CHAPTER 32 - A double C

I  updated again.. In less than 24 hours...Whoohooo...

Do you remember me telling getting all worked up about a chap. Well, this is it. This is the touughest til date; It took me so long to finally get the guts to write it.

Now, it's my favorite chap of this story. Please do tell me what you think about this. I am very nervous.

Enough of my senseless talk.. Have fun reading :p

---

Karthik was ecstatic with his idea. He wasn't aware that it will be six months since his marriage to Sindhu until Ravi pointed out to him one day. Though it felt weird planning a six-month wedding anniversary, he realized that this is it. This is his chance to do something special for his wife.

Sindhu had put up with his worst and now he is going to show her, his best; his true loving self.

He decided to follow Tulasi's advice and let everything go the way it has to; he will try to make it as comfortable as possible for Sindhu. And if he feels that she's not ready, he will let it go.

He called his mother-in-law and told her about his 'surprise celebration' plan. She agreed to help him and immediately called Sindhu to accompany her for shopping just as he told her to.

Sindhu loves shopping and will not be able to say 'No' to it. However, he was surprised when she asked his permission to go out.

"Do you want to go?" he asked, trying to hide the fact that he already knew everything.

She nodded making him question softly "Then why are you asking me?"

"Because you are my husband and—um—you don't like me spending money uselessly"

He frowned "I don't care about money now. In fact, I never did. It was only because--- ugh--- let's leave it. You can go"

"Really?"

That same question again?

"Yes. You can go with your mother. Now call her before she thinks you are not interested" he replied with a smile.

The smile that she gave, after hearing him was enough to make him forget everything; all his hard work of requesting his PM to let him stay at home who didn't agree because of the project deadlines. It was only after he assured him that he will work from home, he agreed. He has to plan everything when she's away while also attending work calls.

The next morning before she left to shopping, he gave his credit card to her.

"It's OK. I have money" she replied, not taking his card.

He took her hand and placed his card on her palm "Take it"

"But, I might end up buying a lot and ---"

"It's fine. Buy whatever you want to" he said softly.

"Are you sure with this?" she asked, looking at him doubtfully.

When he nodded with a smile, she threw her arms around him kissing his cheek "Thanks"

He beamed seeing her reaction "It's nothing"

When she stared at him, not making an attempt to pull back, he started slowly "I think you should leave. You have an hour and half journey ahead"

She pulled back trying to avoid his gaze "You are right. Bye then"

"How are you going by the way?" he asked, suddenly remembering that she didn't have a vehicle.

"I am going to take an auto from here and then find a bus---"

"Take the car. It will be easy to go to different shops"

She looked up to him "What about you? How will you go to office if I took--"

"I will take my bike" he lied, going towards the keys stand before giving the car keys to her.

"Thanks. I will leave then. Bye" she said, looking a bit disappointed.

She doesn't want to leave me just like I don't want to leave her every morning. He smiled inwardly knowing that she'll miss him just like he will.

She gave an awkward wave saying 'bye' and left the house making him sigh in relief. He didn't like lying to her but this is the only way to plan a surprise. He can't do the arrangements with her in the house.

Sindhu's mother was already present when she reached GVK mall and soon both were immersed in their clothes selection and trials.

"Are you sure you want to buy that?" Her mother asked, looking at a bizarre looking top with a skull figure at the center of it.

"Yes mom. It's cool"

"What will your husband say if he ----"

"Mom, he will be ok. He never says anything about what I wear"

"Oh.. It's good then. Most men want their wives to dress up the way they want to"

"I know. He said I can wear anything I like. He is just like dad. So cool to be with"

Her mother smiled "We are lucky to find world's best husbands then"

She grinned "I agree"

They went to a retail clothing showroom from the Mall where her mother checked out Sarees while Sindhu simply gave suggestions. She missed being with Karthik. With his project deadlines coming near, he's busy and coming late to home.

After thinking a lot, she excused herself from her mother and called him.

"Hello" Karthik's voice made her realize how much she missed him and she felt sad.

"Um.. It's me"

She heard a sigh followed by his voice "Yeah, tell me"

"Are you busy?" she asked slowly, hoping she didn't disturb him.

He chuckled "As a matter of fact, I am. Why?"

"Nothing. I just wanted to hea—tell you that I have spent a lot of your money" She lied, hoping he didn't catch the word she almost blurted.

She heard him laugh "That's ok. Have fun"

"Um OK"

After a few seconds of silence, she heard his deep breath followed by his soft voice "Sindhu.."

