of The Month reading back. Every month, a member's book will win the BOTM spot, and every member of the Coalition Club will be required to read and review two chapters within each given month.

The deadline is the last day of the month, since the new BOTM will be announced on the second day of each month in the weekly log. A dedicated BOTM chapter for each month will be posted after the BOTM is announced, that is where members are to log their reading completion, and ask whatever BOTM related questions they might have.

The BOTM is determined through our Ace ranking system. Check out the Ace Ranking Chapter [Chapter 3] to learn more about that.

◣━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━◢

REVIEW LEGEND
Every month, the housekeepers nominate a member from their house who they believe gives helpful, constructive feedback during the weekly readings, and they earn 10 Ace Points. They also get honourable mention in the weekly log for the entire month they win Review Legend.

ACE POINT SYSTEM
We use the Ace ranking system to select the Book of The Month.  Members can also use their Ace points to cancel a strike penalty. To learn more about how to earn Ace Points, navigate to the Ace Ranking Chapter [Chapter 3]. The Ace Ranking chapter will display each member's accumulated Ace points, which is updated bi-weekly or before the end of each month.

HIATUS
You're allowed time off, we understand there's a real-world out there, and we respect that. So whenever you need time off, slid in your housekeeper's DM and let them know. We do our best to ensure everyone's active and moving, so hiatus only lasts for a month, and it's best to request hiatus before a new weekly log goes out. If you request for hiatus during a reading round, you're required to complete the reading for that week before you go on break. In the event that you don't, when you return, you'll have to complete said reading before you can resume.

EXTENSION
Whenever you're falling behind on your reading or something comes up, and you're not able to do the reading for the week, you can always ask for an extension. Simply send us a DM to let us know you need an extension, and you'll get a week to catch up. If you require longer than a week, kindly let us know the situation and how long you need.

▣ We have a 3 strike rule. Once you get three consecutive strikes, you're out and will not be allowed back into the club, especially if we've tried to reach you to no avail.

▣ You get a strike when you do not complete your reviews before the weekly deadline and don't request an extension or aren't on hiatus.

▣ Once you get a strike, to undo it, you are required to read the overdue chapters plus one additional chapter as a penalty.

▣ Each weekly log has a section under the weekly news and announcements where those who have a strike are listed. Make sure to check to know and reach out to your housekeeper if you think there's an error.

Coalition is a small tribe, and we'd rather have active, serious members interested in giving and receiving feedback than anything else.

We value our members because we know how much time and effort they put into making this work, so it's only fair that they get the same effort in return.

That said, if your goal's to gain reads and split without putting in the work, please do not apply to the Coalition Book Club.
