The aroma of the rice coming from the boiler was amazing. Adeelah suddenly felt like she was hungry.
"The rice smells nice." One of the students commented her thought as they walked about the rice industry. They had to know everywhere before they begin work.
El-mustapha then joined them at their back. They kept walking around with a supervisor.
"There in the boiler, the rice is parboiled. The essence is to prolong the shelf life of the rice, to make it ready to eat too. To reduce the chalkiness of the rice and it's tendency to break. It boils for one hour. From here, it goes into the dryer..." The man explained to them. They could hardly hear him due to the loudness of the machines.
The man said that was brief introduction and tomorrow real work will start especially in their field of study. They all nodded and were about to disperse when they heard Adeelah talking in high voice.
A worker was watering the lawns that led the way to guests room when he poured water on her skirt.
"What's happening here?" El-mustapha stepped in. Adeelah looked at him and swallowed something.
"He poured water on my clothes." She answered. Other students rolled their eyes. They thought it was something serious with the way she talked.
El-mustapha looked at him. The man began apologizing right away.
"You apologize to my workers because my workers are very important to me. They are the backbone to the company's success. Miss Adeelah apologize to Malam Kawu." Adeelah looked at him twice. He was revenging obviously. Well she would show him who the fool was.
"Oh I am the low one here. Sorry Malam Kawu. I am hungry, you know a hungry man is an angry man huh?" She laughed. The man was stunned. He shook his head, showing his pleasure.
"Let me help you with the watering can around. It seems like employers don't have mercy to help you free of charge. You're too old for this work. If only I am rich I would've been paying you without you working for me." She spoke, looking at El-Mustapha from the sides of her eyes. She knew he's got the message.
"No Hajiya..." The old man smiled.
"Please allow me Baba. I am your daughter." When she insisted and he refused and she knew the man was clearly afraid of the CEO, she removed a thousand note from her bag and gave him.
"Help yourself for transport then." She watched El-Mustapha hiss and leave the place. She smiled in gleam and left. She was walking when she heard Salisu's voice. He was talking with a female worker. She didn't know how it happened but she felt her blood temperature rising.
How dare him? She didn't know.
It sounded funny. How many men was she talking to? She didn't remember that. All she remembered was Salisu laughing with someone and she hated him for that. She mean he's not supposed to.

Yar Tsana called Ammar when all the girls staying in her house had leave for business. The dirty business she was once in. She's no longer into the business unless she felt lonely. The ladies in her house all paid her rents and that was a huge amount.
Ammar arrived minutes later after her call. He had been stunned with her. Mabroukah.
"Ya Allah, I think you've to go back. Baba and Mama went out urgently and you know it's not right for us to stay alone. Ya rabb, I didn't plan this." Ammar smiled.
"Mabroukah, listen. Nothing will happen. It has never happened. I have never touched a girl's hand and it won't start from you." She seemed convinced. If only he knew it was a lie. She served him food and water saying their drinks gave out.
"So which university did you attend?" Yar Tsana scratched her nape. University? She had never attended one but one could swore she schooled at the States, her accent was too good.
"Unmm. You know... Baba hired a teacher for me..."
"Oh wow aside going to the university you have a lesson lecturer? Superb. Your CGPA must be high."
Cjeepa... That must be a new model car. She grinned.
"Yeah I schooled at Cambridge University, Paris. You need to see the Burj Khalifah in Paris. It's so lovely." Ammar was confused.
Cambridge,
Paris,
Burj Khalifah.
All in one place? Wow. Was she lying? Or what?
"But I am confused. You said Paris... And mentioned Burj Khalifah."
Yar Tsana widened her eyes. She hoped she didn't make a goof. "So many things on my mind. That's why."
Ammar grimaced. "Oh I see."
She didn't like the look on his face now. She decided to talk again and shoot her shot. She might be lucky.
"About the cjeepa I am thinking of asking Baba to buy the car for me. I heard it's sleek." Ammar nearly sank onto the cushion he was sitting on. He couldn't believe she was saying all those. He was embarrassed on her behalf.
He ran his hand on his face. "I think I need to go." With the look on his face, she knew she had lost it. But she wouldn't let him go. She asked him to excuse her. She went into her room and opened her drawer. She removed some pills and came back. He was pressing his phone and so he missed the time she dropped the pills in the water he drank. They dissolved completely and immediately.
"Sip some water then." He didn't oblige. He drank it right way. In less than ten minutes he felt his body emanating a new feeling. Yar Tsana smiled wickedly. She rose to her feet and asked to escort him out.
She touched his hand. Ammar removed his hand and looked at her. She was so beautiful. He couldn't deny that.
He wanted to leave but it happened faster than he imagined. He almost fell for her trap. With no word, he scrambled out feeling as if he was a fool. Deep down he thanked Allah for escaping the trap. And one thing was, he knew it wasn't either his or Mabroukah's fault. It was the devil. And he wasn't even successful. Ammar knew Mabroukah was a nice girl.
When Ammar went out, Yar Tsana smiled. Mission one, almost accomplished. Even if she died today, she would feel satisfied. For, she had done something that excited her. But she would need more days, to have Ammar caged in her evil. Then she would be ever ready to face whatever coming karma.