She hummed in response, not saying a word when he added "I miss you too"

A goofy smile lit her face hearing him and she didn't know what to revert back. After what felt like an eternity, she finally asked "You do?"

"Yes. Now go back to your mom and continue what you were doing"

"Right. Bye then"

After disconnecting the call, Karthik resumed chopping vegetables. He wished she isn't home until 7 PM so that it would give him enough time to do everything he wanted to. And luckily, that's exactly what happened.

He got a message from his mother-in-law at 5.45 PM that Sindhu started back and he checked to make sure everything's done.

Sindhu reached her house at 7.15 PM. Before she could get the keys from her handbag, the door opened revealing her husband.

She was surprised seeing him early but what surprised her more is a dark house.

"Why haven't you switched on the lights?" She asked, with a frown looking confused.

He had a mischievous smile as he answered "Surprise"

"Having no lights ON is a surprise?" she asked with an amused smile.

He chuckled "No, not that. Now leave your shopping bags here and close your eyes"

"Why?"

"Just listen to me. Ok?" He said in an assuring tone and she complied.

"I am switching on the lights but I don't want you to see anything yet" he replied and closed her eyes with his hands in case she attempted to open them.

Sindhu followed her husband, totally clueless about what's happening.

"Open your eyes now" he said and she opened them only to find herself in their bedroom.

"You must be tired now. Go have a shower, I will be waiting in the living for you" He added before she could question him.

"What's happening Karthik?" she asked, not following him.

"Just do as I say, ok?" He said softly and she nodded, looking into his eyes.

He kissed her on the forehead and left her, locking the door behind him. She slumped onto the bed, not knowing what's happening. It was then did she notice the pathetic navy blue bed sheet she despised so much had been changed. Instead, a new pearly white bed sheet with pretty flowery design on it was arranged perfectly on the bed.

She smiled realizing that he remembered what she told him. She got up looking around when her gaze landed on the other side of the bed where a box was present.

When she opened it, she was delighted to find a beautiful red saree inside. Tears filled her eyes knowing that he bought it for her. This is his first gift ever since he married her and she loved it.

Remembering what he told, she quickly kept the saree away and tried to open her cupboards to get ready. She tried again when they didn't open only to realize that he locked them.

Why would he?

Her gaze landed on the saree making her understand that he wanted her to wear it.

Now? But, why?

Soon realization set in and her eyes widened in shock. She understood that he is expecting more from her tonight.

It's ok.. He is your husband and he has every right.. Don't panic...

She kept chanting it over and over again in her head while opening the drawer below the cupboards where her lingerie was kept.

She sighed in relief when she found a razor in one of her trolley bags and quickly rushed into the wash room to get herself cleaned up.

Sindhu emerged out, exactly twenty five minutes later and started drying her hair in hurry.

Remembering that he planned a surprise for her warmed her heart and she smiled unknowingly.

A few minutes later, she banged the door to let him know that she's ready.

When he opened the door, she was surprised to see him cleaned up and looking very handsome. But, it's just not him that caught her attention but also the living room which looked like it was decorated for a birthday party.

She looked around the room in awe seeing numerous red balloons on the floor and decorations on the walls when she noticed Karthik looking at her with a bright smile.

"Do you like it?" He asked, looking very happy with her reaction.

"It is amazing" she said, still looking around in wonder "You did this?"

When he nodded shyly, she added "Why?"

"I wanted to plan something for you and today is the best day" When she looked at him with a frown, he continued "We got married on this day, exactly six months ago"

Her eyebrows rose in surprise as she asked in wonder "What? Really? It's been that long?" When he nodded with a smile, she added "So, is this a six month anniversary celebration or what?"

"Exactly"

"Do people even celebrate that?" She asked with an amused smile.

He sighed "Yes. Few people celebrate monthly anniversaries and few even 100 days and 200 days of marriage. They just find reasons to celebrate"

"Wow. Never heard of that" she answered making him chuckle.

"Now, come here" he said, taking her hand and walked towards the teepoy where a chocolate pastry was present with words 'Happy Anniversary' written on it.

"Yum" she said seeing the cake making him say instantly "Not yet"

She pouted playfully at him and he shook his head smiling while lighting the candle on it.

"May be you should put just half a candle on it" she said in a teasing tone.

Ignoring her comment, he took the knife and made her hold it with her hand. When she blew the candle off, they cut the cake together and fed each other.

"This is very good. Did you prepare it?" she said, enjoying the velvety smoothness of it in her mouth.

"No, I don't know how to bake"

"It's so sweet of you though, planning to celebrate" she said honestly, looking at him.

