Frisk is gender fluid in this book(right now they don't identify as a boy or girl) and they are about 12.

Frisk's POV:

"Hey (y/n) do you ever wish what it's like underground with the monsters?" I ask while I sit at the lunch table with my best friend (y/n).

"Sometimes." they reply.

"Sometimes?"

"Well Frisk, I don't obsess over it like you."

"I don't obsess over it!"

"Say that to the five thousand books in your room."

"I guess your right.."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset.."

"No, I'm sorry for bringing up the subject."

"How about we go to m-"

Ring Ring Ring

"It's time to go outside" I said

"Why so gloomy? Come on!"

(Y/ n) grabs my hand as we race out of the cafeteria door.
I stumble a couple of times but keep my balance. It seemed like forever, until they stop by the swings and hopped on one. Using their legs to push up from the ground. I watch them for a couple of minutes until I decide i don't want to look stupid just watching them like that. I get onto the swing, day dreaming.

"Frisk! Frisk!! Frisk!!"

A hand waves over my eyes as I snap out of my day dream. I look at them annoyed.

"What?!"

"Whoa, no reason to get mad. The bell rang."

"Oh, than thanks I guess?"

We walk back to the hallway of our school, then go our separate ways. Great I have math...
I walk back into class, and sit down at my desk.

It was just one great big blur, but as usual, I day dreamed the whole time.

Ring Ring Ring. Time for language arts...

I was upset, I couldn't get away with doing nothing in this class. I did like school. But I was just so interested in monster history. The worse part was that they don't teach it here. The time they did talk about it was in fourth grade, and they just mentioned that monsters lived on the surface with us. Then there was a war. Then we won, and trapped monsters underground.

Anyways we have to read a book in language arts called 'Chasing Lincoln's Killer' and we had to write down notes about it in the process....

~Time Skip~

Ring Ring Ring. Time for Band...

I walked there as fast as I could, this is my favorite part of school. But I also get pushed around there the most. They make fun of how I can still see with my eyes closed.... they said it was unnatural. And asked me why can't I just open my eyes. The truth is when I open my eyes I can't see, it's all just blackness. The only problem is that I'm color blind, I only see in black and white.

~Time Skip~

Ring Ring Ring. Finally! Schools over. I go to the back room and put my instrument away. I'm the first one to get out the band door. With my backpack I wait for (y/ n) by the flag pole.

After about ten minutes later, (y/n) still isn't here.

"Boo!"

"Ahh!!" I scream as I fall onto my butt.

"Haha!"

"Hey!" I say as I get up to face (y/ n)

"Haha!!"

"What was that for?!!?"

"Ha s-haha-sorry" they say wiping away tears

"Ill get you back for this"

"Knowing you, I knew you probably would"

"Anywase let's get going"

"Sounds good to me!"

We start walking to the park. We usually part our ways after that. (Y/ n) starts to talk.

"As I was saying At lunch before I got interrupted. Is that we should go hike mount Ebott. My mom let's me do it all the time. I even did it yesterday."

"Are you sure? I don't think my mom would let me."

"Just say your coming with me to the park. Ill tell my mom that to so they'll both think we're at the park!"

"I'm not so sure..."

"Come on Frisk!! You always like going on adventures, and when's the last time we went on one?"

"Last year, when they finally found out we didn't go to the park, and we were actually at the river."

"But it's not like we did anything bad-"

"You forced me to break a bird's neck."

"Okay maybe that. But still.."

"Fine. But we would have to be back by nightfall."

"Yay! Okay!"

We finally made it to the park.

"Okay don't forget to tell your mom!" (Y/ n) yells as they run the way to their house.

"I won't!" I yell back

They give me a thumbs up before they disappear from my vision as they go behind a wall. I sigh and shake my head.
I feel something hit my nose. As I look up at the sky, I notice it starts to rain. I walk over to a bench at the park, and set my backpack on it. I unzip it and get my umbrella out. My mom bought it for me. She said it was 'pink'. I wonder what pink looks like. Mom says I can see faint blue and red when I explained stuff to her. So every once in a while I could see some color.

The rain starts to get heavier, and put up my umbrella so i wouldn't get wet.

~Time Skip~

I unlock the door with my key and put down my umbrella as I walk into the house. And I take off my sneakers, since they got soaking wet. I go upstairs into my room and set everything down. I look out the window and it's pouring rain.

"Glad I had an umbrella with me. I hope (y/ n) didn't get caught in that."

I go downstairs and see mom in the livingroom, watching television.

"Mom can I talk with you?"

"Sure, what's the matter?"

" I was wondering if I could go to the park with (y/ n) tomorrow."

"..?"

"It won't be like last time, I promise!"

"Okay, I trust you!" She ruffles my hair.

"Thanks mom!"

~ Time Skip to morning~

I wake up and rub the sleep out of my eyes. Once i register what's happening. I jump out of bed and get dressed. I picked out a loose shirt, I could tell it was faintly blue, and I got out black pants, and my sneakers, which were still kind of wet.

~Time Skip to after school~

It started raining again so I got out my umbrella, as i waited for (y/ n) at the flag pole.

~Yes, another one~

I got home and got ready. Since i was pretty sure it was gonna rain again I changed into a striped sweater, I could see it had some blue in it, back leggings, some really short jean shorts, and rain boots. I still wasn't so sure about going. (Y/ n) was acting weird and violent today. Just in case something happens I pack a first aid kit. And for extreme measures, a knife. I also packed a blue jacket, its the only jacket that has color from me, some food for us, and an umbrella. I walk down stairs and tell my mom I'm going.

"I'm going to the park now!"

"Okay- whoa. Why all the stuff in the backpack?"

But I was already out the door.

I walked to the park and waited for (y/ n) I found a really long branch on the way. It was taller than me. And I'm pretty tall for my age.

"Hey Frisk!"

"Oh, hey (y/ n)!"

"Lets get going!"

"Okay!"

~stop getting upset about these~

We were towards the top of the mountain, the sun was setting.

"(Y/ n) we should get going back, it's almost nightfall."

"Come on! We're almost there!"

"What do you want to show me?"

"Its a surprise!"

"Ugh, I'm hungry."

"Fine let's take a brake."

We sit down and face each other as we eat. Somethings wrong with (y/ n) they've been acting weird and their eyes are red. Maybe that normal, I don't know.

After we're done eating we get up and start walking again.
We finally made it to the top of the mountain, and I'm relieved.

"What do you want to show me?"

They walk over to a huge ravine and point down.

"Did you know the monsters live down their, so close yet so far away."

"Really?" I say as I walk over their with my stick and look down. It goes down forever, I can't see the bottom of it.

"Hey Frisk I have another surprise for you!"

"Really what?"

I say as I turn around. My mouth drops open as I see (y/ n) with a knife.

"Why did you bring this?" They ask as they walk towards me.

"......"

"Come on. Just tell me!" They say as they laugh.

They start running towards me as I back up and trip over the edge.

"Ahh!!"

I don't fall over though. (Y/ n) grabs the other end of the stick.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

" It's o-"

They throw something and I feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I look down and I see red blood stain my sweater. I'm still holding onto the stick for dear life.

"Bye-Bye Frisk" they say as they smile, and snap the stick in half.

I fall over the edge screaming.

"(Y/ n)!!!!!!"

Next thing I know I hit the ground and black out....
