Luna's POV

I could hear someone whispering from Leon's office, so like the nosey Alpha female I am, I followed it.

''He's weakening Leon.'' A feminine voice came through the closed door.

''Is there anything we can do?'' I could tell Leon's voice from an hour away and he was stressed from everything that was happening around us, but he was more worried now.

''We can give her pills... but it's his choice to wake up.''

I'm not stupid; it's Aiden they're talking about! I burst straight through the door, almost knocking it off its hinges as I forced my way through the doorway.

''You're talking about Aiden right!? Why aren't I involved? He's my little brother and you're whispering about his condition in secret!?''

''Luna, calm down'' Leon reached for my arm but I shrugged him off feeling my anger and need to protect my helpless baby brother rising. Leon looked hurt but understanding which I gladly welcomed and would feel appreciative about later but there was more important things to feel right now.

''It's his choice to wake up.'' Marry Ann said from the bookcase in the far corner of the room.

''So you're saying he hasn't woken because...he doesn't want to?'' My own words stung my heart, my eyes, my body and my soul. My wolf ached for her little brother. I ached for my little brother.

Leon and Marry Ann both shared a sympathetic look and the reality of what I had said being confirmed hurt like a thousand knives. I felt tears trickle over my eyelashes and wash down my cheeks. I felt numb and my wolf was whining for our little brother.

''He might want to wake up, his wolf might too, but something is holding him back. He needs to want to wake one hundred precent with not a single doubt in his mind.''

Marry Ann rested her hands on my shoulders but I could barely feel it. My own brother didn't want to wake up? Was it my fault? Maybe when I was locked up I shouldn't have listened to them. I should have looked for him once I got out. Even if it was his lifeless body I found, I should have looked and even if he wasn’t there maybe I shouldn’t have brought him back to the camp, maybe he would have been better on his own. He survived ten years on his own, of course he was capable.

''Don't blame yourself Luna. If you hadn't have brought him here he would have died out there on his own.'' Leon reached for me but I stepped back with a disbelieving look.

''He's in a coma Leon. A coma!'' My eyes were burning with unshed tears waiting in line for their chance to escape down my face with the others that had fallen.

''He's been on his own since he was 5 Leon! We should have gone back for him! If they did that to me imagine what they did to him. He has always been the most precious thing to me! They said they killed him and they very well could have tried!'' I fell to my knees, ''Reality is so cruel.'' I whispered through my tears and sobs.

I cried for what felt like an eternity with Leon rocking me back and forth in the silence of the room that Marry Ann had left long ago to go tend to the patients in the hospital.

I'm so sorry baby brother.

The camp alert siren sounded and I have never shot up so fast in my entire life. The last time the siren needed to be sounded was the war that took my son. Sirens are only used for serious threats; anything else is usually a howl or a messenger.

Leon, Jayce, Rhyan and I ran outside. Evan had been told by Rhyan to stay inside with Aiden because he needed someone with him, and I think Rhyan was way too protective to let him step a foot outside anyway so we let him.

It looked like hell outside. Wolves everywhere. You could barely tell brother from brother, sister from sister, enemies from allies. All the fur just mashed into one big pit in the town.

We wasted no time shifting and jumping into battle along with our pack. There was nothing an Alpha or Beta would do to save, protect and destroy for the pack’s welfare.

There were teeth, claws and fur everywhere, but none the shade of white, grey or brown, all tinted the colour of war, the colour of blood, the colour red.

I caught sight of the Jen brothers battling a much too large male. They were barely old enough to learn how to fight properly, let alone battle. I have to protect everyone I can, I told my wolf letting her push to the surface.

I lunged at the male snapping my teeth at his face before lowering my head, growling and standing my ground between the two young teens. They followed suit and like a synchronised beast, out for nothing more than blood, we went for his throat and anyone else's that dared get in our way as we made our way to the middle of the batte.

We continued fighting the horrible battle until a loud yelp was heard and a stern woman's voice commanded a single word that left the forest utterly soundless.

''Sit.'' And the enemy did so.

Everyone turned to the tall woman. Black hair, black floor length dress, and a blood splatter that went from one of her coal black eyes to the other that stood out of place on her pale skin. What caught my attention was not her features but what was in her hands dangling above the ground.

She had Evan struggling in her right hand by the back of his neck and Aiden's sleeping body in the other by his neck too. 

I raced towards him but there was a line of wolves protecting the woman. Jayce, Rhyan and Leon joined my sides ready to do anything to protect our loved ones. I could tell Rhyan was just as distressed as me, while Leon and Jayce masked theirs with pure hate and anger.

''My my, I see I took two fine males if I have you three here. Alpha, Luna, and Rhyan.''

We all growled as she smirked and dug her nails into Evan's neck, causing Rhyan to lower and growl.

''Now now puppy. I could kill him faster than you could move one paw.''

Her black eyes flashed red before the darkness consumed them again.

''I'm guessing this is Evan. Your mate and brother. You are both being taken care of by the alpha's if I remember correctly.''

She did her research. This is more than a random attack. She wants something. Something important and I didn’t want to know what.

''Maybe I can please my elders with his body? He looks like a young and healthy virgin.'' she snickered before Evan yelped again from her nails now drawing blood from his neck and letting it trickle slowly to his collar bone.

A mate can only take so much. I looked to Rhyan but he was already being held by the neck through the jaws of another wolf from his attempt of attacking her. He struggled before breaking free and trying again only for the process to continue. After numerous attempts Leon calmed him as much as possible. Breaking that defending line was impossible. Every member of our pack was tired, bloodied and sore. Even as the largest and leading pack in the East... this was a tough battle.

''I don't actually need him. You can have him in return for my object I want.'' She threw Evan to the floor at her feet.

He coward away from her and scrambled to lay crying on Rhyan who stayed in his wolf form and nuzzled him reassuringly letting out a soft, rumbling growl that sounded like a purr to calm his trembling mate.

''What do you want?'' Leon growled next to me.

''I want this.'' She dangled Aiden in front of her and I saw red as pure hate and rage clouded my vision, my soul and my very being.

''Never.'' I growled, running straight for her.

I'm sooo sorry for not uploading all the time like I used to but you know school and everything  >.< So I wrote this chapter out yesterday then my mum turned my laptop charger off without telling me and it died and deleted! So I didn't even wanna look at my computer until now xD. This chapter was supposed to be two parts one about Luna then the second for the battle but it would have been way too short.

Anyways here you go !