He pulled her close to him and let her head fall on his chest "It is nothing"

"No, it's not. Tell me one thing. Did you stay all day at home to prepare this?"

"Yes. But you haven't seen anything yet"

"There's more?" Sindhu asked, unable to hide the surprise off her voice.

He nodded with a secret smile and took the pastry towards the kitchen. He returned with a couple of bowls and placed them on the teepoy.

"You prepared dinner?" She asked in awe and he grinned.

Soon Sindhu forgot her initial tension as she immersed into talking about her day with her mom while eating. Karthik listened intently until she brought up the topic of his project. He explained what's going on with his team and how his PM wanted it to be on time.

"Give me your plate" Karthik said getting up, while giving his hand to her to give her plate.

"No, I will do that" she replied, backing off.

"Sindhu. You always do everything for me. Let me do for you today"

She stared at him silently before giving her plate to him and walked to the common wash room to wash her hands. She washed her face and rinsed her mouth as flashes of everything that happened since morning crossed her mind.

She couldn't believe that he did all of this for her.

When she came out, he handed her a towel and she dried her face not observing anything around. When she handed it back, she was surprised to find everything cleared in the living. The sofa set was pulled aside, against the walls leaving empty space in its place.

Before she could ask Karthik, she heard him "Do you want to dance?"

She blinked twice not believing what she heard "Did you just say dance?"

He chuckled "Yes, I did. But, I am warning you that I am not good"

"I am not good at dancing either" she confessed making him smile.

He clicked the remote and a romantic tune started playing in the DVD making her look at him in awe.

Is this guy for real?

He took her hand and pulled her into his arms, swaying his body and hers with the tune.

"I don't think what we are doing can be called dancing" Sindhu said with amusement dancing in her eyes as she moved along with him.

He burst into laughter "I was thinking the same thing"

"Still, you want to continue?"

"Yes"

"Why did you plan this when you are terrible at it?" she questioned unable to hide her amusement.

"Shall I say the truth?" When she nodded, he continued "I thought you might like it"

She stopped moving and looked at him with a questioning look when he added "Since you are romantic, I thought you'd love this kind of stuff"

"You did this for me?" When he nodded, she smiled shyly looking at him "I—I don't know what to say"

"Then don't. Just enjoy this moment" he answered, looking affectionately at her.

Sindhu's heart bubbled with happiness and excitement, being so close to him. The way he planned everything for her made her fall more in love with him.

She followed Karthik's lead when he pulled her closer and swayed his body to the slow tune playing in the background.

"You smell good; like coconuts" He started, trying to make a conversation.

"Oh, yeah. I use Nivea Coconut Crème shower cream. It smells really great but doesn't last long" she replied excitedly without thinking.

Having realized what she blurted, Sindhu stopped moving and her hands covered her face feeling embarrassed. However, Karthik was amused and chapped his lips close, trying hard not to laugh at her.

"Please tell me I didn't say that" She said in mortification, her hands still over her face.

He burst into laughter "You just did"

"Ugh no" She groaned, turning away from him.

"Hey" he started, removing her hands off her face "It's only me."

He pulled her close and placed his hands on both sides of her face "It's alright. Common"

"I always humiliate myself in front of you" she replied, feeling shameful.

"It's only me. And I like it when you talk about stupid things"

She smiled shyly at him "So, you don't think I am an idiot?"

He grinned mischievously "I never said that"

When she tried to push him away, he got hold of her hands and wrapped them around his waist. Never missing eye contact, he pulled her chin up and said softly "It's ok. I like you like that"

"Really?" she asked slowly, staring up to him.

"I think we should start working on making you forget that word you use so often. How about I kiss you every time you say that?"

"What?" She asked, her eyes bulging out in shock.

"Yeah. That way may be you'd stop saying 'Really' every time I confess something"

"Is it for my benefit or yours?" She asked, feeling suspicious when his answering mischievous grin cleared her doubts.

"You are---" she stopped herself, failing to drop her smile and lowered her head when he added cheekily "Smart? I know"

She shook her head smiling at his self-praise when his hand lifted her chin up and he bent his head towards her. He looked at her as if asking permission and she stood on her tiptoes reaching up to him.

He stroked her cheeks gently before capturing her mouth with his. While his left hand massaged her bare waist, his right played with her still damp hair. He was lost in her, yet again and didn't notice when her hands travelled all the way up from his waist to his shirt collar.

When he pulled away, she slipped her arms around his neck and placed her head on his chest, closing her eyes.

"Sindhu... Are you alright?" His soft voice made her open her eyes and look up to him.

