During the weekend, Taehyung had to wake up earlier than the usual to accompany his sister to the mall where she would look for a gown to wear for the Prom.

The ravenette was not able to decline as Jennie kept on bugging him until he could no longer do anything but to say yes.

"Come on. Hurry up." Jennie grabbed Taehyung by the arm as the two of them entered one of the shops that she had been eyeing as soon as they were inside the mall.

"Do you even have the money for this stuff?" Taehyung asked.

"Uncle gave me the money." Jennie informed which only earned a look from the ravenette.

Though they received the money from their parents' insurance, it was all allotted for their education and everyday necessities which helped them to get by on their own. From time to time, they would receive money from their uncle who took them in for a while before he migrated with his family abroad.

"Don't tell me you asked him to?" Taehyung asked with an annoyed look on his face.

"I didn't. He called me the other day and we happened to touch the subject. He said he'll send money for my gown and your suit, so just cooperate and get it over with. Okay?" Jennie explained which had Taehyung sighing.

As much as he could, Taehyung would rather not attend than ask his uncle for some cash. Though the guy was kind and would surely give without second thoughts, Taehyung did not want to take advantage of his uncle's kindness.

"I should call him to say thanks, then." He murmured.

"You should." Jennie agreed as she continued to look for the perfect gown.

Taehyung just followed her. He would glance over the suits from time to time, but nothing really appealed to him.

"Are we really going to buy? Shouldn't we just rent? It's just a one time thing, so buying would be impractical." Taehyung suggested as Jennie started picking the gowns of her choice for fitting.

"Let's just look around first. If we couldn't find anything we want, we'll just rent. Is that good?" Jennie said as she went inside one of the fitting rooms while Taehyung sat on the stool nearby.

"Okay." Taehyung mumble. He took his phone out to check for his messages while he waited for his sister to finish.

There was a text from Jungkook which instantly made him smile.

Bunny 🐰: Call me when you arrive home. Enjoy but always be safe. ily 💜

He immediately typed a reply, still smiling.

Okay. ilyt 💜

Taehyung quickly slid his phone back in his pants when he heard Jennie calling him to look at the first gown she fitted.

It was an emerald ball gown with halter neckline that framed Jennie's petite physique.

"What do you think?" She asked as she turned around.

"Too princessy." Taehyung commented which made Jennie roll her eyes.

"Is that a good thing or not?" She asked, looking at Taehyung with expectant eyes.

"Depends." Taehyung responded. He heard Jennie groan before shutting the door close while he just silently laughed.

Jennie tried a couple more gown before the two of them decided to check other shops. It took them another hour, but she still failed to buy what she wanted.

By lunch time, they stopped to eat at a fast-food restaurant for about half an hour before proceeding to checking the rental shops near the area.

Since Jennie was having a hard time choosing, she insisted to let Taehyung look for his suit first, and the ravenette just go with it. He's getting tired from going back and forth, and all he wanted now was to go home and lay his back on his bed.

Jennie on the other hand was still full of energy. Girls really are on a different level when it comes to shopping.

"Try this." Jennie handed Taehyung a bluish-gray which he immediately took.

"It's the closest to your size. Let's just cross our fingers it would fit. If not, we'll just have ours tailor made." She added which had Taehyung scowling.

"Wouldn't that be even more expensive?" He asked, reluctant.

"Uncle sent a lot of money for this. He wanted me to send a picture of us during the Prom. I don't want him to think we didn't use the money to what it's intended for." Jennie clarified.

All Taehyung could do was sigh in defeat as he entered the fitting room. He started to strip and get changed when he noticed that the suit had a bit of a run on the sleeve.

"This won't do. There's a run on the sleeve." He called out as he started removing the suit.

"Let me see." Jennie suddenly drew the curtain, revealing Taehyung's bare torso. It was too late for the ravenette to react when Jennie stared at that particular area he did not want her to see.

"Is that a tattoo?" She asked in a tone that made Taehyung bite his lip.

He did not try to hide it anymore as Jennie glared at him.

"Did you seriously get a tattoo done, Kim Taehyung?" She repeated.

"Yeah... I don't see anything wrong with it." He reasoned out which eared a scowl from his sister.

"There's really nothing wrong with it except that you hid it from me." Jennie uttered which made Taehyung sigh.

"I don't see the reason why I should tell you every little thing. I'm not a kid." He argued as he gazed at her.

