Chapter Twelve
I was the first one to jump out of my seat when the last period got over and I rushed to my locker immediately, feeling excited about annoying Tyler and proving him wrong. He would be so shocked to see me with another guy and it would also be a reminder for him that I do think about other guys.
I pulled out my phone and saw a text from Cara that he was on his way and another text from Tyler himself.
'Waiting in front of the library.' - Tyler.
I smirked, considering that it was the best opportunity to flaunt my fake boyfriend in front of him. I lifted my head from my phone and saw the guy from Cara's phone, standing in front of me with a huge grin.
"Chloe Adams! It would be an honor to be your fake boyfriend for however long you want. I'm Dylan." He extended his hand for a shake but I rolled my eyes and brushed past him, indicating with my fingers to follow me.
"Listen carefully, we need to act like a boyfriend and girlfriend in front of Tyler Cummings. No questions asked and nothing more than touching and holding hands, got it?" I asked, turning around to see him following me like a lost puppy.
"Yes, that would be great." He replied, walking beside me now and we both headed towards the library. I could feel Dylan staring at me and blushing hard like a starstruck teenager and I would have found it funny and cute before but now my mind was filled with Tyler and I desperately hoped it wasn't in a romantic way or anything.
"Is that him?" Dylan pointed out in front of the library and I saw Tyler, busy on his phone. He was wearing a white sweatshirt as usual and a pair of black jeans that hung loosely around his waist. He looked kind of cute and I couldn't believe that my eyes found him cute despite his glasses and his nerdy look.
"Yup, that's him." I breathed out nervously as we were getting closer and I could feel my heart beating so fast.
"He looks like a loser. This should be a piece of cake." Dylan commented and wrapped his arms around my shoulders, pulling me closer. It felt uncomfortable and weird but I asked for this and there was no way to back out now.
"Just keep smiling at me and pretend that I said a joke or something," Dylan suggested and I gave him a crazy look. I can't smile or laugh just like that.
"Come on, do it. He is looking at us."
"What?" I let out a nervous chuckle and placed my hand on Dylan's chest. This whole thing felt so stupid and my mind almost agreed with Tyler words. I must be dumb for real like he mentioned the other day outside the principal's office.
Who even does this?!
"This is so crazy and stop pulling me closer." I spoke through gritted teeth with a wide smile, looking at Dylan. I must have looked like a freak while he laughed out loud without any announcement like I just said the funniest thing ever.
Wow, this guy knows how to act.
"I'm crazy about you, sweetheart." He added loud enough for Tyler to hear when we were just few feet away from him.
"Alright, I'll see you later then." I tried to pull away from him once we were standing in front of Tyler. I still haven't looked at him as I was freaking out inside. It would be so embarrassing if he finds out I made up the whole thing.
"Woah! Not so soon, baby." Dylan pulled me towards him again, earning a glare from me but he just winked in response.
What the hell, Dylan? What was that wink for? Is it a code word for something?
"I'm gonna miss you so much." He stated, leaning in for a kiss and my eyes went wide in shock. This was not a part of the deal.
Stupid Dylan, stupid Cara and stupid me, for asking such a crazy request!
"I-- I'll miss you too, Dylan." I turned away and patted his shoulders while his lips, thankfully landed on my cheek.
Ew!
I pushed myself away from him forcefully and let out a huge breath of relief.
"I'll call you later," I whispered with an angry glare and he took that as his cue to leave before I could kill him with my death glare.
"See ya, baby." He winked again and walked away, making me mentally groan. I turned around to face Tyler, who was trying so hard not to laugh at the whole drama that unfolded in front of him.
"That's Dylan, my boyfriend. Sorry about that," I laughed, flipping my hair confidently so that he wouldn't find the truth and he cleared his throat before speaking.
"Good for you. Shall we?" he asked, pointing to the library and I nodded in response before following him inside.
The library was fairly crowded with students reading a book or studying and I could feel everyone's eyes on us the moment we walked inside and a few started to whisper.
More attention! Perfect!
"Sometimes I forget that you are our high school royalty," Tyler scoffed as we sat down at the far end of the library away from prying eyes and I gave him a glare.