"Yes, I am" she replied with a shy smile and later added as an afterthought "Actually, I think I need some fresh air"

She opened the glass doors of the balcony and walked into it. Placing her hands on the railing, she looked ahead at the trees and other apartments around. In spite of having so many families, this place is always quiet; especially at nights.

She heard the balcony door open followed by his presence behind her.

"This place is quiet. Isn't it?" she asked slowly, staring ahead.

"Um. Yeah" he answered, caught off guard by her question.

"How is that possible? I heard that about 1500+ families live here"

"Everyone's locked up in their homes; busy with their own lives I guess"

He placed his hands beside hers on the railing, trapping her and moved close to her ear "You know we can create a Titanic moment right now"

She smiled turning her head backwards while her body still faced the front "What Titanic moment?"

"The kiss on the deck of the ship" He replied with a smile "We are in the exact position now"

She bit her lower lip trying to hide her smile "You want to follow someone else's story and not make your own?"

He smiled shyly "You are right"

"Aren't I always?" she questioned playfully.

"Yes, you are" he replied, looking as if he is proud of her.

She blushed slightly and turned her line of sight towards the trees, though her mind is completely filled with Karthik and the way he looked at her all through the evening.

"Sindhu..."

She hummed in response making him continue "Look at me"

She turned around, facing him and he fondled her cheeks as he slowly said "Are you scared?"

Understanding what he meant, she slightly nodded "A bit"

He pressed his forehead to hers and said softly "To tell you the truth, even I am."

She smiled at his honest answer as he added "But I promise I won't do anything that you don't want me to. You can trust me on that."

"I trust you. I always do" Her answer was almost a whisper and he felt happy hearing her.

"Really?"

His question made her smile and she added in a teasing tone "Now it's you who is using that word. What shall I do?"

"The rule works both ways and you can give the same punishment that I proposed" he replied naughtily.

"What punishment?" she asked, feeling confused for a moment before understanding set in.

She bit her lip, trying to stop herself from blushing when his gaze landed on her lips and desire danced in his eyes. Knowing what he's expecting from her, she said boldly "You know what, I don't need rules or reasons to kiss you"

Having said that, she stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his, making him smile through the kiss. Her hands travelled beneath his shirt and desire flared up within him with her soft caresses.

When she pulled away, he continued kissing all over her face until he heard her "K-Karthik..."

"What?" he said breathlessly, looking at her with intense eyes.

"Um, we are in the balcony" she replied, blushing slightly making him groan.

He pressed her forehead to his "I am so sorry for putting you in this position. Did anyone see us?"

She chuckled lightly "I wouldn't know"

He smiled, pulling away from her and lifted her bridal style, making her eyes widen. Carrying her to their bedroom, he laid her down on the mattress.

"Do you like the bed sheet now?" he asked, sitting on the bed while caressing her face.

"Y-Yes it's nice" she replied, staring into his eyes which bore passion and desire.

He kissed her forehead and her eyes closed involuntarily before she felt him kiss her eyelids. When she opened them, she found him looking at her with so much love.

He held her head with his right hand and kissed her deeply while his other hand worked to get her out of her saree. As much as he loved her in it, he didn't want anything between them.

She pulled away with a blush "Won't you—um--- switch off the lights?"

"And miss seeing you like this?" he questioned with a mischievous smile, looking at her in just a blouse and lehenga while her saree was dumped somewhere on the floor.

"Please.." She said softly and he sighed, walking towards the switchboard.

He dimmed the lights and walked back when he heard her "Aren't you going to switch them off?"

"No way" he replied, opening his shirt.

Hovering above her, he continued his assault on her lips while her hands roamed all over his bare torso. His hands travelled from her neck to her waist as he parted his lips away from hers and continued giving wet open mouthed kisses all over her face and down her neck.

Her soft and intimate touches made him more excited and turned on and his hands moved towards her blouse.

"Karthik..." Sindhu's voice brought him out of his passion induced mind.

"Ssh... Everything's going to be alright.. I promise to be gentle with you"

She nodded, looking a bit frightened and dazed and he smiled, kissing her deeply while his hands worked on the hooks of her blouse.

Thank you for reading. Please do not forget to Vote and Comment if you liked this chapter.

I wanted it to be cute and sensuous and I hope I achieved that. I have no idea how it's written in Indian stories. I just wrote the way I imagined how would it be, between them.

Please tell me what you think of this chap. Is it fine? Ok? good? Can be better?

To those who didn't understand the title, Double C means Celebration and Consummation... I have weird title naming skills? I know.. :p

I don't have extra chaps. So, you will get an update when I write a new chap after my exam tomm.

Happy weekend... Love you all... :)