"El-mustapha Kabo was born on twentieth of August, twenty nine years back. Some investigation showed that his birth year was changed in the court for an unknown reason. It was changed when he was a year old. Record of the initial year wasn't left. No traces left after that. He attended his primary school in Coventry..." The man shook his head.
"Have you tried to find out why his birth year was changed?" The man in suit asked his friends.
"We did and there was no trace. It was said that the Lawyer was found dead in his residence two days after. No one cared because it was a silent death." He listened carefully.
Something must be fishy. And for a very known barrister, the case wasn't supposed to be brushed off.
"Have you asked his wife? If she's still alive?" Al'amin shook his head.
He loved working and loved this case particularly because he was a very curious person and he loved to know things.
"I will assign my wife, Barrister Aalima Khalifah to apply for work in the house. As a house help. Perhaps she will help us get the information we need."
The man in suit nodded. He loved working with Al'amin, Al'amin didn't ask him questions and he's thankful for that. He didn't know he was the late President's son. He's a nice person and willing to work. Al'amin was doing it for his own benefit too. It would help him as a government security officer.
Moreso, Sir Muhammad M. was his bosom friend who had helped him a lot when he was in the office.
"Thank you Al'amin." They shook hands and both men left their meeting points.

Ameer decided to go and see Hidaya. He had branched to his mother and greet her. Since the incidence, they hadn't meet. She was also hurt by what happened from all indications.
"Allah plans and His is the best." He told her hen she began to weep over the lost of the unborn child. Ameer's heart broke at the sight of her. He consoled her and left for Hidaya's house feeling drained.
He was well received because he met her father sitting by the entrance reading his Quran. He was so much focused that when he made a salam he didn't hear till the third time. Ameer had shaken his head. He thought Hidaya was a replica of her father but now he knew better. The man didn't deserve his children. But that was his destiny and his own test.
Hidaya's Mama also welcomed him. She was tired of seeing Hidaya with her, with no status. Married or divorced. When he was left with Hidaya, he croaked.
"You aborted the pregnancy, didn't you?" Hidaya remained quiet. She didn't but she didn't know what was stopping her from talking.
Ameer let out a dry laugh that showed his immense anger. "You planned to steal my car. Am I right?"
Hidaya casted her eyes down. Tears tripped down to her face. She didn't know about all he was saying.
Her quietness confirmed his suspicions. He felt resentment towards her. He could smash her face with a slap.
"You're supposed to be talking Hidaya! Defend yourself!" She tried to talk.
"Ameer..."
"Don't Ameer me. Tell me the truth!"
"Sweethea—" she tried again.
"Sweetheart my foot. I divorce you Hidaya!" He released the bomb. Hidaya could swear she heard her heart shattering into pieces. Was this not what she wanted? Here she got it but it broke her. Ameer looked at her oncemore before he exited the parlor and bade Mama bye. He could hear Hidaya wailing after he went out.
He didn't pity her. She wanted his downfall and he had nothing to do with her that way.
The world to him seemed clogged and packed. Everything was suffocating and the most annoying thing was he didn't know what he was feeling. He couldn't pinpoint anything.
Suddenly he felt happy. No, mixed emotions. He had Adeelah. This was hee time. He had to rush. He called her.
Thereafter he called the police. To arrest Hidaya's brother.
*****
"I knew it. I told you and you were not believing me. Are you convinced? I think you've to forget about Hidaya and move on." He listened to Aisha's voice ramble. He's convinced but something with her didn't sit well with him. He didn't like her. So when he finished the call, he blocked her and made a mental note on never to answer a strange number.
But another call came through. He didn't pick. He checked his mails and saw a mail from ElKab rice. They wanted an advert in the radio station he worked.
They were inquiring about the process and payments. If possible they wanted to establish a contract with them. The news elated him. That's business and huge money.
And to say they wanted him to do the work, elated him more. So they scheduled that, he would go and see the company himself at Abuja. He would use his nice tongue and convince people to buy.
Ameer had been grinning.
He was going to Abuja the next seven days. And they sent him money to buy a ticket. And accommodation address. He called their boss and informed him. He gave him the go ahead. Part of the radio station style was to share some percentages of adverts with the worker that brought the customers.
The famous ElKab rice wanted to advertise with them. Lord. Adeelah was there too. Killing two birds with one stone. That's beautiful.