In that brief moment that their eyes met, Taehyung saw something in her eyes that made him want to take back his words.

But even before he could speak, Jennie already has her back on him.

"Okay..." She whispered before stepping out of the fitting room.

"We're not getting that one. Let's just have ours tailor made." She added before closing the curtain again, leaving Taehyung sighing.

As the Prom was fast approaching, the student council members and the student volunteers had been busy while the rest of the students were already enjoying their vacation.

Taehyung and his friends ended up volunteering as imposed by Yoongi, a quite shocking turn of event for all of them.

Yoongi was never the person to force them to join an activity, let alone volunteer to help set up an event.

However, Taehyung already knew the reason for the other's sudden act of volunteerism. He wanted to keep an eye on what's rightfully his.

And Taehyung could relate to him at such an extent which explained why he did not hesitate to support Yoongi's suggestion that led to all of them waking up early to be in school instead of enjoying their summer vacation.

"Tae! Could you help me pin this up there?" Chaeyoung called out which had Taehyung running to her direction.

After she learned that Taehyung and his friends volunteered, she did not hesitate to volunteer as well.

"Just up there?" Taehyung asked as he took the cutouts and started plotting them on the curtain.

"Here?" He looked at Chaeyoung who nodded.

"A bit higher." She instructed before handing him the pins.

"It's good to have a tall friend." She commented which had Taehyung chuckling.

"Anytime." He answered with his back on her. He was focusing on pinning the cutouts when he heard her voice once more.

"By the way, is Jungkook going to be your date for the Prom?" Chaeyoung asked as Taehyung finished the task.

"Yeah.." He answered, reluctant as he was a bit shy.

"That's so cute. I can't wait to see you both be looking fab and perfect." She beamed and all Taehyung could do was laugh.

"Do you have a suit already?" She asked while they headed to help the others who were in charge of the lights and other decors.

"I had it made the other day. I could probably get it by Monday." Taehyung responded.

He looked around and caught sight of Jungkook who was helping Hoseok set up the speakers with two other friends.

Taehyung darted his eyes around once more and saw Jennie doing the decors on the stage.

This made him smile in relief. So far, he's liking what's happening.

"I can't wait! You should let me take a picture of you by then." Chaeyoung said which caught his attention back again.

"I'll think about it." Taehyung winked, teasing the other who just pouted.

The ravenette could only laugh before agreeing. He excused himself to go to Jungkook who was clearly having a laugh with his friends.

"Hey." Taehyung approached, tapping Jungkook by the shoulder.

He saw him smile as soon as he turned to look at him.

"Hey." Jungkook greeted. His hand automatically reached out to settle on the dip of Taehyung's back.

"Want to grab lunch?" Taehyung asked, eyes not leaving the blond's own.

"Sure. I'll just finish this quick. Will you be okay waiting for me?" Jungkook asked which made Taehyung smile.

"Of course. I'll wait for you in the cafeteria." Taehyung promised to which Jungkook smiled.

"Okay." Jungkook leaned to kiss the other but quickly stopped when he remembered his friends were all staring at them.

Taehyung and him had a talk the other day about preventing a public display of affection as much as they could. He did not want him to feel awkward with all those eyes on them.

Jungkook cleared his throat as he let Taehyung leave. He'll just probably get his kiss on their way home.

"Aren't you going to ask us to have lunch with the two of you, too?" Hoseok teased which earned a snicker from Jungkook.

"Animals are not allowed." Jungkook uttered with a grin that made Hoseok jump at him.

"Say that again, you shit." Hoseok grinned, jokingly choking Jungkook who struggled to get away.

"Stop it. Let's just finish everything, so I could join Taehyung." The blond said as Hoseok finally released him.

"Fine. You finish those on the stage. I'll do the rest." Hoseok suggested.

Jungkook went ahead with Eunwoo following behind. Few of the student council members including Jennie were decorating near the area, so he had to excuse himself before setting up the ladder.

"Sorry for interrupting." Jungkook said as Eunwoo held the ladder to steady it before he climbed up.

"It's okay." Jennie answered as she and the others watched Jungkook check the speakers and its wirings.

As he extended his arm and reached up, his shirt lifted up, unware that he's already giving the students a sneak peek of his toned abs.

Few of them started murmuring in an attempt to hide their appreciation of the sight before them. Their eyes were on his exposed abs including Jennie.

But that was not what caught Jennie's attention.

It was the tattoo that caught her eyes.

The same tattoo Taehyung has.
