We Need to Escape
An abundance of comments flood Mark on social media. A good mix of shippers upset, and crazed fans happy they get their "chance". There is also a mix of comments realizing what's going on. Asking if it's because of Claire being out. Of course the answer being yes, but we can't let the world know that. If everyone knew that was the confirmed reason, then Claire would figure out the plan fairly quickly. Not that there really is a plan. Just staying alive for right now seems to be it until the cops can think of a better one.
"Well?" One officer standing in my half empty living room is staring at me along with Mark. The other officer who is tall is staring out the window talking into his walkie.
"I'm sorry?" Realizing there was a question I regret being lost in my phone reading comments.
"Sorry," Mark walks over and takes a seat next to me. In one swift movement his arm is around me. "She's shaken up about it." I look to and from Mark and the stubby officer that stands in the middle of the room.
"Does she know where you live?" The officer repeats.
I look to Mark and he shrugs his shoulders with a look of uncertainty. "Not to my knowledge..." I answer. "I mean, she shouldn't know, but based on her record right now I wouldn't be surprised if she figured it out. She's pretty good at finding people."
"Yeah," Mark chuckles, "She's been finding me for years," he starts to fully laugh now. His laughs quiet once he realizes no one is laughing with him. "Sorry..."
"Have you ever gotten a restraining order against her, Mr. Fischbach." The same officer asks. The one who was talking on his talkie quickly exits the apartment.
"I...no? I didn't really see any good that would come out of it. Me ignoring her and trying to end things already got someone shot. Getting a restraining order seemed out of the question. I know she's crazy. Frankly, I didn't want to put anyone in danger but my friends insisted I live my life freely."
"Well, that was nice of them. At least thinking of you, regardless of their own well-being."
I'm assuming his partner is the one who contacts him about some code. His walkie goes off and he turns away from us to respond. I can't hear what either are saying.
"I'll be right back." Officer stubby walks out just as quickly has his partner did. I fiddle with my thumbs for a bit since I have nothing more to say. I'm also a little concerned with the fact that they left us alone in a time when we're probably being hunted. I can definitely say I never thought my life would turn out like this with Mark. Then again, I never thought that I wold have a life with Mark. I thought he was out of my life forever and just when I was beginning to be happy on my own he shows up when I least expect it. Not that I'm really complaining. It's been pretty nice with him besides the whole Claire situation. I just wish she'd get a clue, but clearly she has some mental problems she needs to be dealing with.
"You doing okay? With all of this?" Mark pulls me out of my thoughts, per usual. I think for a moment on how to respond. I don't actually know how I'm doing. I haven't really thought about it. A lot has been going on I haven't taken the time to stop and collect it all; process it. Between Grace leaving so unexpectedly, and Claire coming back, I haven't had time to stop and let it all sink in. It just keeps piling itself up and up, which is bad because EVENTUALLY it'll topple and I'll finally break.
"To be honest with you, I actually have no idea how I'm doing. Not good I don't think. A lot has been going on, it's just hard to keep up. Are you doing okay? I mean, it is your crazy ex."
"Well, there is a lot of things I wish I could take back. Unfortunat-" Mark is cut off by both officers barging back into my apartment. They slam the door shut behind them and lock it. They both have their firearms out and by their sides. I feel my heart begin to beat uncontrollably as my mind begins to put different scenarios together. The big one I fear the most, Claire found us.
"What is going on? Is everything okay?!" Mark jumps off the couch and takes a couple steps toward the officers.
"Sir, please stand back. We need you to find a place to hide, or a way to escape. We have some back up on their way to get you out of here. They will be here in a couple of minutes. We are covering the door for you two to get out of here. Not trying to alarm or scare you, but the suspect has been spotted in the building. We aren't sure if she knows what apartment number you're in, so we need you to get out any way you can." The taller officer explains. My heart pumps even faster and harder knowing my biggest fear is confirmed.

It's been a while...again...
I moved again and of course when I had the first paragraph of this chapter written...which was about a week after I moved, my rabbits passed away...
I've had to type it out A LOT and frankly I'm kind of tired of typing it. Its both mentally and physically exhausting. For those of you that follow my YouTube already knew this happened. For those of you that don't but want to know what happened just go look at my YouTube to find the video. You all should already know my YouTube but if you don't I guess just ask.
Anyways, I miss my bunnies a lot and pray they are happier where they are now.
RIP Butters and Steve❤❤ love you bunnies🐇🐰
