It’s been a week Dad and Alvin came back.  As usual dad was behaving like I never existed. At least I was happy that my mom and my little brother were having good time.

I went down the stairs as it was my school time.

“Mom!” I called

I went to kitchen to look for my mom.

I could not feel my mother’s presence. She always used to hum at the morning.

“Mom” I called again.

“She is not here.” I heard a hard voice which surprisingly was my father’s.

So I exist for him.

Well I could feel my heart swell in happiness because my dad replied to me after a long time.

“Where is she?” I asked.

“She had to go urgently to Nathalie’s home. She is sick and no one is at her home.” Dad replied.

“Okay, I hope she is well.”  Nathalie was my mother’s sister and my aunt. She lives in the other end of the city.

“I am going to drop you school today.” Dad announced.

My jaw dropped and I was in shock. My dad didn’t only talk to me but also going to DROP ME SCHOOL!! Oh my god!

Did sun rise from west today? Or is this a dream?

Yes I must be dreaming! I will wake up and the whole world will return back as it was.

I heard a throat clearing and realized my jaw was open. I quickly closed it.

“Thank you” I said truly.

“Get your breakfast quickly and call me. “ Dad ordered.

“Yes, dad”

I quickly went to the kitchen and found my cereals. I put them in a bowl and added milk. The cereals were so tasty. They were my favorite one with honey. But the tastiest part was the milk turned into honey milk due to cereals.

I finished eating and went to my room to get my bag.

I went down the stairs and called my dad.

“I am in the car” Dad replied. I heard his sound coming from outside.

“Alvin, come down!” I shouted.

I heard running of footsteps and felt his presence in front of me.

“What is it Annie?” He asked in his sleepy voice.

“Mom has gone to Aunt Natalie’s house and Dad is going to drop me school” I heard him gasp

“Dad’s going to drop you school?” He asked surprised.

“Yes and now close the door. Don’t open it for anyone except mom or dad. Okay?”

“Yes”

I hugged him and said goodbye.

I went to car and opened the door. I settled in my sit.

“Sorry for being late. I had to call Alvin to lock the door”

“Okay”

Dad started the car and drove.

After ten minutes we reached school and dad shut the engine.

“Your school is here” Dad announced.

“Thank you daddy” I said and felt a tear drop fall down on my face.

I felt my dad shifting in his seat uncomfortably. So he was affected by me.

“Welcome. Now go, I or your mom will pick you up.” His voice was soft for the first time

“Okay”

I opened the door and stepped out. I heard his car turn around and left.

I went forward. I could hear all the chatters going on. It was usual day but for me it was a very special day. I couldn’t stop that pretty big green from my face.

 Dad talked to me softly!

I couldn’t really digest it. It was not a dream.

A pair arms hugged me from behind. I shrieked.  And hear laughter of the person. I put a hand on my heart.

I realized it was Dean. So I was so involved in my thought that I couldn’t notice his arrival.

“Hey, Angel, you still in your dream land?” He laughed “You should have seen you face!”

“Enough of your laugh, why did you do that?”  Though I was secretly glad to hear him laugh.

“It was fun.”

“Okay” I decided to let it go because I couldn’t stop myself from smiling.

“So what happened?” He asked

“Means?”

“You have been lighting the whole school with your million watt smile.”

He explained. I could hear him being curious and also happy.

“My dad and brother have come home for vacation.” I replied happily. I had not told him about my relationship with my father. It was for another time. Don’t want to spoil my mood.

“That’s nice. Just keep smiling like that. I love it.”

Hearing that word “love” made my heart flutter. He loved something about me. This day is going on being better and better.

I replied him with a smile.

The school bell rang.

“Let’s go Angel, or else we will be late.” Dean said and wrapped an arm around my waist and guided us forward.

I love when Dean does that. It makes me feel special.

How time flew away, I didn’t realize. I was doing la la in my happy world.  It was lunch time. Clay and I were heading towards school’s garden my favorite place.

“Hey girls” Dean greeted us “So where are you heading?”

“To the garden, we mostly sit under the tree and eat lunch” Clay replied.

“Change of plans, both of you coming to cafeteria with me to have lunch” Dean declared

“Dean you go ahead, we will eat at garden” I said

“No I am not listening to anything. What I said that’s final.”

So we headed to cafeteria and sat down on our table. We talked about five minutes then someone arrived.

“Hey man! What’s up?”The new person said

“Hey man! I am good?” Dean replied

The new person took a chair with us.

“So are you going to introduce me to these beautiful ladies?” I could feel him smirking.

“This is Clare and this is Annable. Clay and Annie this here is my best friend Ron.” Dean introduced us.

“Hi” We both greeted together.

“Did you move here with Dean?” Clay asked Ron

“No, I stay here. I used to go to other school.” Ron answered

“So how are you both best friends?” Clay asked again. She is a really curious person.

“I used to live here when we small then we had to move away. But we kept in contact, visiting each other on vacations.” Dean explained.

It was nice talking with Ron. He was a cool person and I could feel how truthful he was to Dean.

“Excuse me!” Samantha’s shrill voice said from near our table

“Yes! You are excused” Clay said

“I am not talking to you. So Dean and Ron, you are new here?” Samantha asked as if she didn’t know.

“Yes” Ron replied

“So why are you sitting here with these ones? Come join us at our table” She arrogantly said the first part and the next part softly.

“No thanks” Ron answered

“Seriously, why do you want to sit with these losers?”

“They are not losers” Dean said. His voice sounded like he was controlling his anger.

“Oh you don’t know at all!” Miss pig head laughed

“Enough!” Dean’s voice boomed “This behavior of yours is ridiculous! Apologize them”

“Very funny, I just said the truth”

“Get out and never talk to us again” Dean shouted angrily.

I have never seen Dean so angry, it was new to me. But I was happy that he was standing up for us.

“Fine!” Samantha turned angrily on her heels making loud scratch noise.

“Just mind your own business, Miss Sammy lammy” Clay shouted

Everyone in the cafeteria laughed.

The rest of the day went well and normal. Dad picked me up from school. Mom was going to stay at aunt’s house today. Dad didn’t speak with me other than to order what I wanted to eat.

The day was fully a memorable one with lots of good memories and fun.After Dinner, I fell on my bed and took off landing to my dreamland.
