Kimmon's POV
We all agreed to bring only two cars to the beach, my car and Tee's. Bas was gonna ride with me and the others with Tee. I don't even know if Copter was coming along. I dared not ask Tee and I told Bas not to ask either.
We converged in the parking lot of a local supermarket at six a.m. We had to start our trip early because it was a good two and a half hours drive to the beach, and besides we still had to stop by the local supermarket to buy loads of ice to fit into our giant cooler. We planned to buy bottled water, soda and beer. We also planned to buy some beef and giant squids to grill and several big bags of potato chips and cheese puffs and assorted nuts.
Bas and I arrived at the parking lot first. In less than a minute we saw Tee's car approaching. Tee parked his car right beside mine. My heart jumped to my throat when I saw Copter climb out of Tee's car. He was wearing a pair of gray shorts and a plain white tee. It took herculean effort to keep myself from rushing up to him and envelope him lovingly in my arms.
Bas and I approached P'Tae and Tee and Copter. I said hi to everyone. I looked at Copter and his eyes met mine. "Hi, Cop" I said, "glad you could join us." I smiled at him and he smiled back. I thanked the highest heavens that he smiled back at me! We then all proceeded to go inside the supermarket to buy the stuff we needed.
P'Tae said that he had already called the beach resort yesterday and had already booked a cottage for us.
After we had made sure that we had bought everything on the list, we all walked back to our cars. I noticed that one of the bags of potato chips was starting to fall out from the bag that Copter was carrying. I moved swiftly to keep it from falling and adjusted its position inside the grocery bag. Copter said thanks in a soft shy voice. "No problem," I said with a smile. I noticed that Tee was looking at me with eagle eyes.
Copter's POV
As P'Tee drove his car into the supermarket parking lot, I recognized P'Kim's car already parked there. When he saw our car approaching he and Bas got out of his car to meet us. He was wearing olive green shorts and a black shirt. He was also wearing a pair of sunglasses that made him look extra handsome. His arms were crossed in front of him in a way that made his biceps bulge. My poor smitten heart was jumping crazily all over my chest.
I got out of the car and stayed close to P'Tee. As if sensing that I needed his moral support he lightly placed his arms across my shoulder. Bas and P'Kim greeted us and I saw P"Kim smile at me. "Glad you could make it," he said casually. I smiled back at him but my hand was clutching P'Tee's elbow firmly.
We all entered the supermarket together. P'Tee and I had been assigned to buy the finger foods and the soda. P'Tae had taken over the responsibility of purchasing the beer and bottled water and the bags of ice. Bas and P'Kim hurried over to the meat and seafood section to buy the giant squids and beef for grilling.
We loaded everything into one grocery cart, but because there was a lot of stuff, we could no longer fit the grocery bag that contained the bags of potato chips and assorted nuts and cheese puffs into the cart. I carried the grocery bag in my arms instead.
As we were walking back to the car, I regretted that I tried to fit all the finger foods in one grocery bag. As a result, one of the bags of potato chips was jutting out precariously from the grocery bag. In the next second it started to fall out of the grocery bag. Before it could drop to the ground P'Kim had quickly moved to catch it. I stood still as he adjusted its position inside the bag, making sure that it would not threaten to fall again.
I voiced my thanks and he said "No problem," accompanied with the sweetest smile that I had seen him flash so far in all the time that I had known him. I felt my resolve starting to falter but then I felt P'Tee discreetly touch my elbow as if to remind me that he was there if I needed him.
