Chapter 4: The Party

Anuenue met up with her father, King Stoick, in the royal throne room. He was sitting on his throne, waiting for his beloved daughter, his precious jewel.

When the king saw his daughter come in a big grin replaced the bored and nonchalant one he had on earlier. His daughter, his precious jewel, looked absolutely amazing!

She was wearing a high-low, heart lined, sleeveless dress of white with blue clouds at the bottom. Tied around her waist was a blue ribbon that was knotted into a big bow at the back. Her hair was in an updo with musical note pins to keep it up. The Princess wore no make up for she didn't need it. She wore no shoes or sandals, just her bare feet. Bracelets and anklets adorned her wrists and ankles while a big heart necklace hung from her neck. Yes, the Princess was indeed beautiful!

"Nue!" the king said, standing up from his mighty throne, "You look stunning!"

Anuenue giggled "I know, father, you tell me that whenever we have one of these parties."

"Well, are you ready? Everyone's already partying, waiting for you!" her father stuck out his arm for her to take.

Anuenue wrapped her arm around her father's. She let him guide her to the ball room, also know as the ball room, which was HUMONGOUS! From afar they heard the loud and joyful music along with laughter and the loud beating of dancing feet.

King Stoick stopped right before the doors of the ball room. He faced his daughter and gripped her shoulders. The father had a look of seriousness on his face which, to be frank, intimidated his daughter. He never had a face like that on!

"Nue, I'm going to ask you something very important and you have to do it, okay?" King Stoick spoke in a gentle and slow voice like he was talking to an actual kid. Anuenue, not knowing how to respond, nodded in response.

~Blitz's POV~

I was chilling in a corner during the Princess' welcome back party. Everyone was happy, dancing and singing along with one another while I was calm and cool-headed. In case you didn't know, which you didn't, I was assigned to "protect" the citizens from any "intruders" which is why I was in the corner interacting with no one. I honestly don't see the point in that!

No one has EVER been able to get through the cave, the forest, or its creatures and discover the kingdom and live to tell the tale! Well, no one but me that is.

Yeah. I'm not a 116, I'm a 96. Number 96: Black Mist. I've been in this kingdom my whole life and well, to be frank, it's great here. The people are nice, the music is fantastic, and the place itself is beautiful. It's a hella lot better than where I used to live before I came here.

I noticed that it suddenly got quiet and everyone stopped dancing. I looked over to the open doors of the ball room to see the Princess and the King standing in the doorway. The Princess had her arms wrapped around one of her father's arms.

I'm just being honest here but the Princess looked beautiful in her get up. Her father on the other hand looked like he didn't even try! He wore a bright red tunic and purple trousers with mitch matching boots; one was brown and the other was black. I'm gonna say that was hilarious!

The whole crowd laughed at the King's get up, even I did! And guess what? All the king did was laugh along with us! That was the kind of king he was and everyone loved him for it!

After some time the laughter died down and the Princess and the King were formally introduced to the party as was tradition. They were horns and then the loud guy who always does this kind of shizz announced them then the party continued.

Everyone was laughing and dancing and singing again. The King was in the middle of the dance floor showing off his dance moves while the Princess was being crowded by all these guys of the kingdom. This usually happened to the Princess during the parties. I could tell that it made her feel uncomfortable and that it bothered her by her expression and how she always edged away from the boys until she was saved by her mother, father, or that annoying mutt of hers. I kinda felt bad for her but meh. It's not my problem.

As for me I stayed in my comfy corner watching everyone as usual. As I said before, I was supposed to guard and make sure that no one got hurt or no one died or was trying to kill the royal family. So far everything was okay, no one got hurt or injured and no fights broke out as of yet.

It was all hunky dory as far as the eye could see like every other party that happened in this kingdom. Eventually I got bored and walked outside into the castle gardens where I knew no one would go since they all loved to stay inside and party, talk or whatever.

I walked to the pond that was hidden away from view in the garden. This place as super convenient for me since no one could see it from the windows of the ball room or bother me here. It was far enough to block out some of the noise from the party but also close enough in case something should happen when I'm not there.

The pond was surrounded by grass and some flowers here and there. It was also surrounded by a ring of trees which made the people not seeing me here a lot easier. There was a pleasant and calm atmosphere whenever I came to this pond no matter what happened.

I sat at the ponds edge and dipped my feet into the water. It was cold but I rather liked it. It was refreshing, even woke me up. I looked up at the sky which was full of the stars that I gazed at for so long. The moon was no where to be seen though probably because it was a new moon.

All I did for most of the night was sit there. It was relatively quiet save for the constant beat coming from the party. Unfortunately that silence wouldn't last for long. Sometime during the party someone left and was now in the garden like I was.

Whoever this person was, she was humming. I could tell it was a female by the pitch of her voice even though she was humming. A few words escaped from here here and there but I could hardly understand them since she was so quiet.

As time moved on and the party grew quieter but was still pretty loud the girl seemed to gain confidence in herself and actually began to sing. This time I could understand her words. She was singing a song about people in love or something with love.

Eventually I got curious as to who this person was. In all my years here I've never heard her voice and let me tell you this: EVERYONE in this kingdom sings a solo at any kind of event in this kingdom multiple times at some point in time! And it happens A LOT. So not knowing who this voice belonged or the voice not having a familiar ring to it kinda made me curious. It also made me paranoid! WHY? Because that could person be an intruder!

I got up from my spot on the grass and peeked behind one of the trees surrounding the pond. And much to my surprise the person who was singing was the Princess! Her back was facing me but I could still tell that it was her. How? Well, I just can.

Now that I think about it I don't ever remember the Princess singing at any event. Which was weird since ALL of the royal family, even their cousins and relatives, sing! Heck, this whole entire kingdom sings! To not sing here would make you an outcast!

I was about to approach the Princess when it happened. She grew silent as a ear piercing scream came from the ball room. And then everything went quiet.

The kingdom of Harmony was silent.