"I am not royalty. People just happen to like me and I can't be blamed for that." I whispered angrily as I sat down opposite to him and he rolled his eyes at me.
"Whatever, let's just go through the plan we have made so far."
He got down to business immediately and a part of me was disappointed that he didn't want to talk or ask about Dylan.
He must be curious. I mean, after all that bullshit he said about me being into him since he doesn't worship me like the other guys do, he has to be curious.
We went through the plan we had so far and surprisingly, it was productive and we had covered all of the events, games the food stalls to be set up for the fundraiser in our school playground. As discussed, he had taken care of the games and stuff.
"So, I guess we are done with the plan. The next thing is to execute it." I spoke, placing down my pen and he nodded in agreement.
"Yup, we still have two weeks to go. I think we should be fine." He added and was about to collect his things and leave.
What the hell?!
"Umm...wait. We should prepare a checklist of all the tasks. Why don't you write it down and hand it over to me and I'll prepare a final one with both of our tasks." I explained, hoping that he would stay for a little while longer.
"Sure," He smirked and sat down, his eyes not leaving mine and I was transfixed by the way he was looking at me despite him wearing glasses. I remembered the way his brown eyes looked at me the other day in his room and how we were almost about to kiss. I swallowed hard and looked down unable to hold his stare any longer without blushing.
"What?" I asked after a few seconds, without looking up from my notepad when I still felt him eyes on me.
"If you wanted to spend more time with me, all you have to do is just ask me, princess." He replied with a cocky grin and I finally looked up to give him a earful but all of my anger disappeared within seconds when I noticed that he wasn't wearing his glasses anymore.
Holy Fuck!
He looked like a whole different person without glasses and I didn't like the way it made me feel.
Dammit, Tyler. Just put on your dorky glasses. We get it that you look good without them.
"That's not..ugh! Shut up, Tyler. I just want to get the work done." I muttered angrily and looked down at my notepad again. I heard him chuckling in response and as much as I wanted to look at him again and remember every tiny detail of his face without glasses, I decided to ignored him.
There was a long silence between us as we were both working on the checklist. Atleast he was working on them whereas I was simply scribbling on my notepad and stealing glances at him every now and then for the past one hour now. A part of me was mad and disappointed that he didn't ask about Dylan.
Maybe he really doesn't give a fuck about me.
"Alright, I'm done. Here you go," He handed me a piece of paper and I gave it a quick glance before, placing it inside my notepad.
"I'll text you when I am free so that we can start executing the plan." He announced and started to walk away without waiting for my reply.
"Jerk!" I muttered under my breath and started to collect my things to leave as well. I noticed that the library was almost empty now except for one or two students as it was past six in the evening.
I stood up from my seat and flung my backpack on my shoulders, ready to leave. As I was walking past the book shelves to reach the entrance, I felt an arm, grabbing me by my waist from the side. I squeezed my eyes shut in panic and before I could scream, another hand covered my mouth.
Everything happened within a fraction of second and when I opened my eyes, I found myself backed up against one of the bookshelves and there was no one in sight except Tyler Cummings, who was now covering my mouth and looking down at me with a small smirk on his face.
What the hell is he doing here still? I thought he left.
It was an instant deja vu moment for me as I remember the first time when he had me backed up against the bookshelves during our detention. The only difference was, I was scared of him before but now I felt tingles running down my spine as he was still holding me by my waist.
"Quiet." He whispered as he slowly removed his hand from my mouth and I remained silent despite having no idea why he pulled me aside.
"Tyler, what are you.." My voice trailed off as he brushed a piece of my hair away from my face and his fingers caressed my cheeks and they brushed against my lips softly. He leaned a bit closer and I was confident that he was going to kiss me now. I didn't know why he was going to kiss me but I was not going to stop him either. I couldn't stop him both physically and mentally.
I was almost drowning in those deep brown orbs and I flicked my gaze down to his parted lips which were inches away from mine. My heart was thumping against my chest wildly which I'm pretty sure he must have heard by now. Just when I thought he was leaning forward to kiss me, he tilted his head and came closer to my ears.
"This...is how you are supposed to feel when your boyfriend tries to kiss you. Chose wisely, princess." He whispered before letting go of me abruptly and he walked away, this time for real.
What in the flying fuck just happened?!
